"Just an example of how I'd design the map interface if I'd work for Egosoft as a UI designer. It doesn't contain many things, like filters and so on, but I have some ideas about how to revamp the interface and different menu sections, and design the user flow.

(It's just a design exercise for me. I'm not planning to make this, I don't have the technical skills, and probably the engine not allowing this kind of modifications either.)"

It might look nice but do not forget ergonomics please. It's not that easy to understand what you are looking at and what is where.

If you could also see the weapon range of the different ships (especially L/XL ships) it would be perfect.

What about moving the trade filters boxes into the bottom right corner, which is freeand unused? in form of a list ?
