Intro

This thread is all in one collection of technical issues and their possible fixes for STEAM VERSION ONLY. We have a long time story about helping each other to fix some issues here, on steam forums.

Issue: I got ~30 FPS on low and same on High settings with the descent PC.

You are disabled Windows 10 Updates. You need to have at least Windows 10 version 1809. Turn on updates.

Issue: I got random stuttering/freezes when i am playing the game

Solution: It means that your system doesn't have enough RAM. Download more RAM. 8GB is enough only for low settings. Simply buy one more RAM stick. If you cannot purchase additional RAM stick - then you need to move game to a SSD disk. If you doesnt have an SSD, well there is nothing you can do.

Issue: I got game crash with DX12. What is Wrong?

Follow step by step:
1. Check if your card supports DX12.
2. Check if you have Windows 10 updated to latest build.
3. Check if you have latest Nvidia/AMD drivers.

THEN DISABLE ANY THIRD PARTY OVERLAY SOLUTIONS.
Including a Nvidia overlay. if you still have crash at start - completely remove Geforce Experience.

Issue: I doesn't like BLUR. How can i disable it?

Open a
C:\Users\%USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\metro exodus\%yoursteamnid64%\user.cfg
and set r_game_mblur_scale and r_blur_level to 0.
You can edit bunch of stuff there.

Issue: My game is stuck when i ALT+TABing.

Do not use alt+tab until you load new/saved game. There is no fix for that. Your game WILL stuck if you alt+tab during intro or main menu.

Didn't notice he was using SSD.I always played heavy AAA games on HDD and never had such issues.Stuff like Far cry 5,Control,etc runs without issues.Also why the fuck does steam page say 8gb ram is "recommended" when it clearly doesn't un well on 8gb?And why does the game consume only like 3-4gb and leave 2+gb free?I know i NEED another 8gb stick,but I never though ths can be such a serious issue.Never,NEVER had so terrible stuttering in games.

SSD - Crucial MX500 That guy doesnt have a HDD at all. As it is described at this guide - a NVME SSD works just fine with 8gm ram. Sooooo what exactly explained at that video?

$ D@rk Re@per $ Windows automatically relocate avaible system memory and all the memomry usage. Like if you have same PC, for a 4 gb ram - all usage will like 3gb, but if you swap ddr for a 16 gb, windows automatically know that there is more ram avaible, and system will be using like 6gb. Just be because RAM memory is FASTER then your old HDD. It is better to cache everything tha you are using to RAM for a faster access.

Metro EXODUS WONT RUN WITHOUT STUTTERING ON HDD+8GM RAM
Go buy an NVME SSD or additional 8gb ram plank.
It just wont work, no matter what you thinbking or trying to do with configs etc etc. HDD is too slow for modern games, and to compensate that, a game has to load more textures to your RAM. That is why there is more RAM needed.

This issue was tested numerous times.

I have way more noticeable stuttering with 8gb ram, it's like a microfreeze very 2-5 seconds.What the hell...The game doesn't even use 100% of memory.Afterburner says 6gb max usage

I have a GeForce RTX2060, with 32GB of Ram. The game played absolutely smooth when I first bought it, but when I started to play it again a few days ago, I have nothing but freezing every 2 minutes. The game is now unplayable.
