that happened to you maybe? well it happened to me and as i remembered the so great memories i had from EQ game , i decided to fight for freedo.... to get back my old character from lost memories and back to job!

for what other reason you may have, i saw so many people wanting to know if their old char was still alive somewhere and how to get it back that i decided to resume it all in that guide.

Be prepare for a cosmic punch back to hell past ! Your long lost <and sacrificed gnome or hobbit drood> < -enter the name here-> is just some click from you.

Ok , now we know we want to play again with our beloved character. How to get it back to work?

Your first step is to find back what you remember of either of this :
1 - E mail you used at that time
2 - station name
3 - Station password.
4 - server it was played from originaly.
5 - character name

1- The mail !

Ultimetely, 1- the Email- is a must have as, it probably still is your mail, and you have some chance to find it back .
Withe the mail, you can recover it all :
- your station name
- your pasword
and with those, your characters.
You may need first to check if your previus sever is still in the actual server list : https://www.everquest.com/
Ifnot , check section "4- The server!"

2- The station name

If you have the station name, but lost the password, it will give you back the password .... by Email at prévious Email : You need your Email.

3- The station password :

Damnit, the password is always the same , but what was that hell of a station name?
Hum you can recover it as if you knew nothing , IF you have the Email.

4- Server it was played Originaly !

You played on Dora Ro server ... but it nomore exist?
Hummm you ll need some seraching .

Ok you remember that "Dora TheExplorer" was your main character on that ... humm what was that server name? Dora thule? Dorabane? DoraThoxx? ...shhh
===) no really, Email will save you , or you won t have a clue and me either.

6- secret option : the last hope option !

Ok now , you have some way to get some clues about long archeological past :
- 1 check the EQ forums ( Eq classic missing forum may help you there : http://www.eqclassic.org/forums/viewforum.php?f=50 )
- 2 create a toon on a populated server or a "progression" server and try to contact a GM : they may be able to help you somehow. who knows.

7- the last thing to do :

well that s the last thing to do, but i ain t sure of the result : post a ticket. Actualy i ain t sure if the support still help on that. have a try , who knows. But still , Email is THE thing.

Experience, test, stress : back to the job!

Before your experiment ( and get a strong disgusting feeling ) with your old memories about what you could do , and what you can do now , i suggest you to have a look on Plane of Power to the local mercenaries hire man.

There are multiple that can hire you a vast variety of mercernaries, from warriors to priest and maybe other classes, but actually, depending your main class, you should stick with those two.

They cost some plats every 15minutes or they ll suspend their help. So be ready to open your purse to get your cleric insurance at hand. At 66th , the cleric mercenary costed me something like 15 plats every 15 minutes.

Is it worth it ?

well actualy those mercenaries are REALLY effective ! They were meant to help people solo levs 12-85 or quite, to help them powerlevel to high end content.

Yes now high end isn t like the old days , 50/ 60 or 65/ 70 ... no , it s 85+ .

Progression servers?

Progression servers aren't old character' friendly if i get it right. But they are time locked into the past, leaving you with a new toon to experiment old EQ as it was before, till some level of expansion. Don t remember though if they are opened till kunark, velious or luclin . You ll have to check that.

Those server are populated i got said . So it s a good way to find some groups , do some raids, as old EQ was when you left.
