Foreword
Hello!

I've thought of creating this guide when I wanted to farm Herbs, and created a plan for it that was good enough to share.

While I'm at it, I've decided to include a few other things as bonus, like 2 tools I had created and some other information I had trouble finding out about.

NOTE THAT THIS GUIDE IS INTENDED FOR THE POST-GAME, SO UNMARKED SPOILERS MIGHT BE INCLUDED!

I hope this guide helps you! If it does, don't forget to rate it up!

Skill Helper
CURRENTLY NOT WORKING
I haven't coded in ages have forgotten most about it, and now it seems the autoComplete function is messing up the whole code. I tried looking into it, but I couldn't figure it out. I assume it's not very complex if you know what you're doing, so if you do please tell me how to fix it!

It has 4 main functions:

1) Input a skill's name, and you'll see its element, group, and all possible fusion combinations that make it. Useful if (but not limited to) you're not familiar with skill names and want to quickly figure out its position in the skill grid.
2) Input 2 skills and see the result of their fusion.
3) Input 1 skill and the skill you want to create from the first one, and see all fusion possibilities to create the desired result.
4) Pick an element or group, and get a list of all skills that belong to that element/group.Useful if you've started going for a G- or E-Union, and want to be able to see, in the same place and at the same time, all skills that might help you achieve that Union.
Gear Finder
WORKING PARTIALLY
The autoComplete on the name field is not working, but it still works if you type the weapon name.

It's pretty easy: Enter the equipment you want to find on the left, manipulate enemy levels by changing Normin Level Bonus and Difficulty, and then you'll find the best farming spot for that piece of equipment.

Talent leveling tips
General Tips
  • All talents (one exception below) level up as you walk.
  • Reportedly, after 30 minutes of just walking, you should open the menu to reset people's "morale", and make them be more productive again.
  • You can benefit from LotL's level 22 boon "Acceleration of the Mind", which doubles the production speed and makes it twice as faster for mastering all talents with a progress bar: Snack Preparation, Money Finding, Fusion, and Remedy Preparation.

If you're familiar with, for example, AutoHotKey (AHK), you can set up a macro to make your characters run around in circles by themselves. Make sure you do so in an area with no monsters, with no exits that don't require opening doors. Here's an example of macro (press \ to toggle, shortcut can be changed... the macro will open the menu from time to time in order to "reset morale"):

#NoEnv ; Recommended for performance and compatibility with future AutoHotkey releases. SendMode Input ; Recommended for new scripts due to its superior speed and reliability. SetWorkingDir %A_ScriptDir% ; Ensures a consistent starting directory. #MaxThreadsPerHotkey 3 \:: #MaxThreadsPerHotkey 1 if isOn { isOn := false return } countLoop = 0 isOn := true Send, {A down} Loop { Send, {LShift down} Sleep 50 Send, {LShift up} Sleep 50 countLoop++ if countLoop >=1000 { Send, {E down} Sleep 50 Send, {E up} Sleep 500 MouseClick, right,,,,, D Sleep 50 MouseClick, right,,,,, U Sleep 50 countLoop = 0 } if not isOn break } isOn := false Send, {A up} return

Note that this code requires you to play with KB&M, with default commands, and that the game retains focus all the time.

If you want to make it even faster, you could cheat time by using a speed hack (Cheat Engine's work, and it won't affect your account if you have it running while playing ToZ, just don't forget to close it if you're going to play a game with VAC).

Item Ordering
  • This talent is a bit more complicated, since walking won't help you master it.
  • Whenever you successfully received the desired equipment you picked, this talent grows a little bit.
  • The best strategy is buying out all equipment from a single shop (the less items they have available, the more items they'll restock), and selling back only the desired gear for better odds (no need to sell more than 16 copies, since each shop remembers the last 16 items you sold to them). Amber Sword from Ladylake is a good choice.
  • If your inventory is full, make sure you sell your equipment to other shops.
  • Also, to raise the odds of success, which also increases the leveling speed, have this talent equipped for the same gear at the same shop for both Sorey and Rose at the same time.
  • Shops restock a little bit after 3 battles. Takes more to fully restock, but with each set of 3 battles the number of items restocked is lower. I'd recommend fighting 12 battles between checks.
  • When fighting enemies, make sure they're easy to kill ("Simple" difficulty helps), and do not use Dark Bottles, which prolong battles. Also, Dangerous Encounters still count as 1 battle, so fight enemies separately.
  • I recommend fighting monsters at the first room from Weylish Ruins (going in from Aifread's Hunting Ground). Kill the enemies there, go back out, then go back in. Repeat. You could choose another place, but it's best to go for areas in dungeons with a lot of crammed monsters, with a save point nearby, and close to an exit so you can force them to respawn.
  • Keep repeating this cycle — buying out a shop and fighting 12 battles — and you'll eventually master this talent.
  • I'd recommend going for this when you're at least level 76, when you can fight the toughest Mimic Giant to replenish your Gald, and it'll also be easier to kill enemies.
Title leveling tips
First, note that all titles have 3 ranks, which are usually increased by completing events (story-related or side-quests). Some exceptions include: finding Monoliths, eating snacks, fusing equipment, finding Normin, obtaining money, and fighting different enemies.
The 3 ranks have each a level cap: Bronze (5), Silver (10), and Gold (20).

Generally, your equipped title levels up after some events, or when you level up.

There are other ways to do this, though. A few inn dishes can increase your title level if you meet certain conditions, even if your character doesn't level up.

The best choice would be Lohgrin's Onion Soup, which costs 3,000 gald, lasts for 16 battles (at 5 stars), and increases your title experience "greatly" if you deal 10,000 damage (in a combo, to the same enemy).

Now, find a place with enemies that are tough enough to withstand 10,000 damage. You could raise the difficulty to increase their HP. I did this on Hexen Isle, playing on Intense (also took this chance to unlock Chaos), then on Hard. I also had Mikleo with 11 Stacks of Acqua (increases water damage by 100%, and Stack Bonus reduces casting time by 40%) and a 7 E-Union for Water (ignores enemies' Water resistance), and then spammed Maelstrom, which is a great crowd control Seraphic Arte.
Another option is searching for Mimic Giants, so you can farm some Gald as well, and they have high HP, so reaching 10k damage shouldn't be hard. Not to mention they give a lot of regular EXP.

If dealing 10k damage is hard for you, another option is eating Vichyssoise (also from Lohgrin's Inn, costs 2,400 gald), which requires you to reach a 75-hit combo instead of doing damage. If you choose this path, go hunt Mimic Giants. It's safer to use Holy Bottles to avoid other battles, which reduce the duration of your food.

Either way, make sure you don't use Dark Bottles, since longer battles won't help you level up your titles (on the contrary), and make sure you have the LotL's level 9 boon "Prolonged Satiety" activated, which causes the food count to have a chance to not go down after a battle.

The higher your current level, the harder it is to level them. Using this method, it shouldn't take more than 20 battles on higher levels.
Herb Farming
This is the main section of this guide, and it will help you optimize a trip around Glenwood, collecting all herbs that you can find.

General Info
  • Make sure you have access to all areas of the game. Doing it before you start a NG+ is a good time.
  • Use a Holy Bottle, and make sure your level is high enough for enemies not to spawn (lowering difficulty settings help).
  • Reportedly, herbs will respawn only if you have LotL's level 2 boon "Treasure Restoration" (on ALL seven regions).
  • Reportedly, herbs respawn after a certain in-game time. By my own tests, it's definitely either time or distance traveled (not battles fought or anything else, that's for sure). Some people say it takes 10 hours, but I think it's less than that.
  • You can leave the game running overnight to force herbs to respawn. Wanna play dirty? Use a speed hack and leave the game running (it doesn't even need focus, as long as it's not paused).
  • If you see a herb somewhere, then you can probably restart the process from start (unless you missed it on your first run).

Remedy Preparation abuse on NG+
  • This method has nothing to do with my guide, it's a different method I'm posting here for reference, since it's a good method as well.
  • Make sure that, when you see Alisha for the last time (DLC recommended, or else you'll have to prepare waaaay ahead), she's currently preparing a herb (preferably a red one, but a common one also works... if you get tired of trying an Apple Gel is also accepted). As soon as someone starts preparing something, it's already decided, so save before each preparation gets ready. If she prepares a herb, then load the save and you're good to go. If you're doing her DLC, you'll need to beat it - a Holy Bottle might help with that. Equip another Talent, but then switch back to Remedy Preparation right before the final boss, just don't let her prepare the herb (not sure if it's necessary, but reportedly it is). Then, load the file, and you'll be back in the main story. Do the same thing for Mikleo.
  • Start NG+. You can pick anything from Grade Shop, just make sure you pick "Carry Over Talents" to make sure the level of Remedy Preparation starts off high enough (preferably maxed). Feel free to carry over consumables. They'll NOT be added to "pool" of items that Remedy Preparation can create, UNLESS you USE the item! But you must know that, if you carry over talents, Mikleo will finish preparing whatever he had started on your previous playthrough.
  • Make sure you DON'T open any treasure chests (unless you're sure it contains equipment), and don't buy any consumables (again, you can carry them over, though). If you do so, the item will enter the pool. You must collect all herbs on your way, though, so they can enter the said pool. You can buy/use Apple Gels, though, since they can be produced regardless.
  • This means you'll only be using Apple Gels for items (and snacks) until you're satisfied with your herb farming.
  • Whenever you have both Alisha and Mikleo in your party, that's the best do it. SPOILERS: Alisha will leave the party, so don't wait too long. You'll have another chance later in the game, where you can use the herbs for Zaveid. Rose is pretty much out of this exploit, unless you do it on Alisha's DLC.
  • For the actual farming part, follow the guidelines and use the script I've provided in the "Talent leveling tips" section of this very guide.
  • Remember that talent production drops dramatically (reportedly to 1/40th) after 30 minutes. This is reset by opening the menu.

How to read this guide

It's actually pretty simple: Just follow the numbers indicated on the image, from 0 (starting position) to the highest number. Arrows help indicate the way. Read the text between images. =D

Note that I'm assuming you have all access to all areas, and that you have unlocked all one-way paths.

Don't forget to equip Remedy Preparation on Mikleo and to activate "Acceleration of Mind" (level 22 boon) on all areas to score some extra herbs.
Herb Farming - Part 1
Hexen Isle

Ignore the other herbs, we'll get them when they're in our path.

Calix VIII

Skip the Upper Stratum and go straight to the Lower Stratum.

Hexen Isle

Calix III

Calix IV

Calix V

Calix VI

Hexen Isle

Calix VII

There are no herbs in the Lower Stratum, so return to Hexen Isle either way (going further down or back up, doesn't matter), then teleport to Artorius' Throne - In Front of Highest Stairs.

Artorius' Throne

There are 2 other herbs in this place, but they require A LOT of walking. If you want to get them anyway (Red Chamomile and Red Rosemary), keep reading. Otherwise, go back to the save point, teleport to Atop Bridge Entrance, go south to Camlann and resume reading from the respective section.

If you still want those 2 herbs, bare with me...
  • From the Red Saffron, enter the building, then take the first left, go down the stairs, and exit to the east.
  • Wind-dash (henceforth WD) across the gap in front of you and enter the door into the central building.
  • Head east until you find some stairs, take them down, then exit back to the west.
  • WD across the gap close to the central building and enter the door.
  • Exit through the opposite door, to the east.
  • WD across the gap to the SE of the door you came from, then quickly WD to the E, then quickly to the SE and enter the door.
  • Go up the stairs and exit to the SW.

  • Backtrack a little bit until after the first WD: enter the door you just came from, then downstairs, exit, and WD.
  • WD to the NW, then WD again to the NW and enter the door.
  • Go up the stairs and leave the building to the SE.

After you enter the door [2] on the image, keep going to the SW until you reach the area with the broken stairs, but take the door S/SE. From there, it's a straight line to Camlann.

Mt. Mabinogio Ruins - Depths

After you leave, go to the save point in front of you and teleport to Mt. Mabinogio Ruins - In Circular Hall.

Mt. Mabinogio Ruins

Cross the bridge, go behind the statue, and leave to Elysia.

Elysia

Feel free to teleport from Sorey's House to the entrance, close to Aroundight Forest.

Aroundight Forest

When you reach Lakehaven Heights, use the save point nearby and teleport to Galahad Ruins B2.

Galahad Ruins

Lakehaven Heights

You'll be using a lot of teleports. Get the Sage [1], go back to the the SP and teleport to Abandoned Kylfe. Grab the Lavender [4], go back to the the SP and teleport to Ladylake Entrance. Finally, collect the Verbena [7] and head back to the SP.

Now you have 2 options. The first one is teleporting to Lefay Shrine (3 herbs: Red Saffron, Red Chamomile, and Red Sage). If you want to go there, keep reading. But that dungeon can be really annoying (Quick Saves can help you, though). If you don't want to go there, enter Ladylake, walk until the front of Shaorune Inn, and then resume reading from the Ladylake section.

To get to Lefay, teleport straight to it (In Front of the Highest Great Hall). Go west and enter the door. QUICK SAVE! Before going through the next door, use the Water Bubble power to walk safely past the eye. Step on the teleporter eye to go to 3F. From there, go N all the way, then E all the way, then S through the door.

Go up the ramp, enter the door, then go all the way W to get teleported by an eye to the starting area.

Go the warp point inside and teleport to 2F. From the bridge, take the door N. From the large room, move W through the first door. QUICK-SAVE! Bubble yourself past the eyes (follow the safe floors) and go S through the door. QUICK-SAVE! Carefully maneuver through the teleporter traps and exit to the E. Go through the doors.

Now back in, and get teleported down. Exit to Lakehaven Heights and take the nearby save point to teleport to Ladylake - Shaorune Inn. Leave the Inn.

Take the S path to "Outside the Aqueduct".

Talk to the Katz and enter Katz Korner.

Katz Korner

Talk to the Katz to leave, then enter Rountabel Palace.

From SP [4], teleport to SP [5 / 8] (Exit Leading to West Gorge). Collect [6] and [7], then go back to the SP [5 / 8] and teleport to SP [9 / 11] (Exit Leading to Southwest Hunting Grounds). Grab [10], go back to SP [9 / 11], and finally teleport to Gaferis Ruins - B3.

Gaferis Ruins

Take the stairs up to B2, then to B1.

Walk out of Gaferis Ruins to Pearloats Pasture, then use the SP nearby to teleport to Pendrago.

Pendrago

Leave the inn and go the Eastern Quarter.

Pendrago Shrinechurch

Go all the way through the church and into the dungeon past the LotL and the SP.

Use the SP to teleport to Cambria Caverns - Near Subterranean Lake.

Cambria Caverns

Biroclef Ridge

Yder Cave

Teleport to Gododdin - Fenia Inn.

Gododdin

Igraine

On [2], take down the stairs.

Go back to Gododdin and use the SP just outside to teleport to Morgause. Do NOT count on the elevator in the middle of the shrine to reach a closer SP, since the elevator remains in position even after you move to other areas.
Herb Farming - Part 6
Morgause

On [3], go down the stairs.

Go back up, then walk out to Aifread's Hunting Ground.

Aifread's Hunting Ground

Teleport to Weylish Ruins - B3.

Weylish Ruins

On B2, take the northernmost exit back to B3.

Back on B2 again, you can either take the path back south to B3 until the SP, or take either of the paths on the west or east to B1 and make your way outside to Aifread's Hunting Ground again, and then to the SP.

Regardless of the path you choose, teleport to Guinevere Shrine - Square Outside Shrine.

Guinevere Shrine

Teleport to "In Front of 9F Exit", and leave through the door on the east.

Teleport to Westronbolt Gorge - In Front of Malevolent Crucible: Maharaurava.

From B3, make your way to the SP and teleport to Lhitwerg Woods - Eastern Area.

Lhitwerg Woods

WD across the creek to the west and leave to Northwest area.

^ Ignore the herb here for now.

Back on Plitzerback Wetland, use the SP to teleport to Great Camelot Bridge - Exit Leading to East Pasture.

Great Camelot Bridge

Teleport to Trizolde Cave - Northeastern Area.

Trizolde Cave

From here, you could walk A LOT for a Red Chamomile. Best way is probably going NE from the SP.

Whether you want to go there or not, go back to the SP inside Trizolde Cave, and teleport to Zaphgott Moor - Abandoned Horsa.

Zaphgott Moor

Lohgrin

Phew!

This is it! You've collected all herbs (or most of them). Now, if you see any herbs anywhere, this means you're probably ready to restart the cycle. If you have anything else to do in the game and just want to collect herbs, leave the game running overnight so the herbs can respawn.

Honestly and unfortunately, I have no clue how to solve it. I've updated the topics so maybe someone can help? I'm confident it shouldn't be too hard to fix for those who are more familiar with coding, but it feels like a different person entirely wrote this (and I'm thinking I probably had some help back then, but I lost contact with my programmer friend, and I have no one else to ask for help).
MakoSipper  [author] 14 Jan @ 4:57am
Thanks for pointing it out! I haven't coded anything since then, not sure if I can fix it, but I'll give it a try. The weapon tool is not perfect either, it should have an autocomplete feature on "Name" field, although it still works if you type in the name, while the skill don't.
Lethal 14 Jan @ 12:29am
Hello, thank you so much for the guide! I've been replaying the game and happened upon it, and it's really great. Just wanted to leave feedback that the skill tool seems to be malfunctioning--the weapons one is working just fine, though. Thanks for the hard work!
