How to make any combination of interface and voice languages.

After one of the updates, for some unknown reason, became impossible to set different languages for interface and ingame voices by conventional means. That's the way how i fixed it.

После одного из обновлений, по неизвестным причинам стало невозможным обычными средствами установить произвольную комбинацию языков озвучки и интерфейса. Вот как я это исправил.

Menu language: Russian
Voice language: Russian

Purpose:
Menu language: Russian
Voice language: English

Steps:
(steps 1 and 5 are not necessary, just save your time and traffic on update)

1. Backup this files:
\SteamApps\common\Assassin's Creed 3\sounddata\PC\sounds_rus.pck
\SteamApps\common\Assassin's Creed 3\multi\sounddata\Pc\sounds_rus.pck
2. Change the language of the game in Steam library to the one you want for the voices: English.
3. Wait until auto update finished.
4. Backup this files:
\SteamApps\common\Assassin's Creed 3\sounddata\PC\sounds_eng.pck
\SteamApps\common\Assassin's Creed 3\multi\sounddata\Pc\sounds_eng.pck
\SteamApps\common\Assassin's Creed 3\localization.lang
5. Return back the previously saved files from step 1.
6. Change the language of the game in Steam library to the one you want for the menus: Russian.
7. Wait until auto update finished.
8. Return back the previously saved files from step 4. (overwriting localization.lang).
9. It's done. The goal is achieved: English voice + Russian interface.

Other languages I have not tried, but I think the principle is the same for any combination.

Rus

Исходная ситуация:
Язык меню: русский
Язык озвучки: русский

Цель:
Язык меню: русский
Язык озвучки: английский

Шаги:
(шаги 1 и 5 необязательны, просто экономят время и трафик на обновление)

1. Делаем бэкап файлов
\SteamApps\common\Assassin's Creed 3\sounddata\PC\sounds_rus.pck
\SteamApps\common\Assassin's Creed 3\multi\sounddata\Pc\sounds_rus.pck
2. В Steam в свойствах игры выставляем желаемый язык для озвучки: английский.
3. Ждем пока обновится.
4. Делаем бэкап файлов
\SteamApps\common\Assassin's Creed 3\sounddata\PC\sounds_eng.pck
\SteamApps\common\Assassin's Creed 3\multi\sounddata\Pc\sounds_eng.pck
\SteamApps\common\Assassin's Creed 3\localization.lang
5. Возвращаем на место ранее забэкапленные файлы из шага №1.
6. В Steam в свойствах игры выставляем желаемый язык для интерфейса: русский.
7. Ждем пока обновится.
8. Возвращаем на место ранее забэкапленные файлы из шага №4 (перезаписав localization.lang).
9. Готово. Цель достигнута: английская озвучка + русский интерфейс.

Другие языки не пробовал, но думаю принцип един для любой комбинации.

Файлы с локализациями копировать вовсе необязательно, тк они и так скачиваются. Просто нужно скопировать localization.lang после перевода игры на английский. Затем перевести игру обратно на русский и вставить английскую версию localization.lang

Почему-то сначала игра вообще без голосов стала.
Затем, после пяти попыток замены файлов, все заработало.
ХЗ почему.
На всякий случай, я отключил автоматическое обновление в Uplay.

Actually, it has worked. However, at the language selection menu it appears only: Language: German / Subtitles: German." But when I start the game the audio is in German and the Subs in Portuguese, just as I needed!

It hasn't worked for me: I want audio and menus in German and the subtitles in English, however whenever I paste the localizaition.lang that I saved from Step 4, the game goes back to audio, menus and subtitles German-only. I can make the game to be English audio and menus and to have lots of different languages for subs, only this combination I want I cannot achieve. If anyone has any suggestion, I'd be glad to hear you out. Thanks, nice guide! cпасибо!
