US/South Vietnam Forces
Thought I'd post some ideas for weapons that could be added, I doubt the Devs will see this, but I might as well post it to get y'all's opinions on it, anyway, let's get started!

US/ South Vietnam forces:

Ingram MAC-10:

Era: Late war
Possible faction use: USMC, US Army, possible US Special forces faction in future.
Slot: Sidearm/primary
Class: Machinegunner, Commander, Pointman, engineer
Possible variants: Unsuppressed with 32 round magazine, suppressed with 20 round magazine
Opinion: I think this could add some much-needed variety for CQB engagements
More info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MAC-10

M1903A4 Springfield:

Era: Early war, Mid war-Late war*
Possible faction use: U.S. Army, USMC, Southern Vietnamese Army
Slot: Primary
Class: Marksman
Possible variants: Small scope variant, A5 scope variant, ironsights variant
Opinion: Seeing how the US didn't use the M40 at first, this would be a very cool rifle to take its place on early war maps, *also the Southern Vietnamese used these extensively through the whole war unlike the US forces.
More Info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M1903_Springfield

S&W M76:

Era: Mid war-Late war
Possible faction use: USMC, US Army, Southern Vietnamese Army
Slot: Primary
Class: Pointman, Commander, Engineer
Possible variants: Basic model
Opinion: Just to add some needed variety to the SMG's
More Info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smith_%26_Wesson_M76

IMI UZI:

Era: Mid war-Late war
Possible faction use: USMC, US Army, Southern Vietnamese Army, Possible US special forces faction
Slot: Primary
Class: Pointman, Commander, Engineer
Possible variants: Folding stock model, solid wood stock model
Opinion: Just to add some needed variety to the SMG's, plus this is one badass SMG
More Info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uzi

XM148 grenade launcher:

Era: Mid war-Late war
Possible faction use: U.S. Army, Australian Army, Southern Vietnamese Army
Slot: Both*
Class: Grenadier
Possible variants: Standard 40mm ammo variants
Opinion: Ok, so this would be a very interesting addition, this is a mid war, single shot, under mounted grenade launcher for the M16 rifle, *It would take up both the primary and secondary slots so it isn't too OP, and would allow the Grenadier to be used in more than just a mid-long range offensive and defensive role, it would allow them to be used in CQC with a better chance for self defense using the M16.
More info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XM148_grenade_launcher

M203 Grenade Launcher:

Era: Late war
Possible faction use: U.S. Army, USMC, Southern Vietnamese Army
Slot: Both*
Class: Grenadier
Possible variants: Standard 40mm ammo variants
Opinion: essentially the same role as the XM148 except it would replace the XM for the US Forces on late war maps, could also have a faster reload as the XM is extremely bulky and heavy unlike the M203
More info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M203_grenade_launcher

North Vietnam/Communist Forces
North Vietnam forces:
(I won't be naming specific factions due to the weapons being universally used by all forces with little restriction)

Nagant M1895 revolver:

Era: Early war-Late war
Slot: Secondary
Class: All
Possible variants: Standard, suppressed available for marksman class
Opinion: Very widely used due to Soviet weapons being donated by the dozen
More Info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nagant_M1895

Škorpion vz. 61 automatic pistol:

Era: Mid war-Late war
Slot: Secondary
Class: Marksman, RPG, Machinegunner
Possible variants: Basic model
Opinion: Just a little PDW for classes that aren't viable in mid to short range combat
More Info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%A0korpion

Vz. 58:

Era: Late war
Slot: Primary
Class; Any with access to AK pattern rifles
Possible variants: Fixed stock model, folding stock model
Opinion: very interesting rifle, which can be fed by stripper clips, and even has a bolt release similar to the M16
More Info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vz._58

StG 44:

Era: Early war-Late war
Slot: Primary
Class: Commander
Possible variants: Basic model
Opinion: Although rare, it offered a slow rate of fire with ballistics similar to the 5.56 round
More Info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StG_44

Mauser Kar98k:

Era: Early war-Late war
Slot: Primary
Class: Marksman
Possible variants: standard iron sights, scoped rifle
Opinion: similar role as the Mosin but with a faster rate of fire and reload
More Info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karabiner_98k

MAS-36 rifle:

Era: Early war-Late war
Slot: Primary
Class: Rifleman
Possible variants: Basic rifle
Opinion: I think it'd be interesting for the rifleman to have access to a carbine with a bit more punch and range to it than the SKS, though it is balanced by a smaller magazine and lower rate of fire
More Info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MAS-36_rifle

PPS-43 submachine gun:

Era: Early war-Late war
Slot: Primary
Class: any with access to other SMG's
Possible variants: Basic model
Opinion: Just to add some needed variety to the SMG's
More Info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PPS_submachine_gun

MG-34/42:

Era: Early war-Late war
Slot: Primary
Class: Machinegunner
Possible variants: 250 round belt, 50 round box magazine
Opinion: High rate of fire killing machines, perfect for cutting through the jungle

Realistically speaking that's probably just to simplify the rifle, as the differences between countries (not counting Yugoslavia) were very minor and it likely wasn't worth adding more variants if there weren't any significant gameplay differences that came with them...
Though as an SKS owner myself I agree it would be cool to have the model randomized a bit depending on the era and map, just for that added bit of immersion

Sure thing! I had a list somewhere so i'll look it up, for starters more SKSs variations, at least 5 different socialist block countries provided PAVN/NLF with SKSs why do we only get the Chinese one ://

Yeah, I think the MAS-49/56 would be interesting as maybe a variant option for the regular MAS-49, with like a faster fire rate and faster movement speed....

And yeah, the Nagant revolver is one of my RO2 favorites as well, I'm honestly surprised it wasn't included by now because is saw a huge amount of use by the VC, having a suppressed variant would just be the cherry on top really, I'm still trying to think of more weapon ideas though so if you have anymore feel free to let me know and I'll add them, though I doubt the devs will ever look at this its still fun to make :)

also I have no idea WHY the MAC-10 isn't in the game it's literally THE vietnam SMG

Yeah I actually had a mini stroke there, I didn't realize you meant the MAS-36, the BOLT ACTION french service rifle, for some reason my mind thought of the MAS40 and 46 semi auto prototypes lol
And no the MAS49 is in the game, the first model, the improved 56 design, which was more abundant than the former, is not present sadly.

The Mosin revolver also, although useless, would make me very happy as it was one of my guns in RO2 and is a curious little pistol, although In-game it could be a sniper exclusive pistol, and come unsilenced, only for you to be able to attack a silencer pressing the weapon modification button(that you also use for folding stocks and etc)

Very good point but the MAS-49/56 is already in game :D
