How to disable Shopping Spree's Mall Music
By Littlefoot and 1 collaborators
NOTE: This guide was originally made by my friend, TigerKirby and posted on the KF2 subreddit. However, he's been banned from the KF2 forums and, because of Valve's ridicolous community policies, can't post anything in the KF2 hub as a result. He asked me to post it here for him, and i agreed to do it.

Everything that follows will be his words:

I don't know who at Tripwire had the idea to force ambient mall music onto us when playing Shopping Spree but well... they did. And it's annoying. And it can't be turned off in-game. Luckily us PC users have the magic of deleting files modding to get rid of this discount Dead Rising soundtrack. :)

Before I start a big thanks to Delta#7148 on the Killing Floor 2 Discord for helping me figure out how to do this. I didn't know what file to delete and he told me which one, so I'm simply passing on the message.

How to Disable Mall Music
Before you do ANYTHING I would HIGHLY suggest closing Killing Floor 2! You're going to be tampering with the game's files and the last thing you want is to tamper with files while a program is running!

------------------------

Anyways: The first thing you're going to want to do is open your Killing Floor 2 folder. The default path for this should be:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\killingfloor2

If you don't have Steam / Killing Floor 2 installed on your C drive just go to whatever drive you have Killing Floor 2 installed in and search for the Steam folder. (It may be named "SteamLibrary" as well.) From there go to

steamapps\common\killingfloor2

If you're still having trouble finding it you can open your steam library and right click on Killing Floor 2 to open a drop-down menu. Click on "properties" and then open the "local files" tab (third tab.) Click on "browse local game files" (first button) to immediately open the killingfloor2 folder in a new file explorer tab.

From the killingfloor2 folder navigate the following path:

KFGame\BrewedPC\Packages\Audio\Ambient

You'll know you're in the right place when you find a bunch of files that look like "WW _ ENV _ (Name of map).upk" These files are the ambient sounds for every map. Look for WW_ENV_ShoppingSpree.upk and when you find it remove it from the folder. I'd suggest making a copy in case you want to enable the mall music again but if not just delete it.

Now launch Killing Floor 2 and load up Shopping Spree in a solo match. If it worked you shouldn't hear the Patriarch's announcements on the pre-match lobby screen. (Or the rain and lightning sounds.) To my knowledge there are no other important ambient sound effects on Shopping Spree so... congradulations! You got rid of the annoying mall music! :)
I changed my mind; give me back the Dead Rising music!
If you still have the WW_ENV_ShoppingSpree.upk file just drag it back into the Ambient sounds folder. Simple. :)

If not go to your Steam library and right click on Killing Floor 2. Click properties and go to Local Files (third tab.) From there click "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" (second last button.) This will take some time but it will automatically replace any missing files, including the file for Shopping Spree's mall music.

I hope this helped anyone who was being bugged by Shopping Spree's ambient sounds. I can't make a Steam guide due to my community discussions ban so I hope I can at least help everyone here on Reddit. :)
