Vurhonga Savanna Animal Location Map
** LIONS - Updated November 2020 **

Since the lions are almost random the best place to stalk out the lions in Central Savanna. You will need a lot of patience. Don't go into the Savanna thinking you'll shoot a Lion, you need patience and you need lots of it. Lions love to stalk and kill Gemsbok, once you find a herd of Gemsbok, stalk them out, if they get spooked and its not from you, watch, you will no doubtedly see a lion or the call of a lion chasing its prey.

I've marked on the map where I hunt for the Lions. Remember if you over hunt an area, the pressure will be too loud (Covered in pink) and you may need to go looking for a new area. Worst case scenario, hunt somewhere else and the more you hunt elsewhere the lower the previous pressure will drop.

Still a work in progress. I love hunting on this map and as you can see from the location of my tents one of my top spots for hunting the Big Cape Buff. If you're interested in a challenge, look to the north where the Cape Buff are located and visit the outpost, grab yourself an ATV and ride north over the edge and head towards the beach on the right where my tents are located. What you're effectively doing is herding the animals to a choke point. Done effectively, when you hit the beach a lovely surprise will await you. Get more people to help by covering a larger area and push forward towards the beach where my tents are located. Happy hunting.

Stampede

For those of you looking to add some excitement to the hunt, look at the map and head to the bottom left outpost called Dari Dari Hollow. Grab yourself an ATV and head to the yellow dotted area. This area is covered with Blue Wildebeest and Warthog's. As you're riding, stop and listening, what you're listening for is the sound of hooves, lots of them, its like a thunder of a 1000 horses all running together, if you look around that area you will find them, you'll certainly see there tracks, all very fresh. I've visited other maps and seen and heard, the times vary from early morning to late afternoon. A very exciting place to be and with friends, wow is all I can say.
Check out our Blue Wildebeest section
I've just wrote another guide on the stampede for the Blue Wildebeest which gets my heart racing and full of excitement.

I've added some areas on where I and some others hunt for Lions. Since the lions are hidden most of the time, it will differ from map to map. These are the locations that are popular for us.

I will update the map through the week. Look on the map and to the north west, that lake. There are always lions around that lake that constantly spawn around 6am to 12pm.

Look directly south, see the Lesser kudo path with the 2 lakes next to each other. Another popular area for lions as well as everything else.

Feel free to add me on Steam if you want to play sometime.

Lions are found mostly throughout the middle and over to the east, it's hard to try and pin point exactly where they're all the time.

Perhaps someone will visit here again, to answer your question what does "bok" mean. The word Gemsbok, Springbok is both Afrikaans words from South Afrika. The bok in a way translate to "buck" but it describes a species rather than a male antelope. Wildebeast is the English word for Wildebees (Afrikaans) "bees" is the Afrikaans word word cattle. Another interesting fact is that Springbok normal habitat is only in Namibia, Botswana and South Afrika, You do not find Springbok in Central African countries where this map is located.
Thanks for the map btw.

Wow thats a lot of hours, I often spend my hours locating what animals are where and hunting out the stampedes before being slaughtered by 50+ Wildebeest or Buff, but its so much fun when you're on the ATV chasing them down.
