This is a guide covering the various races / classes in the game and how to unlock them.

Races
The following is a list of all races available in 1Quest along with their starting stats / abilities.

Human
Stats: +1 to all stats
Magic: +1 Holy

Dwarf
Stats: +2 Str, +2 Con
Magic: +1 Earth

Elf
Stats: +2 Dex, +2 Int
Magic: +1 to any except Holy/Death

Orc
Stats: +2 Str, +2 Con, +10 Energy
Magic: None

Garuda
Stats: +2 Dex
Magic: +1 Air
Note: also has permanent flight which can be used to fly over water
Classes Overview
All classes in the game as leveled and unlocked by meeting various stat requirements (e.g. Intelligence >= 3, Evocation >= 3 for the ability to hit level 2 Mage) and then going to the classes screen and hitting the level up + button when you have enough xp to spend. Note that every class level gained will increase the amount of xp required to spend to achieve an additional class level in any class, so aside from the xp required to meet each class level requirement it will take the same amount of xp to go from Mage 1 => Mage 5 as it would to get Mage 3 + Priest 3.

Observed Bugs
  • Gaining improvements to existing skills (e.g. Knight 3 - Defensive Stance) requires re-applying the effect to gain the effects from the changes
  • Somehow caused the game to freeze by using the stairs and having ticking poison from a manticore (not sure if related)
Basic (Starter) Classes
The following are the classes available to the player at the beginning of the game. Each class here can be leveled up to 10 and will unlock additional advanced classes at level 5. Hitting level 5 on multiple basic classes will also unlock additional hybrid classes.

Note: stat requirements required for each class go up by 1 for each stat each level (e.g. Mage 2 requires Int 3 / Evo 3 and Mage 3 requires Int 4 / Evo 4, etc)

Mage
    Stat Requirements:
  • Intelligence 2
  • Evocation 2
    Unlocks:
  • Enchanter (Advanced)
  • Summoner (Advanced)
  • Inquisitor (Hybrid - Priest)
  • Arcane Archer (Hybrid - Rogue)
  • Battle Mage (Hybrid - Warrior)
Level 1 - Magic Affinity (Passive)
Reduces the cost of spells by half your class level (minimum 1 energy per spell)
Note: spells do not include class skills

Level 2 - Mage Hand (Active) - Range 7
Allows the mage to open door and chest, or pick up the loot on the floor.

Level 3 - Arcane Boost (Passive)
Grants an arcane point.
Note: One free affinity point, cannot be used for Holy or Death

Level 4 - Arcane Focus (Passive)
Reduces cost exhaustion cost of sustaining spells by 25%.

Level 5 - Power Blast (Passive)
Your blast spells have increased range.

Level 6 - Arcane Boost (Passive)
Grants an arcane point.
Note: One free affinity point, cannot be used for Holy or Death

Level 7 - Teleportation (Active)
Teleports you anywhere in sight.

Level 8 - Rebound (Passive)
Your missile spells now affect an additional target
Note: this can bounce to targets not in line of sight, making it great for attacking enemies around a corner

Level 9 - Arcane Boost (Passive)
Grants an arcane point.
Note: One free affinity point, cannot be used for Holy or Death

Level 10 - Time Stop (Active) - Duration infinite
Stops time as long as you only move or rest. Costs Exhaustion.
Note: this is not a permanent buff, but instead will be canceled upon attacking



Priest
    Stat Requirements:
  • Strength 1
  • Close Combat 1
  • Intelligence 1
  • Transmutation 1

  • Necromancer (Advanced)
  • Oracle (Advanced)
  • Inquisitor (Hybrid - Mage)
  • Punisher (Hybrid - Rogue)

Level 1 - Divine Blessing (Passive)
Increases Strength, Dexterity and Intelligence by half your class level.

Level 2 - Holy Affinity (Passive)
Your god grants you the power of life!
Note: +1 Holy Affinity

Level 3 - Antidote (Active)
Cures Poison

Level 4 - Mesmerize (Active) - Range 7 vs mental - Duration 10
Paralyzes the target until attacked!
Note: lasts until unit is attacked or the duration expires

Level 5 - Death Affinity (Passive)
Your god grants you the power of death!
Note: +1 Death Affinity

Level 6 - Greater Healing (Active)
Heal a large amount of health. Costs Exhaustion.

Level 7 - Divine Shield (Passive)
Your divine shield absorbs half your class level of any damage you take

Level 8 - Divine Intervention (Passive)
Your god won't let you fall in battle!

Level 9 - Power of Life and Death (Passive)
You have mastered the power of life and death!
Note: +1 to both Holy and Death affinities

Level 10 - Divine Avatar (Passive)
Your divine blessing now transforms you into an angel of war


Rogue
    Stat Requirements:
  • Dexterity 2
  • Close Combat 1
  • Ranged Combat 1
    Unlocks:
  • Archer (Advanced)
  • Assassin (Advanced)
  • Arcane Archer (Hybrid - Mage)
  • Punisher (Hybrid - Priest)
  • Ranger (Hybrid - Warrior)
Level 1 - Poison Weapon (Passive)
Your weapons are coated in poison, inflicting additional damages over time.

Level 2 - Combat Reflex (Passive)
Add half your Close Combat skill to your Close Combat Defense, and half your Ranged Combat skill to your Ranged Defense.

Level 3 - Slowing Shot (Active) - Range 6 - Duration 1000
Decreases movement speed of the target.

Level 4 - Armour Piercing (Passive)
Your attacks with daggers and ranged weapons now ignore some (half your class level) of the target armor.

Level 5 - Trap Detection (Passive)
You can detect traps.

Level 6 - Critical Strike (Passive)
Your critical hits chance is increased by 5% for every class level over 5.

Level 7 - Freedom of Movement (Active)
Frees you from root and slow effects. Takes no time

Level 8 - Smoke Screen (Active) - Range 3
Creates smoke that block line of sight
Note: affects a single tile just like the moving "smoke" tiles in swamp areas (except this one doesn't move)

Level 9 - Crippling Strike (Passive)
Enemies are crippled when you strike them quickly, decreasing their attack and defense

Level 10 - Improved Slowing Shot (Passive)
Your Slowing Shoot now has a chance to root your target


Warrior
    Stats Requirements:
  • Strength 2
  • Close Combat 2
    Unlocks
  • Barbarian (Advanced)
  • Knight (Advanced)
  • Battle Mage (Hybrid - Mage)
  • Paladin (Hybrid - Priest)
  • Ranger (Hybrid - Rogue)
Level 1 - Charge (Active) - Range 7
Charge and strikes the target.
Note: player runs in a straight line to the given target

Level 2 - Warriors Stance (Active) - Duration infinite
Increases attack with melee weapon and defense against ranged attack by half your class level

Level 3 - Armour Expert (Passive)
Heavy armor no longer reduce movement speed, add 0.5 armor per point of skill and per point of strength above prerequisite

Level 4 - Weapon Master (Passive)
Increases damage for each melee weapon skill increased above 2
Note: raises damage for ALL melee weapons (so 2 skills above 2 would be +2 for all melee weapons, even those that are unskilled):

Level 5 - Swipe (Active)
Strike all opponent adjacent to the Warrior

Level 6 - Weapon Focus (Passive)
Decrease attack delay with melee weapon by 20%.

Level 7 - Bash (Active) - Range 1 vs physical
Strikes the opponent, dealing additional damage and trying to stun him!

Level 8 - Warrior Stance Mastery (Passive)
Your Warrior's Stance now grant counter attack when attacked in close combat

Level 9 - Heavy Strike (Active) - Range 1
Strikes the opponent and push him away, causing additional damage if it cannot be pushed!

Level 10 - Adrenaline (Passive)
Your kills now grant you additional energy
Advanced Classes
The following classes are unlocked by hitting level 5 in their respective base class. Advanced classes can only be leveled to 5 (unlike the base classes)

Archer
    Stat Requirements:
  • Dexterity 7
  • Ranged Combat 7
Unlocked by: Rogue

Level 1 - Point Blank Shot (Passive)
Allows to use ranged weapon in close combat

Level 2 - Impact Arrow (Active) - Range 6
Shoots with a ranged weapon and pushes the target away
Note: must fire in a straight line - e.g. cannot target enemies that are (+2, +1) from you

Level 3 - Double Shot (Passive)
You have a change (5% per class level) to shoot a second arrow each time you hit with one (and deals damage)

Level 4 - Rapid Fire (Active) - Duration infinite
Decreases attack delay with ranged weapon by 10% + 5% * class level but increases energy cost

Level 5 - Piercing Shot (Passive)
You know how to shoot in the weakest spot of armor, ignore some of it with your ranged weapons

Assassin
    Stat Requirements:
  • Dexterity 7
  • Close Combat 7
Unlocked by: Rogue

Level 1 - No Mercy (Passive)
Your attacks now have a bonus to damage on stun, slows or rooted target

Level 2 - Trap Creation (Active) - Range 3
Creates a trap.

Level 3 - Dual Wield Master (Passive)
Your off hand attacks have now an additional cost (time and energy) reduction of 10% per assassin class level over 2

Level 4 - Master Poisoner (Passive)
Your Poisons are now more efficient if applied multiple times

Level 5 - Death Attack (Active) - Range 3 vs physical
The target must resist or die. Even if it resists, it may be shaken


Barbarian
    Stat Requirements:
  • Strength 7
  • Close Combat 7
Unlocked by: Warrior

Level 1 - Heavy Weapon Mastery (Passive)
Increase your damage with two handed weapon by half of your strength!

Level 2 - Intimidation (Active) - Range 0 vs mental
Instills fear in the heart of your enemies, reducing their efficiency in close combat

Level 3 - Mighty Charge (Passive)
Your Charge now strikes all enemies around you

Level 4 - Fearless (Passive)
Immune to fear and shaken

Level 5 - Rage (Active) - Range 0 - Duration 10
Heals you and transforms you into a killing machine! Costs Exhaustion.


Enchanter
    Stat Requirements:
  • Intelligence 7
  • Enchantment 7
Unlocked by: Mage

Level 1 - Extend Enchantment (Passive)
Extends the duration of your enchantment by 10% per class level

Level 2 - Subversion (Active) - Range 5 - Duration infinite
Take control of a conjured creature as if you are his master!

Level 3 - Undead Manipulation (Passive)
Your master of the enchantment art allow you to manipulate undead now !

Level 4 - Peace of Mind (Passive)
Enchant yourself to keep your calm under any circumstances. This increases your combat efficiency in both attack and defense

Level 5 - Charm (Active) - Range 3 vs mental - Duration 28.5
Makes the target fighting for you. You can only Charm one target at a time.


Knight
    Stat Requirements:
  • Strength 7
  • Shield 5
  • Armor 5
Unlocked by: Warrior

Level 1 - Shield Charge (Active)
Your Charge now grants you armor and Resistance for a brief period
Note: requires an equipped shield

Level 2 - Shield Focus (Passive)
Increases Defense with Shield by half your class level and half your Shield skill above prerequisite
Note: requires an equipped shield

Level 3 - Defensive Stance (Passive)
Your Warrior's Stance now grants an armor bonus

Level 4 - Armour Mastery (Passive)
Increases your body armor value by half and absorption by 1!

Level 5 - Shield Bash (Passive)
You know how to use your shield as a secondary weapon, granting you a free secondary attack
Note: requires an equipped shield


Necromancer
    Stat Requirements:
  • Intelligence 7
  • Conjuration 7
Unlocked by: Priest

Level 1 - Undead Lord (Passive)
Your undead minion got enhanced armor and hit points
Note: affects Skeletons, Ghosts, and Wisps

Level 2 - Undead Familiar (Passive)
Your familiar is now undead and deal damages that ignore armor

Level 3 - Drain Life (Active) - Range 4 vs physical
Drain the life of your target
Note: heals the player

Level 4 - Reanimator (Passive)
Skeletons increase after you kill a living being
Note: only works for living, non-animal enemies you kill (not you minions)
Note: can right click on enemies to see what type(s) they are

Level 5 - Soul Reaper (Passive)
Your kills restore your life and your energy


Oracle
    Stat Requirements:
  • Strength 4
  • Dexterity 4
  • Intelligence 4
  • Constitution 4
Unlocked by: Priest

Level 1 - Mind Perfection (Passive)
You reach perfection of the mind, granting bonus to mental resistance and energy regeneration up to half your maximum energy.

Level 2 - Holy Wave (Active) - Range 0
Calls the power of god, striking all undeads and demons, and healing all living creatures. Costs Exhaustion.
Note: will affect your undead summons

Level 3 - Body Perfection (Passive)
You reach perfection of the body, granting bonus to physical resistance and life regeneration up to half your maximum life.

Level 4 - Mystic Backfire (Passive)
Anything that inflicts damage to you suffer from a mental backfire

Level 5 - Sanctuary (Active) - Duration 3
You enclose yourself into a divine sanctuary, preventing most damages for a limited time


Summoner
    Stat Requirements:
  • Intelligence 7
  • Conjuration 7
Unlocked by: Mage

Level 1 - Enhance Conjuration (Passive)
Your knowledge of conjuration arts makes your conjuration spells last longer and your summons have more hit points!

Level 2 - Banish (Active)
Kills summons instantly if not resisted. This effects every summoned creature you can see.

Level 3 - Share Life (Passive)
Your familiar transfers some of his life force to you when you have less than half your hit points remaining!

Level 4 - Heal Summon (Active) - Range 5
You can infuse more energy into your summon, healing them and prolonging their presence here for a few rounds!

Level 5 - Augment Summoning (Passive)
Your mastery of summoning arts makes your summons stronger in attack, damage, defense, and armor!
Hybrid Classes
The following classes are unlocked by achieving level 5 in both related base classes.


Arcane Archer
    Stat Requirements:
  • Dexterity 6
  • Intelligence 6
Unlocked by:: Mage, Rogue

Level 1 - Seeker Arrows (Passive)
Your arrows can now target every one in range!
Note: arrows are no longer blocked by enemies

Level 2 - Arcane Mark (Active) - Range 6
Shoots an arrow that mark the target, reducing it's ranged defense

Level 3 - Explosive Arrow (Passive)
You have a chance that your arrows explode on impact, striking enemies around your target with smaller arrows

Level 4 - Marksmen Runes Passive)
Your elemental affinities increase your skills with your ranged weapon

Level 5 - Rain of Arrows (Active)
Shoots an arrow on each enemy in range


Battle Mage
    Stat Requirements:
  • Strength 6
  • Intelligence 6
  • Close Combat 6
Unlocked by:: Mage, Warrior

Level 1 - Might And Magic (Passive)
Each Melee strike while have a free offhand launches a free magic missile on the target

Level 2 - Fighter's Runes (Passive)
Your elemental affinities increase your skills with your main hand weapon

Level 3 - Slash And Blast (Passive)
You now launch blast spell with your melee weapon. When casting a blast you also strike enemy in close combat

Level 4 - Arcane Charge (Passive)
You can charge through enemies to get at ones further away while dealing damage to all you touch.

Level 5 - Arcane Body (Active) - Duration 50
Your body becomes pure energy, granting you damage absorption, fast movement, reduced energy cost for main hand weapon and doubles the efficiency of your Fighter's Runes. Cost Exhaustion.


Inquisitor
    Stat Requirements:
  • Intelligence 7
  • Magic 5
  • Resistance 5
Unlocked by:: Mage, Priest

Level 1 - Fire Mark (Passive)
Your fire damaging spells deal additional damage over time.
Note: this damage is in addition to the Burn status.

Level 2 - Purification By Fire (Active - Transmutation) - Range 4 vs physical
Fire attack that tries to dispel most effects on the target, dealing damage for each removed effect
Note: does not trigger Fire Mark

Level 3 - Holy Fire (Passive)
Your Fire affinity is increased by half of your Holy affinity (rounded up)

Level 4 - Burning Blood (Passive)
You can no longer be poisoned

Level 5 - Put To The Question (Active) - Range 1 vs mental
Tries to stun, silence and damage the target. Resisting causes a short silence. Does not work on mindless being.
Note: triggers Fire Mark


Paladin
    Stat Requirements:
  • Strength 5
  • Close Combat 5
  • Holy (without bonus) >= 1
    Note: Holy requirement does not scale with level
Unlocked by:: Priest, Warrior

Level 1 - Holy Weapon (Passive)
You deal additional damage to undeads and demons

Level 2 - Lay on Hands (Passive)
Your Healing spell heals you a little more and increase your constitution for a time

Level 3 - Self Sacrifice (Active) - Range 1
Strikes with your main weapon and deals additional damage. Costs life instead of energy

Level 4 - Disrupt Evil (Passive)
Each of your strike have a chance to banish summoned evil creature

Level 5 - Strength of the Martyr (Passive)
Your wounds make your stronger for a limited time. Maximum effect depends on your Holy affinity.


Punisher
    Stat Requirements:
  • Dexterity 5
  • Throw 5
  • Death (without bonus) >= 1
    Note: Death requirement does not scale with level
    Note: requires Holy (without bonus) >= 1 for rank 5
Unlocked by:: Priest, Rogue

Level 1 - Death Poison (Passive)
Your poison damage is increased by your death affinity

Level 2 - Blinding Light (Active) - Range 0 vs physical
Creates a flash of light that reduce hit chance of enemies. May confuse adjacent enemies
Note: uses throw skill (even if a ranged weapon is equipped)

Level 3 - Vampiric Strike (Passive)
Deals additional damage that heal you if you hit with two weapons at the same time. Does not work on undead or construct.

Level 4 - Punishment (Passive)
You reflect part of the damages you suffer back on the attacker

Level 5 - Holy Hand Grenade (Active) - Range 6 vs spell
Ranged area attack that can target beyond obstacles
Note: affects a 3x3 area centered at the target location
Note: uses throw skill (even if a ranged weapon is equipped)


Ranger
    Stat Requirements:
  • Dexterity 6
  • Close Combat 6
  • Ranged Combat 6
Unlocked by:: Rogue, Warrior

Level 1 - Run (Passive)
Your Charge can now target empty squares

Level 2 - Versatility (Passive)
Weapon Master and Armour piercing now works with all weapons, close combat or ranged
Note: Weapon Master applies to ranged weapons, but does not gain additional benefit from it
Note: might be bugged, seems to only be giving an additional point of damage to weapons for every 2 skills

Level 3 - Herbal Healing (Active) - Duration infinite
Heals you over time up to half your maximum life, and increase your physical resistance while active.

Level 4 - Faster Movement (Passive)
You move faster!

Level 5 - Predator Instinct (Passive)
When charging an enemy, you first shoot a ranged attack, then charge and strike with your close combat weapons

I've got Death and Holy affinity to 2, Level 6 Priest and selected Priest at Character Creation, 7 Intelligence and 7 Conjuration, 6 Transmutation, 3 Magic.
Your guide says the only restrictions to becoming a Necromancer are 7 Int 7 Conj Class: Priest
but I have all those and more and I still cannot choose Necromancer.
