Campaign DLCs
For any of you who are wondering when to tackle the DLC content in Borderlands 2, here is a small guide that may help!

NOTE: The Campaign DLCs will effectively scale to a player's level when you visit them in Normal mode. These are just the suggested level ranges to work with.

Campaign
Level Range (Playthrough 1, Normal Mode)
Starting Zone
Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty
15-30
Oasis
Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage
15-30
Badass Crater of Badassitude
The Creature Slaughter Dome
25-30
Natural Selection Annex (an area found within the Wildlife Exploitation Preserve)
Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt
30-35
Hunter's Grotto
Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep
30-35
The Unassuming Docks of Potentially Little Importance

Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt and Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep seem to be designed to be attempted after you've completed the Main Quest.

most of the DLC is intended to be completed after the main story, which should have the player around level 30 (we know this because of "Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage" mentioning killing Jack, "Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep" having the statue of Roland at the end, and some other mentions to the main story I can't remember off the top of my head) although I advise doing the DLC when you get to around level 25 since you can easily be over the level cap for the difficulty (30 for NVHM, 50 for TVHM, 90 for UVHM) especially if you complete all the side quests.

being over leveled for the DLC is boring and makes it too easy. which is a shame because the game will over level you really quickly

Bless you for this! Just hit lvl.18 and felt that it was about time to tackle some DLC campaigns. Seems like I can go through two of them to start with.

So if I go into any of them at level 40 they'll scale with me?

@Mr. Kadif Jeaesav
It's at the Wildlife Exploitation Preserve, a bit a ways into the story.

Good to know. I was wondering about the dlc and if it was only for endgame. Glad I can do some now before finishing the story :)

This was great to come across. Just started Tiny Tina's DLC @ lvl32. What would have been better in my opininon is Scale both drops and quest weapons with the level of our characters at any time. Friend stated quest rewards were a low level. But then again its an opininon. Lovin it so far so no major complaints. Thx!

Was wondering why they were so hard to beat at LV. 21. Darn.
