Achievement Guide (Complete)
By SovietCyborg
Hey there! This is just a general guide for getting all the achievements in A Fisherman's Tale. This was done mostly by me and little help from goodmold, without whom I couldn't have found all the pearls again and the few achievements.
But hopefully this guide helps you to get all the achievements if you get stuck somewhere along the way.

Chapters
Well this is so straight forward that I don't think I need to explain that much.
But just for the format, these "Chapters" Achievements are just completing the game.
No secondary requirement.

Pearls
This section will tell where you can find all the pearls in which chapter.
Oh and all chapters have 3 pearls and you can collect them with items you're holding.
So if you can't reach something, then just make an item larger and reach with that.
Note, all EXPECT the Epilogue have pearls. Just to let you know.

Over there... a pearl! : Find your first magical pearl, hidden somewhere in the little puppet's world.
Simple as that. Just find a pearl, any pearl.

Pearls of a new beginning: Find all the pearls hidden in the Prologue.
1st pearl Right next to the oil lamp behing the sink.
2nd pearl can be found in the chest next to duster.
3rd pearl is on the lighthouse. On the porch above the roof.

Pearls from home: Find all the pearls hidden in Chapter 1
1st pearl can be found under the sink.
2nd pearl you have to reach and wave around the planks above the shelf where the hermit crab is. Little bit hidden but reachable.
3rd pearl can be found on the left window panel after the window has been opened.

Pearls from the depths: Find all the pearls hidden in Chapter 2
1st pearl can be found in the cabinet where you found the hat for the hermit crab.
2nd pearl can be found by the entrance that you rip open off of the lighthouse. It's little bit off to the right above and for this you need to reach with an item (and yes I tried to jump to get this but hit the roof instead). You can set an item near the entrance and use it in it's biggened form to take the pearl.
3rd pearld can be found on the ledge when climbing the ladder through the mirror. Should be somewhere behind the sink and past the match box and possibly further 'till you find it.

Pearls from the Father: Find all the pearls hidden in Chapter 3
1st pearl can be found above the bed in the cabinet with the slidey doors.
2nd pearl to find is at the top of the stairs where the "next door" is.
3rd pearld can be found above the crane controls little to the right. Should be within arms reach.

Pearls from the heights: Find all the pearls hidden in Chapter 4
1st pearl can be found right after you spawn in to this chapter. Just look little to right and above and it should be there.
2nd pearl is on the outside where you spawn. Just look right and it should be right there.
3rd pearl is on the waist level. Opposite of your spawn, around the light of the lighthouse, under the ledge of the table.

Great peal hunter: Find all the magical pearls hidden in the little puppet's world.
Just find the pearls... that's it... do all the previous pearl achievements and you're set.
Other Achievements
These are the achievements which I didn't want to categorize so instead they're in order with the Chapters. Last few are even more miscelanious so you need to figure out when to do those even though I've given hints on how to do them and how I did them.

Almost free: The little puppet sets sail
In Prologue, throw the little puppet out of the window rather than placing it in the rocking chair.

Obsessive cleaner: The very first model... now spotless!
Use the duster to dust off the model of the cabin in Prologue.

Don't make me say no again!: The noble crustacean loses patience.
In Chapter 1 just keep handing items that the hermit crab doesn't want. For example keep offering the books in the chest for a while instead of giving the small hat and life preserver.

Adamantium crustacean: This shell truly is unbreakable!
Just hit the shell with the fire poker after the hermit crab is outside. I hit it when it was still on the trophy podium so hit it before taking it just to be sure.

Bad food habits: Frustrate the big tuna.
Just let the tuna wait for a long time for the sardines/canned fish. Also I hit the tuna at the same time I got the achievement but that probably didn't trigger it. It just too a really long time.

The tornado: A tornado has turned the place upside down, carrying away 25 objects in the whirlwind!
I believe that this achievement is just getting 25 objects outside of your own cabin. I completed this by getting a big bucket and spinning it around the cabin in Chapter 2.

A steady routine: Cheer up the tiny Fisherman... even at the depths of the ocean.
Throw a peace of wood into the furnace and close it while everything is submerged in water in Chapter 2.

Size does matter: Grab one of the very large objects during Chapter 3.
While picking the ship pieces from the water, just make sure to lift the small pieces (from above) next to the lighthouse so you can grab them. Hard to explain but it's simple. Small pieces to small lighthouse.

Superior protection for a healthy mouth!: Get these shark teeth all shiny and clean!
In Chapter 3 there's a shark mouth skeleton on the left of the table on the shelf. Grab that and brush the teeth with a toothbrush found in the top middle drawer of the same table with the boat on it.

Woops...: Throw away the last match in the whole universe.
Doable only in Chapter 4 at the top of the lighthouse. Simply just throw the match outside the window behind your spawn. The match spawns back naturally so it's fine.

Flame-bearer: A very big matchbox for a very tiny fisherman.
In Chapter 4 you need to pass the matchbox to the smallest fisherman in the lighthouse, and maybe light up a matchstick with the smallest fisherman.

Farewell, tiny puppet: One last pat on the tiny puppet's shoulder.
In the epilogue you just pat the puppet laying in the top of the lighthouse.

Economy of means: Finish the game by grabbing less than 150 objects.
Simple ain't it. Still less than 0.1 players have this.

Hand in hand: Give an object to yourself.
Just as the description tells. Just give an object up and grab it from the model you. Can be done in Chapter 1, 2 and maybe 4.

Dare the impossible: Try to grab the tiny puppet in the model.
Easy as the description. Just try to grab yourself in the model. Can be done in Chapter 1, 2 and maybe 4.

Homerun!: Throw an object beyond the limits of your world.
I found it easiest to get myself a bucket in Chapter 2 and make it larger. Then just swing that bad boy in the cabin area for a while and you should knock something out. Good for the Tornado Achievement as well.

Hi, thanks for the guide.
Can anyone post a screenshot or videoclip for
"Size does matter: Grab one of the very large objects during Chapter 3."
Because I do not understand what you mean with this:
"While picking the ship pieces from the water, just make sure to lift the small pieces (from above) next to the lighthouse so you can grab them. Hard to explain but it's simple. Small pieces to small lighthouse."
Sorry. Maybe foreign language issue on my side.

And 2nd problem for me, I can't achieve the "Over there... a pearl!" and "Pearls of a new beginning" achievment, even thoug I got all 3 pearls and also the "Great peal hunter:" achievement. So this is a bug, but any ideas how to get rid of the bug?

When it comes to Economy of means, I may have found something. Today I tried final level just by itself, wanted to practice before the real run. Did good, few grabs and thats it. Then I started attempt. After finishing chapter 4, I got the achievement. My guess is that game counted my first practice run on chapter 5 and then combined it with the rest (where I had like 85 grabs). In the theory, and until someone confirms it it will stay a theory, you could do the worst chapters first (4 and 5, since that crane is a bit anoying part) and then do the rest.

Bad food habits: Frustrate the big tuna.

Take a sardine out of the can, place it on the barrel by the opened wall, go to the model and pick up the VERY SMALL sardine. Throw this from the farthest edge by the tuna's mouth.

@vincendio I find that you really don't need to count...just touch/interact as little as possible and you will get it without problems. Just remember the solutions of the puzzles so you don't do unnecessary interactions (especially in the lighthous with the matchsticks).

@vincendio Counting, mentally. I played the game twice through and on the second time I counted all of the interactions when I grabbed something, even when I grabbed an item multiple times or the movement sticks for the crane. If there is a way to find it then I don't know since it's been so long and I can't care to reinstall the game to find out. So yeah, just replay and count.

How do you find your progression per chapter for economy of means? its the only one im stuck on
rogermorse 20 Dec, 2021 @ 2:51pm
ECONOMY OF MEANS: I got it by replaying all chapters until the rope climb. During the rope climb, make sure you use the "longer hands" on the rope so you save a lot of interactions....and for the rest of the game, just remember all the puzzle solutions since you already played the whole game, so you save all the touches as much as possible. You don't have to wait for the characters to speak most of the time, you can solve the puzzles instantly and it will skip a lot of dialogues, making the ECONOMY run much faster to go through....I also tried to teleport as little as possible, not sure if it counts as "interaction". In the crane level it is particularly helpful to teleport directly from one floor to the other (one teleport)....but as I said, not sure if teleporting counts.

The guide should be updated because many useful infos that are in the comments should actually be in the guide. I will sum up what worked for me for the most difficult achievements: TORNADO: just go to the model in chapter 3 after you opened the lighthouse door, grab the fireplace metal thingy and move around all the objects inside the model (including the place where the tuna is), you will easily reach 25 and get the achievement. HOMERUN: from chapter 2, you can just throw an object so that you reach the big window outside of your own size cabin. It is pretty easy if you use the "longer hands", I needed 5 or 6 tries but then I succeded. Make sure you throw your object in the very big window of the cabin one size bigger than your own.

I think "Economy of means" might track interactions, rather than just picking up objects. E.g. fewer moves between winch controls, fewer grabs on the rope when ascending outside the lighthouse.

It popped for me after replaying Chapter 3, so it seems like "minimum interactions" are tracked per-chapter.

When placing the completed boat at its mooring it can be thrown rather than using the winch, saving using the controls again.
