Introduction
This guide is intended to explain each of the achievements in the game and how to obtain each of them, as well as some tips from my own (as of writing 250+) hours of play time.
Story Achievements
This section covers achievements gained by progressing through the story normally.

Project Kick-off!
Start the game.
Most difficult achievement in the game bar none.

Here, have my business card!
Defeat Officer Diamond.
Fairly easy, the best opportunity to punish with Asaru is during his round trip attack where a Just Dodge removes the briefcase and leaves him extremely vulnerable.

He's definitely a musclehead!
Defeat Officer Club.
Best strategy is to play hit and run, wait for his attacks with long recovery and strike. With Card Rush you can chip away at his health and guard while running. If you're feeling cheeky you can attack him during his aerial attacks to stop his assault and start yours.

See? It can't read minds after all!
Defeat Officer Heart.
His attacks are powerful but many, especially his horizontal + vertical projectile combo leave him very open, dash or jump behind during or immediately after these attacks to punish.

What a pain... Quit running off!
Defeat Officer Spade.
Arguably the hardest of the Officers, moreso due to a recent patch stopping Business cards from launching certain enemies like bosses and stronger mooks while grounded. Best advice I can give is to try to get close while dodging his projectiles, if you don't get caught in the spam his long recovery animations easily allow you some free damage.

You're an agent too, right?!
Meet Amelia.
You automatically encounter Amelia in the entrance after defeating your second Officer.

Super Amateur Spy
Defeat Kazama.
Kazama's 3rd and final fight takes place in the Back Lot and is easily the most frustrating for a new player. It's advisable to deal with enemy waves as they spawn since Kazama himself only has a few projectile attacks you can avoid if you keep an eye on him and a close range attack.

Last One Standing
Defeat Chidori.
Chidori's second fight takes place at the end of the Executive area. Her first phase is identical to her previous fight but her second phase seriously buffs her attacks, never underestimate her range and your best chance to punish is when she finishes her triple teleport combo.

Time Out!
Defeat Mr Showtime.
Arguably easier than Chidori and Kazama, but has some tricks up his sleeves. His rotating orbs can be quickly dealt with using the charged Umbrella attack (or Judgement Cut for all my fellow DMC bois) and if you can launch him you can take quite a lot of his health before he can tech out. In the final phase make sure to abuse the infinite Overclock to constantly stagger and combo him or he'll regenerate all his health.

Well? Let's hear the truth!
Defeat Irene.
Her 3rd fight takes place in the Back Lot but is significantly less frustrating than Kazama's final encounter due to the lack of enemy mooks flooding the elevator. Best advice for Irene is to learn her attacks, allow her to get close and move in to punish once she leaves an opening. Blocking can significantly help with not only this fight but almost any other part of the game, her highly telegraphed attacks make her decent practice for mastering Royal Guard blocking.

Overclock Overcome!
Defeat Mr Assault.
Probably one of the easier bosses in the game but still pretty good. His second fight activates the overclock where you should do your best to time your blocks to avoid damage rather than try to dodge through it. If you don't have blocking yet you can try to abuse the hyper armour of her smashes to take no damage from them. After some time you'll unlock Overclock yourself to turn the tide, and it's straightforward from there.

Curtain Call
Defeat Officer Joker.
The final boss of Amelia's campaign. By now you should have bought Amelia's Ebon Thunder from the skill shop, seeing as it's among the most useful moves in the game. Personally I like to use Ebon Thunder to get close to Joker as they teleport (The move can also go through and destroy projectiles and Joker's black hole so use that to your advantage) and then switch to Asaru for fast damage and quick evasion, Joker's attacks hit hard and wide, so Just Dodge is almost a necessity for surviving close to Joker. In the second phase focus on bringing their shield down as fast as possible, otherwise depending on the moves Joker uses the game very quickly becomes a bullet hell. Once the guard is broken you've basically won so long as you keep up the attacks as they lay there helpless.

And those are all the achievements one can earn by normally progressing through the story.
Combat Achievements
This section covers combat-related achievements.

It's because you got in the way of my job
Defeat 100 enemies
Self-explanatory, should occur naturally by the time you reach the first Chidori fight,

Super Duper Robobreakerman
Defeat 1000 enemies
Same as above, self-explanatory, will be achieved in the course of replaying the game.

Wipe 'em all out at once!
Defeat 3+ enemies at once
Will likely be achieved during the first Asaru playthrough, enemies can be attacked until they have no health and won't die until hit by a stronger attack, so if you want to achieve this quickly, attack 3 unshielded enemies until they're in this state, plant business cards on all of them (dash out of the throw animation to cancel the automatic explosion) then manually detonate them simultaneously (done with down on the D-pad or 4 on KB/M). Alternatively, enemies that take a lethal hit during Overclock do not die until OC is deactivated so if multiple enemies die upon its end they should trigger the achievement.

Super Stylish Spy!!!
Get a battle result of SSS
The key to getting that Smoking Sexy Style is attack variety, but there are a few ways to get this quite quickly. Attacking a large group of enemies with Amelia's Super Corridor Smash can massively increase her style meter, but regardless, this should be unlocked naturally as you become a better player.

Unexpected Strength
Defeat the Officers in the Executive Area
This may seem insanely daunting but if you go in knowing what to do it's absolutely doable. I recommend doing this on Normal, though Hard isn't much of a step up in terms of difficulty, and choosing Amelia to go for this achievement with. What you'll want to do is brute force your way through this encounter by constantly breaking the Officers' shields for food, which is why I suggest using Amelia. Another tip is to try and keep any Officers you're not actively attacking off the camera, which stops them from attacking you. Try and keep the pressure on one Officer at a time, as getting rid of one as early as possible significantly eases the rest of the fight. Amelia's Super Mode also grants her invulnerability so make the absolute most of its duration and perform a Super Corridor Smash towards its end. Keep this up and you'll defeat the Officers and unlock an alternate cutscene.
Difficulty/Extra Mode Achievements
This section covers achievements gained from completing the game on higher difficulties as well as achievements from the Extra modes.

Hard Worker
Clear Hard Work Mode
Very self explanatory; the main differences introduced by Hard Work mode are that Asaru/Amelia are now limited to 4 health, enemies get larger healthbars and tougher shields across the board and tougher enemies are faced earlier in the game. Bosses see the biggest step up in difficulty as their shields are no longer paper thin but otherwise, if you can beat Normal difficulty, Hard Work isn't a huge leap. Maybe go through Normal one or two more times to unlock all character skills if you're not quite ready.

Due to personal reasons, I must resign from being a human as of today
Clear Extreme Mode
Hard Work dialled up to 11; Asaru and Amelia are limited to 3 health, shields are harder to break than ever and the bosses will demand your all just to get past them. One perk, however, is that since you'll be perpetually low on health, food drops are more common than on any other difficulty. Keep some weak enemies around for when your health drops then finish them off for an easy refill in between beating on a bigger dude. With a little strategy, it's really not so extreme after all!

All jobs have an end!
Clear Death March Mode
Assault Spy's own Bloody Palace; 50 floors of robot smashing with bosses placed at every 7 of them, a few prior clears of the game will help for remembering boss' patterns. Be liberal in using Overclock/Super mode because if you fall, you're starting from the beginning again. Only exception is Mr. Showtime; he still fully regenerates at ~30% health so conserve your resources during that fight to finish him off. Other than that, if you can beat Hard Work with relative ease, this will be no issue.

Say goodbye to your bosses
Clear Boss Rush Mode
Like Death March but truncated down purely to bosses; much of what was said about Death March applies here, make sure you've fought each boss a few times so you know their patterns and be wary of Mr. Showtime.

Report: Mission Accomplished - Spy did not die
Clear Spy Must Die Mode
Death March on steroids; bosses come in PAIRS this time, and are not made individually easier in any way, so make sure you're intensely familiar with the bosses in question. Fighting the four officers in the Executive area on Hard Work/Extreme could serve as good practice for group boss fights, and learning to use the camera so as other bosses remain offscreen and attack significantly less.

???
Clear ???
UOHHHHHHH DAMN BRAT
*ahem* Anyway yes, the cute and funny Kanoko is this game's post-launch superboss; you get six minutes to lay the smackdown and by God she's gonna make you work for it. At minimum, go in with all the skills you need and at least a clear of Hard Work under your belt. Many of her attacks are esoteric and hard to read, leave very little window to punish, incredibly fast, or some combination of the three. Beating her without taking damage was one of the most horrific experiences of my entire life. But as for beating her normally, if you go in with the right skills and the patience to learn her attacks she's not unbearable. Mooks spawn as her health lowers which drop food so between that and her massive healthbar it's more of a huge endurance test.
Negabot Employees
Business Favours
Rescue a trapped Negabot employee
Rescue any one of the employees in the game; some of them are so obvious that I'd be impressed if anyone could beat the game for the first time without talking to one.

Thank you! You're amazing!
Rescue all the trapped Negabot employees
I've completed a separate guide for finding every one of the employees, it can be found here: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1909317222
Other Achievements
Achievements which don't fit under the previous categories will be found here.

Install Directly to the Brain
Use the Skill Shop
Walk up to the big skill machine thingy and press the button to use it. I hope you didn't collapse from the sheer effort.

Fully Installed
Learn all of Asaru's skills
This one's just a matter of time; by the time you've finished a second playthrough, you should be able to afford every skill with some points to spare.

True Assault Artist
Learn all of Amelia's skills
Once again, just a matter of time; it's worth noting that Asaru and Amelia keep a separate stock of skill points so you'll need to play a decent amount as both characters to get both achievements.

The Assault Spy
Unlock all achievements
Congrats, if you followed the guide up until now you should get this. Nothing to say so I'll dispense a fun fact; early post-EA versions of the game had a bug where this achievement could just randomly pop up despite not having all achievements, which is why it's less rare than multiple other achievements. For me, it randomly popped up after a fight with Chidori one time despite still missing a few achievements. AFAIK it has been corrected however, so don't get spamming Chidori battles to skip the challenge you sussy Cirno (baka) (idiot).

Thanks for answering, @Raven.

Trusting your word, I managed to defeat Kanoko while having character switching enabled.

Indeed, no ranks were saved, so it's like the fight never happened at all in-game.

But!
I got my achievement.
So… yeah, enabling character switching does not void achievements.
Wish I had known that before…

Don't think so, afaik it just disables saving best level times/ranks which doesn't unlock anything anyway.
Lord Bidón 30 Jan @ 7:46am
Does enabling character switching in the extras menu disable achievements?
Raven  [author] 24 Jan @ 3:04pm
The stealth stuff is skippable after beating the game once, it's okay as a one-time novelty and appropriately treated as such.

And yeah Mightreya looks sick.
iiisixstringiii 24 Jan @ 3:03pm
@Raven Really appreciate the reply, dude. But I found out that to unlock the character switch, you have to have beaten the game with both Amaru, AND Amelia which I haven't done yet.

I got to Amelia's stealth sections and they are so annoying. I forgot that when I played years ago that I never finished her campaign, lol.

I'm really tempted to just ask someone for their 100% completed save file xD

BUT, I'll get through it. I'm sure I can just watch a guide and follow along and it should be easy enough.

OH! And btw, have you seen the game that is being made by the Assault Spy people?
It's called MIGHTREYA

It's on steam and you can wishlist it now. Check it out. There's also a Twitter page where they post a lot about the game and showcase gameplay/progress on it.

It's a toggle in the Extras menu

Thank you for this guide!

But question... After beating the game once (on normal), don't you get the ability to switch between both characters on the fly in the middle of combat?

I played years ago and remember doing this, but now I've gone back to the game for a hard mode playthrough, and I'm not seeing the option for it anywhere.

Would you happen to know why? Thanks for your time!
Raven  [author] 7 Aug, 2023 @ 5:16am
alright i finished it nerds

Is this guide incomplete then? Either way, thanks for the write up :silhouette:

Hey guys, been a while. Quite honestly I still have yet to find all the employees despite my best efforts and I'd have to refind every single one for screenshotting purposes anyway. I've updated the guide with the Combat section and don't plan to take so long with the rest, and I'll update the Story formatting to match the Combat part.
