Choosing a class and magic
After doing some research and playing the game, I would like to share the knowledge that I have gained in order to help out others when choosing their class/magic.

There a lot of posts on many forums with discussions about which is better, warrior or cleric with their respective magic.

If you want a more detailed guide on each magic and class I would suggest you see the following guide made by Pakkidis:
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=599241968

The warrior outshines all other classes in terms of raw damage and has no need to use magic during a playthrough, so you can focus on raising your strength, endurance, and vitality. After getting his full setup of weapon and armour you can complete the game effortlessly. The spells that the warrior has to offer are decent, but in most cases it's better to ignore them and put the points needed to raise faith for leveling them on something else.

The cleric has one of the best spells in the game called shelter: it has a healing buff that applies to you once casted and reduces incoming damage during that period. The other two spells that the cleric has are very situational, but may prove useful depending on how you use them. See pakkidis guide for more information about them. The cleric doesn't reach the damage of the warrior but compensates this with shellter, since it gives more survivability and gives you the possibility of not using any potions during a playthrough.

The rogue is the worst class currently in the game, mainly because of how the game works. The rogue's damage comes from his spells and combos and in most boss battles, you have a very small gap in between the attacks to get hits in. Combos are done by timing your attacks right: after timing two attacks in a row, you will start doing a special move that will increase your damage by a huge margin. The issue is that it takes too long to get your combos off on bosses and in most cases you will get hit. Rogues by standard will be using either light or medium armour for mobility in exchange of their defense, but unfortunately the game has a really poor scaling on them. Even when having the best light armour in the game socketed with power runes that increase your armour, you will be one shotted many times by big mobs and bosses.

For a smooth playthrough and for min-maxing I suggest picking the cleric with solace, since the spell shelter allows you to survive without potions, and if you refrain from filling your potions on the save points (Press shift+R) you will keep your bonus experience modifier that you get for killing enemies. With this method you can ramp up your gained experience and level faster. Once you beat the game you can start NG+ and choose one more magic tree. You can also respec your stats at one point in the game once per playthrough. See Shard of heroes.

*In case you are not min-maxing you can choose whatever class you want since the bonus to attributes you get at the beginning is quite minimal and later in the game you can respec your attribute points and class.

Attributes
To make things clear so there are no misunderstandings, I will always relate each magic to their respective class, meaning Warrior = Brawler, Cleric = Solace, with the exception of Rogue. Your class and magic do not dictate what weapons you should be using, it's the attributes. Since this guide is meant for min-maxing, I will always correlate Warrior with strengh and Cleric with faith since it's the most optimal choice.

Attributes are what makes you scale in this game, I will be putting a short description on each attribute so you get an idea on what to raise with each class.

Each attribute has a soft cap of 40 and a hardcap of 50.

Strengh
increases your damage with strengh based weapons and increases your capacity for carrying equipped items.

Vitality
increases your health points for each point by a set amount. Vitality is very important to raise in order to be able to survive. You are looking for the perfect harmony between health and armour so you can last a moderate amount of hits. Increasing it further is not needed in most cases.

Faith
is needed for leveling your spells, with 21 points on faith you can fully uncap your spells. Faith increases your magic pool and increases the damage of faith based weapons as well. If you are playing warrior you can skip completely leveling Faith to be able to boost your other attributes, with the downside of not leveling your spells. If you are playing cleric, I recommend putting as many points as you can on faith to increase your damage with faith based weapons and leveling up your shelter spell.

Endurance
increases your capacity of carrying equipped items and maximum energy. It is an another important attribute for both warrior and cleric. Your carrying capacity will dictate what heavy armours you can use. Heavy armours are the best and in order to use most of them you will need to have more carrying capacity.
With endurance you will be looking to find a harmony as well between your current weight and your total weight. If your carrying capacity is low and you use a heavy armour you will be slowed down. To solve this, increase your endurance attribute enough so that you can move fast enough to avoid damage. To achieve the fastest movement speed for rolls and running, you need to have a value of green on your weight value.

Achieving a green value on weight with heavy armours is not needed and you would need to sacrifice many points to accomplish this. I personally suggest aiming for white instead.

Agility
increases agility based weapons damage and increases your energy. No need to put any points on it unless you wanna try Rogue for fun.

Luck
is a attribute that I couldn't find any information about, many suggest that it increases the drop rate of items or that you get rarer loot. In either case I recommend strongly not to raise it since you can get most drops without it.
Weapons and armours
This section will be a step to step guide on what weapons you should get during your playthrough. This will mostly be oriented for those that start the game as cleric with the solace magic who will transition later on to warrior on NG+.

*Trinkets will have their own separate section.

By starting off with cleric you will be aiming to raise your faith in order be able to level your shellter spell as soon as possible and look for weapons that scale well with faith. I will be listing here weapons and armours that are good during your journey and a link to the wiki where you will find how to acquire them.

At the start of the game you will have some basic weapons but further on the story you will find more either from monster drops or chests. There is a lack of faith weapons in the game but you shouldn't have any trouble advancing if you get the ones listed here, I will only be listing a single Strengh weapon and I strongly recommend getting it if you will be transitioning from cleric to warrior (See Peacemaker further down).

I will be listing the weapons and armours in chronological order so that you can easily follow step by step where to find them so you don't need to be afraid of missing one. Armours will only have a link to the wiki, but usually if you explore you will find all pieces of the set.

Symmetry Armour set: https://lordsofthefallen.wiki.fextralife.com/Symmetry+Armor+Set

Cleric - It's a weapon that is missable and in order to get it you will need to find an item called shard of heroes that you will use on a statue that holds a hammer in the area where the second boss is located, following video shows where to find it and how to use it, don't worry about the respec part, you are only interested in the weapon:

Wiki page: https://lordsofthefallen.wiki.fextralife.com/Cleric+%28Hammer%29

Clawfinger - Third boss drops it, in order to get the better version of it you will need to complete the boss challenge.

Wiki page: https://lordsofthefallen.wiki.fextralife.com/Clawfinger
Boss challenge * See Worshiper: https://lordsofthefallen.wiki.fextralife.com/Bosses

N.B. Clawfinger may feel really clunky but has a special skill when you use heavy attacks (Consumes magic). Cleric will have similar damage so you may choose what you like more personally.

Griffin armour set - https://lordsofthefallen.wiki.fextralife.com/Griffin+Armor+Set

Heirloom - In the catacombs, you will need to upgrade it. Will post two links, one on where to find it and another one on how to upgrade it:

Location. See from 1.34:
Upgrade. See from 1.40 :

N.B. I strongly recommend the Heirloom.

Will armour set: https://lordsofthefallen.wiki.fextralife.com/Will+Armor+Set

Living Legend Armour set: https://lordsofthefallen.wiki.fextralife.com/Living+Legend+Armor+Set

Fly - You will need to go to the proving grounds to acquire this one, it is located to the left side of the arena where the guardian is located (7th boss) inside a cell that you will need to open from the back. To be able to enter it you will first need to kill the guardian.

Wiki page: https://lordsofthefallen.wiki.fextralife.com/Fly

Eternal Legend armour set: *Gives set bonus. https://lordsofthefallen.wiki.fextralife.com/Eternal+Legend+Armor+Set

Fallen armour set: *See cleric section. https://lordsofthefallen.wiki.fextralife.com/Fallen+Armor+Set

Stare - Best Faith based weapon. You will find this inside inside a dimensional portal after you've defeated the lost brothers. You will find this weapon near the end of the game, I recommend get it so you can carry yourself till new game + and respec to strengh.

Wiki page: https://lordsofthefallen.wiki.fextralife.com/Stare

Lords armour set: *Best armour in the game. https://lordsofthefallen.wiki.fextralife.com/Lords+Armor+Set

*Peacemaker - This weapon is dropped by the human enemies, I strongly suggest getting this weapon since it's the highest strengh damaging weapon, later if you transition to warrior and put enough points on strengh Peacemaker should be able to carry.

Wiki page: https://lordsofthefallen.wiki.fextralife.com/Peacemaker

Between - Comparable to Stare, but you will need to have the DLC to get it, you will get the weapon from the Keeper but only if you change it's element to fire. See the achievement section, I will be posting a guide there on how to change the element of it.

There is no direct link to the weapon, see boss drop table:
https://lordsofthefallen.wiki.fextralife.com/The+Keeper

Trinkets
Notable trinkets and their location:

Back breaker - Increased weight capacity.
See wiki : https://lordsofthefallen.wiki.fextralife.com/Back+Breaker

Amulet of the betrayer - After killing the 4th boss you will find some soldiers outside. Help them escape (Giving potion is opcional). You just need to head back to one of the circular rooms and kill the new monster that spawned there. You will meet them again after getting a quest from the captain to kill some deserters, accept the mission. When you get to where the 7th boss is you will find them in the same circular room where you killed the previous monster to help them escape. You need to suggest them to flee and that you will inform the captain that they are dead. You will be rewarded the amulet after the conversation is finished. The amulet gives 40% damage while damaging you on each hit, really good combined with cleric since you have shellter for healing.

Challenger - Complete the last boss challenge. You will have it in your inventory on your NG+.

Tips and mechanics
General tips:

- You can always farm monsters for experience, if you die or enter a new area through loading screen and come back, the monsters will have re-spawned.

- You can combo your attacks with any weapon by timing the next attack for improved damage and/or less energy consumption. You can test this without attacking an enemy, if you succeed on timing it right your stamina bar will blink.

- Each time you kill an enemy you will increase your experience modifier, you start off with 1.00 and it caps at 2.00. If you save the game and refill your pots the modifier will be reset. To avoid this you can hold shift+R to save, but you won't receive any pots.

- Enemies with shields may be bothersome to deal with in the beginning, a way to cheese them is to sprint and hold the block button to knock their shield to the air and do a heavy attack, if you time the heavy attack correctly you will do the sprinting version of your heavy attack and it will most likely hit. Your weapon speed may affect the probability of hitting. Sometimes it will fail and you won't stagger them. If you have enough damage your heavy sprinting attack will go through their shield.

- When you get to the 7th boss (Guardian) Yetka will ask you to follow her before facing the boss. To save you the trouble of wasting time I recommend you to kill the boss first and go afterwards after Yetka.
