Thanks for the reminder! Updated the FAQ and credited.
I know of one way to play against people using a deck containing un-owned cards:
1. The person you want to play has to be in your friends list, and has to own the cards you want to use
2. Follow the above instructions to save your deck
3. In the SOCIAL PLAY section, use the CHALLENGE A FRIEND mode
4. In the game settings screen, check the 'Share deck' option
5. Your friend can select your deck and save it into their own collection
6. Do step 3 and 4 again to set up a game
7. This time your friend checks 'Share deck'
8. You should now see it at the top of the list after you click 'Choose deck'
