the yellow octagon means oil lamp
the red octagon means the button of the light
the green octagon means EXIT

For those of us who speak English, it looks like the yellow octagon means a lantern light source, red square means a lamp or light switch, and the green arrows are exits (the front door, plus the sister's window). Not sure what the orange characters mean, but I can confirm those are active areas where you can gather necessary documents or look at/comment on items that are important to the ending.
