Not Working as Intended
I can't place any more blocks in my sandbox 'hood, when I delete one I can add it back.
  • You probably hit the max block limit, I didn't even notice it when I created my first hood. Save your 'hood, go back to main menu, go to sandbox like you are going to create a new 'hood, update max block slider. re-load your hood, should be able to add more blocks now.

I have more than 1000 blocks but didn't get master builder (or other X blocks builder achievement).
  • Well if you followed the instructions above, bummer, because it seems like you have to do the 1000 blocks in one session. So if you are going for the builder achievements make sure you start your game board with a high enough maximum so you don't have to reload.

Chapter 5 says there are still decayed blocks:
  • Make sure to use the Data Viz decay menu, decayed blocks are much easier to see, and then use the slice up/slice down to make sue you have gone through every level.
  • This solves most of the issues, but sometimes if you have removed the wrong blocks in a previous chapter it may not be fixable without going back to the previous chapters. I had deleted the initial apartment block and another pre-built item in Chapter 1 by mistake in my first playthrough. In my case I backed up to the beginning and redid them all being very careful not to delete any blocks and making sure I knew exactly where I placed everything. Had no trouble on that playthrough. Have also seen people say they only needed to back up to Chapter 3 but it seems like my error was deleting the blocks in Chapter 1.

I suddenly ran out of resource X but it doesn't even say the trend is negative
  • It seems that sometimes the simulation and the trends get out of sync. I've noticed this mostly when running large hoods or at least playing for a very long session. Take a break and doing a save and load once in a while seems like a good idea.

I haven't had any events for a long time
  • This also seems to happen when playing for a long time. As above, take a break and doing a save and load once in a while seems like a good idea.

Caffe Nation is impossible
  • It can certainly seem that way, there seems to be an intermittent bug that messes up the timer. I got too frustrated to keep testing it after I succeeded on the challange to confirm but it appears it happens more often if you complete an objective with a lot of time left.
  • To succeed it seems best to start building the prereqs for the next stage before the current one completes and try not to complete until close to the time limit for each. This is harder to time for the first stage but much easier for the ones where you essentially have to build X number of buildings, just save the last one until you are ready.
  • I also ran the simulation at 8Xs to maximise resource cycles. This does not speed up the timer.
  • You will probably have to run this one multiple times until you get into a rythymn, a very meta challenge!

Just a list of things I haven't been able to find a solution for how to do or would be nice to have in the future:
  • Some way to find the blocks with blue resources, they do not show up as an input or output when selecting a resource
  • Ability to elect a resource and see which blocks are currently producing or using that resource
  • Ability to sort resources (by trend, by total, alpha, by type)
  • The inhabitants list runs out of room
  • A way to keep track resource chains, click on X resource see which blocks produce without having to manually scan through menus
  • if you do not have a resource already being produced you can't preview inputs/outputs
  • Some way to know the population/block count
  • A way to sort or highlight negative resources
  • Ability to track discovered synergies in game or at least a synergy Data Viz
  • Seems like some resources should decay and would not be able to store forever without some related storage blocks
  • Ablility to adjust production levels of blocks, i.e. run at half speed, or at least turn off, etc.s to avoid huge over production of resources without having to delete and re-build blocks constantly
  • Integrate the inhabitants database into the game screen
  • Ability to create warnings, "Notify me if I go below X on a resource"
  • Some glitchy in trying to place blocks precisely in a busy space, in this case it would be helpful to have the slice feature have an option to dnot allow you to edit other levels.
  • Ability to view top-down
  • Workshop/modding (or more content pack dlc), ability to skin (replace cosmetic) and or even create custom blocks with new stats.
  • Some resources seem to have no purpose or use (olives?), some way to sell or use

Just weird:
  • When rotating/zooming the view the rain alternated between moving vertically and horizontally
