Rise of Legions Beginners guide Intro

Welcome to my Beginner guide of Rise of Legions!

I will update this guide with more Decks as the game progresses and more decks are being made by the people and I will give full credits to the creator of that deck

Lets begin!
1st off you are gonne need to play the Tutorial!

After you have completed the tutorial you wanna take a look at the quests (the big ! ) you have in the bottom right and try to complete those as you play the game :)

Always try to complete the quests you get it gives Credits and free cards and who doesnt like free stuff?

Lets take a look at the legions we have available to us

There are 4 Legions each with their own Unit tree to unlock new cards from!

White:
The White Legion never abandon their teammates! They protect each other with heals, shields and even rescues comrades from death.

Black:
The black legions harvest the souls from the battlefield to increase their own strength.
They freeze and banish their enemies into the abyss

Green:
The Green legions uses the power of nature to root their enemies in place and support their allies by summoning saplings to join the battlefield

Blue(WIP):
The blue legion uses devastating weaponary to destroy their enemies while keeping then at bay with rapidfire turrets!

Now that you have a idea what each legion does you should choose what legion you wanna focus on. While mono colored decks are viable I would recommend mixing 2 colors, There will be a few starter decks in this guide.
Legions chosen what now?

Now you have chosen a legion or multiple legions and chosen a beginners deck its time to go play some games. In the beginning its recommended to just stay VS AI this way you will be able to unlock new cards aswell as gain some credits thats needed for upgrading your deck.

Cards in this game are divided in three stages and five tiers

There are also three type of cards:
  • Summons
  • Spells
  • Spawners
Stages:

There are three stages in this game each unlocking at differend times in the match.
Stage 1 Summons/Spells can be played once the games starts
Stage 2 Summons/Spells can be played once 4 minutes have passed in the match
Stage 3 Summons/Spells can be played once 8 minutes have passed in the match

These icons show you what stage the cards are in:

They can be found on the bottom right of the card.

Note that I said Summons/Spells, spawners have a differend rule set to them, they can be played when ever you want so long you have enough Essence to do so.
Depending on the Stage, Spawners have differend costs
  • Stage 1 - 800
  • Stage 2 - 1500
  • Stage 3 - 2400

Spawners can only be played on one of these 20 squares. When you place your spawner it will spawn that unit so its recommended that you play a spawner on a blue circle as when the blue circle pops it will spawn the same unit again. The cirles pop every 2 seconds in a random order.

Summons:

Each stage has their own cost, ranging from 100 to 200 mana.
  • Stage 1 - 100
  • Stage 2 - 150
  • Stage 3 - 200
  • Legendary 300
(each player can only have one legendary active at a time)

There are two types of summons: buildings and units. While units move on the map buildings are stationary.

as an ex. for a building:

There are two keywords accosiated to them:
  • Limited: Gadgets
  • Lifetime: Building

Limited: Gadgets Example:

This buildings are limited to 5 per battlefield at a time. Placing a 6th destroys the first.

Lifetime: Building example:

This building is destroyed after 90 seconds.

Summons can be used almost anywhere on the map if it is in range of your tower, which is indicated by the green area on the ground when trying to summon.

Spells:

Spells can be used anywhere on the map. Just as spawners and summons, spells have also differend cost depening on the stage, ranging from 80 to 180 mana.
  • Stage 1 - 80
  • Stage 2 - 130
  • Stage 3 - 180
  • Legendary - 280
Leagues:

There are 5 tiers
  • Stone
  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Crystal

in what league you are playing is depending on the highest tier card in your deck.
How do you see what rating your card has?
The colored icon below the unit indicates the tier of the card and that in turn decides what league your deck will be playing in.

Stone:

Bronze:

Silver:

Gold:

Crystal:

Leveling up cards:

There are 2 ways to level up cards:
1. playing matches
2. sacrificing cards into the targed card

If a card levels up its cooldown will reduce and once it reaches level 5 you can ascend to the next tier. Once a card reached the max Level, you can still add cards to it (picture above) for a reduced ascend cost. Duplicates double this effect.
Decks
Now that you know what the legions have to offer and what kind of cards are in the game, it's to make a deck!

Its important to keep your deck balanced. Right now most games will take you around 8min+ which means you should have some stage 3 cards up your sleeves. Rushing your enemy may work in lower Tiers (stone, bronze) but once you encounter more experienced players in higher tiers, (silver, gold) your path to the towers will be blocked by spells and units untily their winning condition is reached.

Starter Decks

Here are some starter decks that [ENTE]aufmKopf made (all Credits go to him)

Bronze League Decks

Black/White Deck:

In this Deck you wanna push with brute force. Save your mana to spawn big waves of units in order to overrun towers. Shields up! will keep you alive and exhaust the towers ammunition. If you find yourself in a stalemate at the enemy nexus or even before that, use the cauldron of souls for additional pressure and siege power.
Footmen are a solid way to absorb a huge amount of damage and generate enough souls (aka energy) for your Black Legion units.

Green/White Deck:

While other decks try to push while still in stage 1, this deck wants to fight for the middle tower and wait for stage 2. Spawn your Void Bane, give it Frenzy before it reaches to enemy unit (if your opponents spawns units to contest it). That's a common tactic for every black deck.
Spawn units beside your tower to get help from it. Spawn Frostworms into enemy units in tower range, so they get frozen if they kill it. Once you reach stage 2, place your pulse of the nature to buff incoming units and summon your woodwalker near them to get him and the saplings buffed by it. Now its your turn to zerg the enemy down :)

PvE Decks

I added Pulse of the Nature and a Wisp spawner, if you struggle a little bit use them to make it easier for yourself. Place pulse of the nature on the map, leave some space between it and the nexus to Giant Growth your units before they reach it (additional +90 max HP). Use Shields Up! as often as you can. Surge of Light is only worth to heal a Avenger with Giant Growth on it. If you see a lot of Crystal Chanter try to root them away instead of fighting them in a bad spot.
Practice it, change cards, personalize it! GOOD HUNTING!

A video that show how this decks plays

The start of the video is boring, but you can see what i spawned to destroy the first tower. The only thing you need to do is to wait with spawns till 1800 essence, summon 2 hearts of the forest (away from each other, pls), 2 ballista, 2 priest and place avengers spawner.
End

This is the very 1st written guide I have ever made so I hope it helps you. Feedback is always appreciated and as I said earlier in this guide I am gonne try my best to keep it up to date and add more decks when the players are willing to share them :)
