Intro
WIP - on the off chance anybody is looking at this in the next day or so, I'll be finishing it up ASAP - til then, if there's something not clear enough from the ingame help files just ask here/the forums

Achievements for winning a mode can also be unlocked by playing that mode 100 times - so bad luck won't stop anybody from 100%ing this game.

There are also rules in game, found on the SELECT screen in the main menu - just press help (down the bottom right) and it'll display the rules for the game you have selected.

If you're just looking for the Windows games from your childhood - Klondike (and Klondike By Threes) are "Solitaire".

In this guide, I'll elaborate a bit more on the rules for the various modes.

If you find a mode you like, the star in the top right corner on the SELECT screen will add it to favourites for later.

Some of the easiest modes that don't require much luck or skill are Klondike, Westcliff, Red and Black, Pyramid, Spider (1 suit), Scotch Patience.

Forty thieves, Acme, Baker's Game, Canfield and Fan are some of the more difficult modes to win.

Tam O'Shanter is very easy to play, but requires a LOT of luck to win.
Acme

Approx 5 minutes a game

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HScSaMf9KKs&feature=youtu.be

Objective is to move all the cards to the foundations (4 slots at the top with Aces in them)

Foundations start with an Ace at the beginning of the game. They're built in ascending order by suit. (eg. a 3 of diamonds is played on a 2 of diamonds)

The tableau cards (the four cards directly below the line of Aces) are built in descending order by suit. (eg. a 3 of diamonds is played on a 4 of diamonds)

The bottom card of the reserve (the line of face-up cards to the right of the foundations & tableau) can be played.

The talon (the face down cards in the upper right hand corner) deals one card at a time.

Two deck game.

Objective is to move all the cards to the foundations (the 8 empty slots at the top)

Foundations are built in ascending order by suit. (eg. a 3 of diamonds is played on a 2 of diamonds)

The tableau cards are built in descending order (K, Q, J, 10, 9 etc) in alternating colour (black, red, black, red). Empty piles have to start with a king.

Blind Alleys
Easy

Less than five minutes per game

https://youtu.be/FjZ81_QLIhY

The foundations are the four piles with Aces in them at the beginning of the game.

Foundations are built in ascending order by suit, starting with an Ace. (A Three of Diamonds goes on a Two of Diamonds)

The tableau piles - the six piles below the foundations - are built in descending order (10, 9, 8), in alternating colour (red, black, red, black).

Any card can be placed in an empty tableau slot.

The talon (the face-down card in the upper right corner) deals one card at a time, two redeals are allowed.
Canfield
The foundations are the four slots at the top. At the start of the game, a random card will be in the top left slot, the other three will be empty. This card is the starting point for all of the foundations - eg. if you have an 8 of Clubs, then all of the foundation piles must start from the 8.

The foundations are built in ascending order - the Ace can be built on the King.

The tableaus are built in descending order, in alternating colours. A king can be built on an ace.

The bottom card in the reserve pile (the line of cards on the right of the foundations & tableaus) can be played normally, and will automatically be moved into any empty tableau slot.

The talon deals three cards at a time.
Double Klondike
Easy

Game takes 5-10 minutes

https://youtu.be/1dZcjFxxVVA

Just like standard Klondike, but with a second deck.

Foundations are empty at the start of the game, and must be started with an Ace. They're built in ascending order by suit (2 of Clubs on Ace of Clubs)

Tableau cards are built in descending order in alternating colour. Empty tableau piles must be started with a King.

The talon deals one card at a time.
Double Rail
Two deck game.

Objective is to move all cards to the foundations.

Empty foundations must start with an Ace. They are built in ascending order, by suit. (A 3 of Diamonds on a 2 of Diamonds)

Tableau is built in descending order, in any suit/colour (any 9 can be played on any 10, etc)

Talon deals one card at a time.
Easthaven
Objective is to move all cards to the foundations.

Foundations must begin with an Ace, and are built in ascending order by suit (3 of Diamonds on 2 of DIamonds)

Eight Off
Easy/Medium

Game Length of 5 minutes

Objective is to move all cards to the foundations (the empty piles on the left of the screen)

Cards are built by suit, in ascending order (starting with the Ace)

Four cards are randomly placed in the Free Cells at the top of the screen at the beginning of the game, and there are four other Free Cells available.

Cards of the same suit in descending order, can be moved as a group around the tableau.

Once a tableau pile is cleared, only a King can start a new tableau pile.
Fan
Hard difficulty (moderate with practice), some luck required

Cards are built at the top, in ascending order by suit - starting with the Ace.

Cards can be moved around the tableau (the piles of three cards), but you need to choose your moves carefully. Only the top card of each pile can be moved, and cards cannot be moved as a group.

You should avoid building a stack of higher cards if it will block access to a lower card, especially if they are of the same suit.

Eg:

You start the game, and one pile has 8 of Spades, 2 of Diamonds, Queen of Hearts.

If you move the Jack of Hearts on top of the Queen, you will then be blocked from the 2 of Diamonds and 8 of Spades until you have built the Hearts foundation pile high enough to place the Jack & Queen there.

However, if it was instead the 8 of Spades, 2 of Diamonds, Queen of Diamonds, and you placed the Jack on top of the Queen, you would no longer have any way to win the game - you would need to build the Diamonds foundation pile up to move the Jack & Queen off, which is impossible as the 2 of Diamonds is trapped underneath them.
Flower Garden
Easy/moderate difficulty

5-10 minute game

The objective is to build all cards on the foundation piles (two empty piles on the left and two empty piles on the right at the start of the game) - in ascending order, by suit, starting with the Ace.

All cards in the reserve pile (at the top of the screen) can be played

Cards in the foundation can only be moved one at a time, and can be build in descending order regardless of suit (any 7 can go on any 8 etc)

Once a foundation pile has been emptied, any card can begin a new pile.

Objective is to move all the cards to the waste pile.

Cards must add up to 13 to be sent to the waste pile

Jack = 11, Queen = 12, King = 13 (King is automatically sent on its own)

So Ace + Queen is a pair, 7 + 6 is a pair, etc etc. Colours/suits don't matter.

The talon deals one card at a time, and you get two redeals.

Easy to play, but requires a lot of luck to win. Only takes a minute or two per game.

The objective is to move all cards to the foundations at the top of the screen. Suit doesn't matter, but they have to be in ascending order.

You cannot move the cards around in the tableau, and there are no redeals. This is why luck is a major factor in winning this mode.
