Getting Started: Character Choices
As you're probably aware there are 4 characters you can play as in Bleed, Wryn, Robowryn, White Mk. I and the Rival. While Wryn is the balanced all-around ok character, the others have special traits and abilities that make them stand out. While I would recommend the Rival for arcade mode, as he's a difficult but rewarding character to use, I'll instead recommend Wryn because, well, you obviously suck at Bleed. I mean, you clicked on the guide, didn't you?

Getting Started: Weapon Choices
With 12 weapons to choose from, which are the best?

Primary Choice: Dual Pistols
The stock weapon is, most definitely, the best weapon to use for your primary weapon. It takes out enemies with ease and with a high fire rate, bad aim can easily be corrected. You won't be using the pistols much on bosses though, that job goes to...

Secondary Choice: White
Easily the most powerful weapon in the game in the right hands. As your rank increases, so will the speed and firerate of each shot, quickly bringing each of the bosses to their knees. You can unlock this by beating Story Mode on V.Hard and Arcade mode on Easy, but you don't need to know that as you suck at Arcade at the moment.
Tips and Tricks: Overall Strategy
1: Know when to use White
White needs to be ranked up to be good, and one wrong move will downgrade your rank by a large ammount. This is why I recommend you only use the Dual Pistols to start with, switching to White only for the bosses. However, a good time to use White during the stages is when you hit an A rank. The second your rank goes lower than that, switch back to your Pistols. On bosses however, always use the white unless your rank drops below a B. There, the pistols are a better option due to them being stronger and having a larger range.

2: Abuse the hell out of Bullet-time
The main reason I recommend you play as Wryn. Her bullet-time allows for easy dodging and shooting, where characters like the Rival do not. You also use it for quite a long time before it runs out, and it recharges relatively fast (Unless you don't have the powerup from the shop that doubles the recharge rate, which you SHOULD) meaning you should use it as much as possible.

3: Don't rush
Rushing is possibly one of the worst things you can do. If you rush, you'll make a lot more mistakes. just take it slow and you'll do fine.

4: Bullet-time spamming
Another good reason to use Wryn. With the double recharge on bullet-time you can buy from the shop, it allows you to rapidly spam the bullet-time button which keeps things slow while not using much bullet-time up. This tactic makes taking out Bunny Rockette a breeze.

5: Use a controller
Just trust me on this one. A controller is so much easier to use. I recommend you use an Xbox 360 controller. If you don't have one, tough luck.
Tips and Tricks: Stage 1
Note: This guide is NOT a walkthrough. It merely gives you lots of easy tips to help you through each stage

Area 1: The Manor's Interior

This is a very easy segment which you shouldn't have too much trouble with. Try not to take out all the enemies at once as you'll want to build as much rank up as possible.

Area 2: The Outer Wall

Another easy segment. Be sure to stay well away from the kittehs littered around the stage.

Area 3: Barrels Everywhere

Those barrels are extremely useful at maintaining a high rank. Try not to rush up, and instead slowly work your way up, clearing thrown barrels and taking out the kittehs.

Area 4: The Ambush

Easy/Normal: This segment should be fairly easy for you, just climb up and don't let your guard down.
Hard/V.Hard: This segment is mostly practice on higher difficulties. As you practice, you'll get the timings down for the minigun fire and you'll know when to take cover behind the many walls on your way up.

Miniboss: Chopper Core

A very VERY easy boss to take out. When using the white, high-level shots will take the missiles out in one blow, meaning the rain of missiles from above should be easy to deal with. When the chopper backs up to fire the minigun, run straight towards it and all of the shots will miss you.

Boss: Guppy

First Phase: This should give you no trouble at all. With an S rank, just keep shooting at Guppy using White and he'll enter phase two before he has a chance to shoot you with a slimeball or drop on top of you.
Second Phase: Still relatively easy. Make the smaller parts of him your top priority, as the more of them there are, the harder your job will be. Be sure to listen out for the audio cues when the 4 smaller chunks go to throw slimeballs at you and dodge accordingly.
Tips and Tricks: Stage 2
Area 1: Drilling Down

I really recommend you don't use White here. It kills the maggots extremely quickly, meaning that there will be times with nothing on the screen which will drain your rank. Use the pistols.

Area 2: Main Cave

This section is fairly straight-forward, just head through and watch your toes on higher difficulties, as the damn maggots come through the floor. The vertical segment is a great place to farm rank on the boulders that drop.

Area 3: Maggots and Geysers

One of the only segments in the game I recommend you rush through. Yet again, keep a lookout for burrowing maggots and fly past the geysers as quickly as possible.

Area 4: Pipeline

This section is a good one to rush through, too. The faster you head through, the less you have to deal with Gibby and Stu. Keep an eye on the Maggot bullets and dodge accordingly.

Boss: Gibby and Stu

Man, I hate these guys. Try to kill them as quickly as possible.
First Phase: As they jump through the air, keep an eye on where they'll land. They'll often shoot another bullet as they enter the ground, which can be a pain to dodge.
Second Phase: They'll do one of their multiple attacks here, then switch back to the first phase. It all comes down to practice here. If you feel the need to switch the Pistols the the Katana to deflect that hard-to-dodge attack where they both fly past the screen, feel free to. Just bear in mind you'll need the pistols for the next area.
Tips and Tricks: Stage 3
Area 1: Breaking and Entering

Take out the large robots as quickly as you can, with bullet-time if preferable. On easier difficulties, I recommend running into every laser to spawn more little bots, making it easy to maintain rank.
On harder difficulties, stay well clear of the lasers, as the ammount of bots that spawn from them is very high.

Area 2: Need a lift?

To take out the multiple waves of smaller robots, spam the bullet-time as much as you can, as it'll make taking them out much easier.

Miniboss: Spider Core

Another simple boss. When he fires a volley of bombs on top of you, use bullet-time and White should take care of the rest. When he goes to fire his minigun pause and switch your dual pistols for the Katana, and slash them away. Switch the Katana back to the Pistols once the boss is dead.

Area 3: Security Breach

Dash for the wall of lasers as FAST AS YOU CAN. This allows for you to maintain your rank. If you somehow don't make it in time, just walk slowly and take out the tiny bots. You'll still be able to build up a high rank. Use bullet-time as you go down the last tunnel, as occasionally bots will spawn inside the tube and can knock your rank down.

Boss: White Mk. II

Rather easy, be sure to bullet-time spam to get lots of hits in when the core is exposed. When it begins to bounce, Get out of the way, immediately, and stay far away until the attack ends. When it throws the shield, be sure to be in a spot where you can get lots of shots in.
Tips and Tricks: Stage 4
Area 1: Top of the Bullet Train

All Pistols here. Be sure to use bullet-time a lot, as the enemies don't telegraph their attacks. You should have done this stage enough to have the pacing down for when the train goes into the tunnels.

Area 2: Leaving the Tunnel

Run straight through and keep shooting your pistols directly down the train to avoid enemy confrontation. If you think you can manage it, take out the enemies on top of one of the carts to keep your rank going.

Miniboss: Mantis Core

Before you approach the boss, keep dashing forward like mad. Bullet-time before he smashes his needle claw down and keep dashing. You should make it out before he smashes it down again.
First Phase: He'll shoot 3 rows of bullets at you which are easily dodgeable by moving left and right.
Second Phase: He'll usually spray a bunch of bullets at you from left to right the first time, then go back to the first phase. On the second time, he'll try to stab you with his needle claw again, so bullet0time and dodge away. The third time, OR if you have max rank and you take his health down extremely quickly, he should lift up slightly, which is your cue to get out of the way. He'll then bodyslam onto the train cart, which if you don't dodge, does a lot of damage to you. After that he'll go back to phase one. His pattern is quite unpredictable sometimes, but aslong as you know the signs of what attack he'll do, you'll be able to ace it in no time.

Area 3: The Rockette Ship

This section can be a pain. Take note that the smaller and larger shots of the ship's cannons move at varying speeds. Try to get the timing down for when the big cannon will fire so you can dodge accordingly.

Boss: Bunny Rockette

Arguably the easiest boss in the entire game. If you use the bullet-time spam exploit, she'll always be visible. Just wail on her with White and she'll barely have chance to do her flying around twice. The bullets she fires are very easy to avoid, too.
Tips and Tricks: Stage 5
Area 1: The Entrance

A very easy section. Just keep shooting the batallion bacteria as they appear. This area is a very difficult place to lose your rank in too, as there are lots of them.

Area 2: Laser Countermeasures

One of the other places I recommend you rush through. Dash and head your way through as fast as you can until you make your way to the lasers that move left and right. In this section, make sure to only kill the enemies when you need to to maintain rank, and go through as carefully as possible to avoid taking damage from the big laser.

Near the end of this segment there will be a sideways S shape you'll need to head through, with different ammounts of lasers there depending on what difficulty you do the stage on. This area should be easy with a good ammount of practice.

Miniboss 1: Laser Bots

This boss is an incredible pain in the ass. I won't even bother explaining it, just practice it as much as you can until you can nail it without taking any damage.

Area 3: Rushing Ahead

This area's very easy as long as you use lots of bullet-time. Make sure to keep each one of the energy balls as small as possible to make it as easy as possible to dash through them.

Miniboss 2: Mirror Core

As long as you have an S rank up to this point, Mirror Core should be extremely easy. He'll fire off his lasers and get part-way into his second phase. This isn't a boss you can practice in Challenge Mode, either, so you'll just have to practice the stage lots until you can do it everytime.

Area 4: Goo Tubes

Pistol this section, and simply bullet-time and weave your way through all the goo. Just before the boss, you can farm the two sets of goo pipes to get some easy rank.

Boss: Battalion

Fist: When it's about to punch, don't jump straight over it, jump PAST it. This way you'll avoid the splash of bacteria from the wall.
Dolphin: Having a controller here helps a lot. Dodge the bacteria as he enters the ground, and when your controller rumbles, dash away from where you're standing twice. You should miss most of it.
Rocket: This one's actually rather easy, much to many people's disbelief. As it heads towards you, dash up and then past it. Then use the last dash to weave around the bacteria trail the ship makes.
Bomb: Get as far away as possible and bullet-time weave your way past it.
Tips and Tricks: Stage 6
Area 1: Down the Hatch

Make sure to bullet-time whenever you make a risky jump, as at this point quite a few of you will be at low health.

Area 2: Stomach Acid

Make taking out the purple cells your top priority here, as on harder difficulties they'll shoot at you. In the upward section with the destroyable blocks, be extremely careful where you dash.

Miniboss: Bubble Core

Arguably the hardest boss in the game.
First Phase: He'll spray bubbles out, and after a while the bubbles will make a noise and all pop sending lasers your way.
Second Phase: He'll either roll around the edge rapidly spraying bubbles or he'll bounce around in diagonal directions across the room. Make sure to clear the bubbles out to not overcrowd the screen with lasers.
Alternatively, if you have max rank here, shoot him as much as possible so he doesn't enter his second phase.

Area 3: Bubbles, Bubbles Everywhere

Make sure to destroy ALL of the bubbles in your way before advancing. If the dragon begins to move, make sure to shoot the bubbles coming from the side that they're falling down from. Be VERY careful around the bubbles that shoot bullets around them, and dodge accordingly.

Boss: Dragon Heart

This boss has 3 attacks, each one being fairly fairly easy to avoid.
If the turrets near the heart aim down:
  • Rocks will fall out of them, and will bounce around on the moving floor. Bullet-time spam helps a lot here.
If the turrets near the heart aim at you:
  • The walls may shake and head towards you, causing the turrets to fire bubbles out of them. Make sure to bullet-time spam, and shoot the bubbles first. Then when there are no bubbles, work on moving the walls until more bubbles show up
  • The turrets may shoot bullets at you, which are quite easily avoided with bullet-time spam.
Tips and Tricks: Stage 7
Area 1: The Shrines of Heroes Past

Just take your time through here, and remember to bullet-time spam.

Area 2-1: The Descent (Battalion)

Now that there are two of them, when they both do attacks, focus on dodging the one you find the hardest to avoid.

Area 2-2: The Descent (Bunny Rockette)

Just remember to bullet-time spam and this segment will be incredibly easy. Focus on one of them, and when that one dies, aim for the other one.

Area 2-3: The Descent (White Mk. II)

This is a tough one. Try to make sure the room doesn't clog with missiles, and take them on one at a time. If you're struggling, spawn two of them in Challenge mode and keep practicing until you can take them both out without taking damage.

Area 2-4: The Descent (Gibby and Stu)

There's a hell of a lot going on in this room. At the start, focus on dodging the bullets more than anything as there'll be lots of them. Then dodge whichever second phase attack you find the toughest. Rinse and repeat and you should be done.

Area 2-5: The Descent (Guppy)

A relatively easy area. Keep the tactics from the first time in mind. Aim for one, and stop it doing it's stomp/slimeball throw, and dodge the other one's attack. Then take out the 4 smaller ones first as to not fill the room with the smaller flies.

Final Boss: That Blonde Idiot (Rival)

Now, it all comes down to this. You NEED, I repeat, NEED to practice this guy in Challenge mode until you can do it with your eyes closed. I'll quickly run through every attack he does.
Katana: The second he pulls this out, STOP SHOOTING AND RUN. You need to stay as FAR AWAY as possible from him when he does this, otherwise he's going to cut you.
Pistols: Fairly easy to dodge with bullet spam, just try to keep your distance.
Rockets: Rather annoying to dodge as they slowly increase in speed as they travel. Be sure to bullet-spam. When he jumps around quickly, he's about to fire loads of them, so slowly move away from him from your current spot and you should dodge them all. If he fires them on the ground, you'll have to bullet-time and jump over them.
Mines: An INFURIATING attack to dodge. Stay close to him and slowly move your position while avoiding the mines. This way they won't be so spread out, making it a little easier to get out of the way of them.
Detonator: The easiest of the bunch. Just remember the timing from earlier on the roof and dodge accordingly, perhaps use bullet-time to keep your aim locked onto him.
Still Struggling? Practice!
Practice each stage over and over until you can do it every time without taking any damage and you'll get the hang of it eventually. Most bosses can be fought over and over in Challenge Mode, allowing for some easy practice. The rest of them can be practiced when you do the stages and over again. Remember, practice makes perfect!

I did this achievement on PS4 without any guide and having to discover this tatics at my own,it was very painful indeed

I've yet to actually attempt this achievement myself, but when doing as much research as I possibly could to ease the eventual (self induced, masochistic) pain that will probably come about as a result of attempting it, I found out that not only did the developer actually try to get their own achievement, and succeed, but did so with default weapons, and posted the entire run to their Youtube channel.

Thus, if anyone wants to see this in action and study their crazy strategies, then please refer to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mA0OqXpgebg

It's admittedly comforting to see a dev not only actually attempt something they programmed in (I swear some people just make achievements on the basis of "Eh, somebody'll do it" without actually seeing if anyone can), but succeed with just a sliver of health. In other words, if anybody is reading because difficulty was had, know the creator of the game just barely made it through, and you're probably not as bad as you think.

Stopped reading on "If you don't have a controller, tough luck."

It's just a matter of which you prefer. When it comes down to it, with a twin stick setup, mouse works best for precision and two sticks work best for quickly swapping your direction of fire. The only time I really feel like precision is needed is when you rock the laser rifle, so if you're good with your aim, go for it.

People say to use a controller but its 8x easier for me with the mouse. Is that a problem? :conwayheadscratch:

More than anything it's about getting that muscle memory down for the stages, and keeping the practice on those boss fights. Once you've played it enough it becomes second nature, practically.

Arcade on Very Hard is very hard.

With twin-stick shooters, using two sticks flows a lot better than a keyboard and mouse. The only time the Keyboard and Mouse is extremely potent is with the Laser Rifle. But whatever works best for you, I guess.

Why is an Xbox controller recommended? I play it just fine with Keyboard and mouse, then again, thats just me.
I hate controllers :P
