Step by step guide to unlocking the "Grand Slam" achievement

Below you will find a step by step guide to unlocking the Grand Slam achievement. When you unlock this achievement, you will also unlock the Dark Safety Weapon skin for Doombox.

Please note that I know there are other techniques to get the player to one million speed (with down airs). I am writing this guide with beginners in mind and I personally feel this way is the easiest. Everyone should be able to get this achievement by following this simple technique.

You will need two input devices for this method. (A controller and a keyboard).

Please follow the steps below in this exact order:

Select Versus mode.
Select 1v1 mode.
Go to options and set the energy to ONE.
Select Latch for your character. (Because of his special ability.)
Activate a player two so you do not have a CPU player. Player two will be idle this game, so don't worry about needing a real life friend to help you.
Start the match.
Put player two in the corner.
As Latch, hit the ball once to get your energy filled up to full.
With a full energy bar, use Latch's special ability to catch the ball in your mouth.
Jump up and release the ball so it is above your head and player two's head. This is very important. If you did this correctly the ball will be bouncing from the left wall to the right wall horizontally above you.
Now you need to speed the ball up. To do this you need to do a charged hit jump.
- Hold the hit button and then jump right away. If you're doing the charge correctly, your character will blink white.
- Release the hit button right as you jump (Time your jump so you hit the ball. This may take a few tries to get the timing down.) You want to time the jump so you jump right as your character blinks white.
- Do not press any direction inputs while you are hitting the ball, or it will make the ball bounce off and it will kill player two. You want to keep the ball going horizontally.
Repeat and watch the meter on the boombox at the bottom of the screen. This will take you a few minutes, but you will reach one million with this technique.

this may be harder to do but its much faster to do if you get into the rhythm of doing it

There's a way better way to do this.
Pick raptor with 1 energy
get the ball above both of your heads going from the left wall to the right
1.use raptor's wall jump mechanic and trap the ball, jumping off the wall and smashing it towards the wall
2.after smashing it towards the wall use your ability and hold left into the left wall or right into the right wall (i recommend left)
3.keep holding left so you attach to the wall again
repeat steps 1-3 and enjoy your super fast 1 mil!

you can also do this with raptor and midair side hits (not sure what they're called) by setting energy to 1 and using your special every time you hit the ball to get the speed boost and also a straight ball

another way is to have latch on the wall and then have the other player on the ground bunting into the air and charge hitting the ball. it takes about like 6 mins.

Yeah figured, I just couldnt find the skin in the store. I played story mode and it said I unlocked it (somehow) but thanks again for the guide

You have unlocked the ability to buy the skin with sparks.
