This game for me was one of my earliest arcade experiences. I had played some Atari stuff prior to this but Galaga was so colourful! So smooth control-wise. The hypnotic sway of the enemies as they rained down on you was beautiful. Your wrist had to be a finely tuned instrument to yank that joystick at the precise millisecond so you didn’t die. And then the fact you could allow one of your ships to get captured and then once you freed it you had twin cannons? Absolute genius.
