Serment Guide
By sznt
The primary focus of this guide is for information outside of the Dungeon. Only basic Dungeon mechanics and tips are mentioned here.

You may noticed that some part of the guide is vague. This is done on purpose so that player can still enjoy the story.

Note:
  • This is the 1st Unofficial Serment Guide at Steam (if this help the creation of other guide out there, more power for you).
  • English is not my native language.
  • There are still some things I need to iron out.

Basic Information for New Player
I hope this part will help answered some of the questions potential Buyers may have and help Players enjoy the game more and be less stressed out.
I'll do my best to keep spoiler limited/hidden.

Character Selections

Let's start from character selection. The Store Page boast that you have the ability to play 4 different characters and they each have unique story lines. I have confirmed that this is indeed true. There are similar quests shared among the different characters. The main quest is still to pay your contract but how your character interact around the Demon world is different.

If you are like me and enjoy story more so than fighting in game, I suggest following this progression:
1. Warrior
2. Mage
3. Shinobi
4. Freelancer

(This made the story to reveal naturally/more like a progression of !!! moments as you get to know non-player characters via different view point. It is FUN~)

Worrying about having to repeat the same grind after completing the 1st playthrough? DON'T!
The Developers have provided players with New Game + options. This will significantly reduce grinding and if you choose to, you may skip exploring the dungeon entirely after you finished your 1st playthrough.

New Game + Advantage:
  • Unlocked 100% Floors Map - if you complete this on your 1st playthrough
  • Starting with 1,000,000G
  • Angle Wing (Traveling reduced to 5 mins) - Reward for defeating Sera
You have the option to enable/disable the starting gold boost as well as the Angle Wing

Main Story and Side Quests/Events

If for whatever reasons the game goal is UNCLEAR to you, the main quest is to make full payment to Lucy (The description in the store suggested that). Everytime you successfully make payment for that week, you will trigger main events the next day that is specific to your chosen class.

As stated by the Devs, you will NOT miss Side Quests/Events as you progress through the Main Story. What this means is, Side Quests/Events aren't triggered by specific day rather by specific set of criteria. More over, you can clear up the Main Quest to pay your contract and continue playing the game after.

(BTW Devs, if you are reading this good job. I have yet encountered a bug initiating multiple different Side Quests at the same time and completing them).

Stamina
As part of Devs Update, you are given a choice in the beginning of the game whether to enable stamina or not. If you have this enabled, team member may leave in the middle of dungeon exploring. It will make it harder but this is how the game was originally intended to be played. This setting can be change anytime by pressing ESC > Config > Gameplay Tab > Character Stamina: Enable /Disable options.

If you keep playing, it makes sense why Devs decided to this. It follows the lore of the Demon World. The demon can't die due to the barrier but they can get tired. You aren't supposed to die either other than not paying the contract. When you die in battle you lose G.

YURI?
Some of you may wonder if this is legitimate YURI game or if merely subtext. This game is def not merely subtext however if you expect to see Hentai and that is all you care about, you are in the wrong place. I for one is happy that this is not one of those pointless games.

Stressful?
This game has undergone multiple updates since the day it was launched. I played it prior to those updates and it wasn't that hard in the 1st place. Although I would say reducing enemy encounter is a good move. It was more annoyance than being hard. Now, I personally believe the game is too easy but everyone is different so there is that.

Is it worth the $15 price tag?
Only you can answer that.

If you decided to get this, I will recommend to do other playthroughs with different characters to get different experience. This part in my opinion is really where the game shine. I have a lot of fun discovering what my new MC would say/do.

In addition, the Devs is currently working on adding more content to the game.

Cooking
Before you can cook, you will need to assist Maria thawing her kitchen. Refer to the quest section for more information. Please note that you can't cook specific food without having the recipe. Food effectiveness depends on character food preference.

Example:
Someone who like sweet may not receive the same benefit from salty food when compared to someone who does.

Cooking recipes can be expanded by going to the Library and choosing to hang out. So far the total number of upgrade I can obtain is 3. You can only hang out for this purpose once per day. In addition to recipes, each upgrade increases food effectiveness.

1st upgrade: Choose Hang Out (1st time)
2nd upgrade: Choose Hang Out (3 x)
3rd upgrade: Choose Hang Out (6 x)

Cooking will take time but it is cheaper than purchasing from Emilia.
Oddly when increasing the number of food you are trying to cook at a time, it didn't affect the time it take to cook them. Bug? Also, I believe certain food cannot be purchased from Emilia
(Devs your input will be appreciated).

Fishing
Due to my dislike for fishing, I have yet to spend a lot of time to understand the mechanic. Speaking of mechanic, it is def odd and in my opinion boring (Though I do like the mini character image that show up).

My dislike aside, here are some fishing information I have gathered so far:

1. The more you fish, the more you increase your fishing skill.
2. Fishing will eat up your time. Pay attention on the hours or you may lose your day doing this.
3. Players can currently upgrade fishing to LVL 4 (This information is from a Dev).
4 The rewards from fishing vary from fish to different items.
5. The higher your skill the higher your chance for catching "valuable/rare" fish and item.

Personally, I haven't catch an item that I cannot earned by going to the dungeon. I have however caught fish that I rarely seen available in Emilias's pub. The fish can be used for cooking decent dish (For more information, refer to the Cooking section).

Dungeon Basic
The Dungeon is your main way for making income. Technically speaking you can earn money by selling items you have caught while fishing but this probably makes you want to drill a hole in your brain.

Completing the Dungeon is NOT a requirement for you to progress through the Main story.
Your MAIN CONCERN is to fully pay your contract.
(More details about the Main Quest can be found on Known Quests/Events section)

The 1st floor provided a basic tutorial of the dungeon mechanics. As you delved deeper, they will add additional explanations.

To bring In-Game Dungeon Manual:
1. Press ESC
2. Click Codex
3. Click Manual

The in-game tutorial and manual should provide you with sufficient information to solve the dungeon puzzles.

If you are having trouble and do not necessarily want help to solve the puzzle, here are some tips I can provide that doesn't necessarily spoil your game:

1. Try to map as many area as you are capable of doing. Having a "Bird" view of the map makes it easier to see all available options on that Floor.

2. You will always encounter a Waypoint as you go down a floor (Near the entrance).

3. Waypoint allow you to teleport beyond the Floor you are on. Think forward not just backward. If you can't solve how to open certain door but can proceed further down the Floor that maybe your hint to take advantage of the new Waypoint you just unlocked.

4. It maybe necessary to utilize Recharge Key more than once. As you expand your "Bird VIew" of the map, keep this in mind.

5. Wrap portal may wrap you to another part of the map that is inaccessible otherwise. They do not necessarily wrap you near the Entrance of the Floor.

Arisa's Upgrade (Spoiler)
*This is a working progress.

Arisa will start with "Blank Chip".
Tips:
Most of the materials can be bought on Hilda's store assuming you have cleared the floor required to unlock the materials. The only exception is her last upgrade. The last required materials can be farmed on Floor 7 (Metal Slime and Chimera)

Level 50 + Money Generator (Spoiler)

If this is your 1st playthrough, I highly recommend that you play the Warrior class first. This will not only allow you to understand the game mechanics but also 2 other things:
  • The "Main" Story of each character will differs to some degree. They have different personalities and I believe choosing from the Warrior allow you to enjoy this more. My personal preference so far is Warrior > Mage > Shinobi > Freelancer
  • The Warrior as stated is the easiest mode possible. If you are trying to obtain the achievement ASAP this is your ticket.

Also, I recommend to NOT use the Magic Essence until way later.
I HAVE ENCOUNTERED A STAT UPGRADE THAT COST YOU 50,000G (#$@U!)

================================
SPOILER BEGIN HERE
================================

There are 3 Achievements you can get from following this guide:
  • Rags to Riches (Have 100,000G)
  • Overpowered (Hit Level 50)
  • That Was Hard (Defeat Sera)

This is NOT a cheat where you get to sit tight and do nothing. You still have to grind but you will grind smarter. We will be exploiting the game mechanic to player's advantage. The 2 mechanics that will work for us are:
  • Other party members will level up even when they are not with you
  • The less party member you have. the more G and EXP for you.

I have completed 2 playthrough so far and in the process of my 3rd one. As stated above, the 1st one is with the Warrior class and the 2nd one is with the Mage class. The Mage is naturally a bit harder to do at first but this guide applied to her as well.

REQUIREMENTS:

You should have obtained the following items:
  • Arcane Scroll (Hilda’s Rare Item Event - Misable. This item increases EXP gain)
  • 5-Leaf Clover (Dungeon Chest - I forgot the floor level TBD - I think the name explained what it does.)
  • Ino's Hairpin (You can make do with the other 2 but this is nice too as it increase item drop rate. The item can be obtained through an event listed on my known quests/events guide)

You will also need to get to FLOOR 7 ASAP to be as efficient as possible(This part of the guide will not contain how to clear the floor). The monsters here can be killed by one or 2 attacks if you have the right setup. Example: One single Jade Golem can be killed by 1 attack with no other party member beside yourself. It drops 15,120 G by itself (This guide is written on 2/4. Unless the Devs push another update this was the amount I got). I personally "speed" through the floors and didn't necessarily bother to level up my characters on purpose. I let my character level up naturally with 2 other party members. For Warrior mode, I barely upgraded my characters stats until I started going to FLOOR 6.

Side Note:
You can take advantage the mechanics I mentioned above at any floors. So if you don't want to rush to Floor 7, you can still benefit from them. I'm giving you what I think is the most efficient way to lvl up and earn G.

THE PROCESS:

The Process isn't an exact HOW TO but rather a guidelines.
If you are smart and has been saving Magical Essence I suggest keep doing that until the stat cost is getting rly ridiculous. Is not exactly a requirement, it's just about being efficient. You will be getting them too as you fight monsters so there is that. Floor 8 boss dropped a guarantee Magical Essence. Though not difficult, they do have a high health and they don't give gold. Which is why I
recommend you to save Magical Essence until you really need it and farm on FLOOR 7.

Once you obtain the requirements above you will need to begin with 3 party members. Level up with 3 members until around Level 35. You want to keep as obtaining as much as Gold as possible for stats upgrade. The trick here, you want to focus on your Main Character (Primarily) and your Healer (Secondary). Get that AGI high enough that you start seeing how quickly their turn come up. Also if you haven't already start by increasing their RES and the magic type (Ice> Thunder>Fire>Darkness, ). You don't have to get it too high at first just enough that you don't see 100+ damage on your character. For Main Character (especially warrior) you want to make sure their attack stat is raised and AGI. Sometimes Offense is the best DEFENSE.

Side Note:
I used Maria majority of my 1st playthrough then switch to Dolly kinda at the end. I recommend Dolly because she has more health which will help when you fight Sera and if you don't plan to be an overachiever like me LOL (you will get what I meant below).

Once you hit the Level I mentioned above (you can go higher if you feel more comfortable), reduce the number of member in the party to 2. You will know when you are ready as your main character will start killing enemies with either 1 or 2 attacks. In this part, you will get even more EXP and money than before. This time you will primarily focusing on the Main Character stats. As you keep fighting and upgrading the main character, you will notice that damage become less of an issue. This is when you will swap to only playing by yourself (Yes, I've done it with my Mage even before she reached level 40. I didn't think of taking a screenshot then but this just to show you it's possible to fight as a mage alone)

Start watching those G rolling your way...it's a BEAUTIFUL SIGHT...
.....until you use them to upgrade your main character to max...or if you are like me ended up upgrading your 2 other characters...
So long G....

You may as well do upgrade the other characters as the path to level 50 is still grindy no matter what. I suggest focusing on their magic related defense to prep them for Sera. You can prob kill Sera without going as far as LVL 50 (I didn't try because I know I wanted the LVL 50 achievement) but I bet you still need good magic defense to stand a chance with her.

I personally used Iris and Dolly on my Warrior path and maxed their stats (with one exception each as shown below).

SPECIFICS

This is my personal recommendation.

Warrior:
Claymore is your BEST FRIEND. I think it's the best weapon fighting on this floor even comparing to Excalibur.

Mage:
Ocean Rod hands down. You need ICE magic to quickly dispose the monster on Floor 7.
I recommend Spirit Vestment for the MP regen boost.
Also get a few Fish Pate just as back up
Learn the enemies. How much damage they do to you? If you pay attention correctly you begin to know when to use focus and rarely ever need to use Fish Pate (if ever).

At some point you get to do this (most mp efficient when combine with Spirit Vestment MP regen):
Icebolt:
Minotaur (1 hit)
Furball (1 hit)
Jade Golem (1 hit)
Metal Slime (2 hit)

Ice Shrapnel:
Cyclops (1 hit)
Chimera (2 hit)

ABOUT SERA
(Wouldn't it be great if that's how it work? Perfect time to temporarily disable your stamina setting)

Sera final form can still do some massive damage even for LVL 50 characters (which I think is great! It made her feel like a true powerful character). I won't put details on how to beat her, I think it's part of the fun. You should be okay if you come prepared with food just incase and your magic defense is good. Someone else created a guide on how to beat her if you really need a guide. :)

For some reason I can't do Hilda's Sales Event anymore I already have a completed save file but I think I missed one day so I didn't get the achievement so I tried setting up a new save file but for some reason I cannot get the event to trigger at all, like I get the red exclamation mark by the shop so I go to it but the event does not happen it just the store as normal and when I leave the store the red exclamation mark is no longer there, so I am unable to get Thank you for your Patronage which is the only achievement I have left.

As far as Lily, it was a joke. I'm surprised you missed it unless it's an added scene from updates? =o .

Oh, btw - for "That was Easy!" achievement you don't have to play as warrior class, any will trigger the event and the fight is lot easier than 8th floor bosses :D
I've never played as warrior (and only warrior) tbh xD
