What's this about?
It's basically an accumulation of information I wish I had going into the game to make my start easier. Especially knowing about the abilities the game offers and the added features for the PC port.
Changes from the original
In a Blog Post[www.xseedgames.com] from the 1st of May 2018, XSEEDGames details some changes to the game on the PC from the original on the Xbox 360 from 2006.

The important ones from a gameplay perspective are enemy adjustments, weapon tweaks and a new feature.

Enemy Adjustment
The original JP Xbox game had enemies with much larger health pools. The PC port was made from the JP version. They were instructed to replicate the enemy health from the NA Xbox version. The health might have minuscule differences.

The 'Gigas' Enemy has been adjusted to actually target the player. In the original they were almost no threat to the player.

Weapon Tweaks
When stopping to fire, the player character would put away their weapon. This was both happening more quickly but also took longer to execute than it does now.

The shotgun upgrade to the gun was also improved as it did so little damage in the original, that it wasn't useful.

Dash Feature
This one is really important and it's the thing that I wish I knew before going into the game. They added a debug feature that has the player character dash forward rather quickly added to the game as a genuine feature. This allows for much faster movement. It's basically a cheat compared to the original Xbox version. It's not completely safe to use however. Dashing into obstacles can result in the player character falling through the floor.

It's also not explained within the game how to use the feature. It's done by opening the magic ring [Middle Mouse Button / Shoulder Buttons] and crouching [L Shift / Left Stick].
Skills
After completing a stage in the game you will receive skill points. The skill points carry over between playthroughs. At the beginning of the game you will be comparatively weak. Spending skill points therefore is an important decision early in the game. A problem with this is the fact that the game expects you to invest skill points into abilities you might end up not using. This is a list of what abilities there are and what they do.

Abilities

Abilities are pretty straight forward. They enhance the regeneration rates of the HP or MP. It's important to note how they work respectively.

These are the HP and MP bars. Note the thick rings at the left of the screen. Those mark somewhat fluid maxima.

Every time you are hit you lose HP. Some hits will push the ring to the right. The HP bar will somewhat swiftly recover up to the ring. Once at the ring it will push the ring further left automatically over time as well but much slower. This will stop for a while though if you're hit again.

MP works a little different. It also regenerates up to the ring. It will not automatically push the ring further left after regenerating to its maximum. It will move further left again, however, if you kill an enemy. It will deplete when reloading or casting a spell. A spell furthermore will push the ring further right. The amount it'll push right depends on the spell. A small spell will push it right for the same amount that one kill will respectively restore it.

This will ensure that you'll always have a maximum MP amount big enough to reload. It'll keep you from spamming spells however, especially the strongest ones.

Gun Rod Upgrades

Machine Gun Form
This is the standard Form of your Gun and the only one unlocked at the start. It's a basic Assault Rifle. It has has a magazine size of 80.

Shotgun Form
This is the first upgrade. It has been buffed in comparison to the original Xbox version. It's quite effective in closed spaces. It's highly situational. It has has a magazine size of 16. The first upgrade unlocks it. Further upgrades boost its strength.

Cannon Form
This is the second upgrade. It's a sniper rifle and an anti-materiel rifle at the same time. It's the only Gun Form that can effectively dispatch tanks or helicopters without using spells. It is thereby recommended to unlock this relatively early. It has has a magazine size of 24. The first upgrade unlocks it. Further upgrades boost its strength.

Gatling Form
This is the third upgrade. It's significantly more expensive than the others. It's basically a better version of the standard Machine Gun Form. It has a little less reach and more spread but it's overall better. It has has a magazine size of 400. The first upgrade unlocks it. Further upgrades boost its strength.

Magic
Element Shot
The Element Shot will transfer your current weapon.
The Machine Gun Form will be infused with fire. The weapon will deal extra damage and have a chance of igniting enemies dealing damage over time.
The Shotgun Form will be infused with wind. It'll push enemies back that are in the vicinity of what you're shooting at.
The Cannon Form will be infused with a holy element. It'll allow you to use the cannon as a sniper rifle and scope in on enemies by pressing aim multiple times. It'll only grant you 4 bullets.
The Gatling Form will be infused with thunder. It'll allow you to electrocute an enemy. Further shooting an electrocuted enemy will have a chance of electrocuting a nearby enemy as well.

Ancient Wall
This spell puts up a wall. The wall will only exist for a very short time. It's already unlocked at the beginning. It has limited health as well. Upgrading the spell will enhance its health.

Rose Spear
This spell will shoot a rose forward in a straight line in the direction the player character is facing at the time of casting. Along the path the rose traveled spikes will emerge and damage enemies.

Willpower
This spell sends out a gust of wind and pushes smaller objects. Objects that hit enemies will deal significant damage. It can also clear hindrances.

Sacrifice
This spell will revive downed humans. Dead humans will be gone. It can only be cast if you're close to a crawling human. The survival rate of humans is one of the 3 factors you're graded on when finishing a level. Finishing with a better score helps with gaining skill points faster. It'll cost a negligible amount of HP and MP to cast this.

Ravens Panic
This spell will send ravens after your enemies. This will essentially make them useless for the duration of the spell. The further upgraded the spell is, the more ravens will be distracting enemies. It's a good tactic to send ravens after a barricade, jumping behind the barricade and shotgunning them down without much opposition.

I'm done with the game but decided to check this out anyway, gave it a thumbs up! Very good job and very clear explanation of what the game has to offer.

I didn't know about the dashing either 'till i've seen it being used in a speedrun.

Keep up the great work in all that you do and take care :thumb:.
