"I made this stock a couple months back. It was made to improve upon my first version by extending the front controller rest, making the body lighter, making it easier to remove the Nerf stock, and to be generally more stable. The Nerf stock can be swapped out for whatever kind of stock you want (I prefer the Recon Mk2's stock because it's light and has a nice L shape) and can do so on the fly.

I built this out of a 1 & 3/8 inch square tube that I scavenged off an old plastic shelf and used a crappy dremel tool to cut out 4 parts that create the full body. The parts are cut like puzzle pieces to help with structural integrity and I glued them together with a mix of super glue and hot glue (I didn't want any tape to cut down on weight). I cut out relief holes to even further lower the weight. The cup is molded to the shape of the Vive wand in hot glue (cause it's cheap and easy). The body of the stock is held onto the wand by friction and pressure from the sides of the tube. Other than that the wand's strap goes through the bottom and is on my wrist, which helps further stabilize the wand in the body/ cup. The front piece is cut and molded with hot glue so that I can press my other wand against it and I have cut another curved relief in that part to allow usage of the full Vive touch pad.

This stock is made to be an extension of my hand and I can use my hands normally to throw grenades, swings knives, pick stuff up, etc.. If I feel that I don't need the stock during game-play I can easily unlatch the stock from the body and put it in my pocket, then slap it back on when I need it again.

I hope this inspires some of you to make something similar :)"

@anthony its not about aiming, its about immersion- which is what VR is all about. don't diss him for actually trying to create something which boost said immersion using his own thoughts.
