A few hints for a 'Blitzkrieg'
By Grumpf
The key attribute is 'speed'. For this reason infantry divisions are „slow“ and the others (mot., mech. or tanks) are „fast“.

A) Management Phase
  1. Try to start a campaign with 8 fast divisions at minimum and add/upgrade 1-2 fast divisions for every further scenario.
  2. You can upgrade infantry divisions to mot. by giving transports to all regiments/batalions.
  3. Reinforcement pool: Buy as many transports as possible.
  4. You can add „supply-trucks“ of fast divisions to the pool (choose „wagon“).
  5. Give leaders with a speed bonus trait a fast division and leaders with a speed malus trait a slow one.
  6. Optimize the speed of tank regiments (i.e. concentrate batalions with 35 km/h-tanks in 1 regiment)
  7. You can change full (50) tank batalions with (<50) reinforcement tanks and then add a new batalion.
B) Operation phase
Keep in mind the effects of
-“no supply“: After a while the AI will sent a non-supplied division to a supplied node (usually backwards);
-“surrendering“: A division surrenders if it fails a morale check (usually during battle) AND has no opportunity to retreat to a friendly node.

Basic hints:
  1. Make a plan to break through the enemy line and cut them off supply.
  2. Except for this break-through don't attack without a good chance for an enemy-surrender.
  3. Avoid to attack „static“ enemies.
  4. Try to capture the destination node of (retreating) enemies before they reach it and wait for their attack.
  5. Secure your own supply routes (usually with mot. divisions).
  6. Avoid speed reductions of terrain or road quality.

Advanced hints:
  • Try to capture nodes „just in time“ the enemy is leaving (i.e. for an attack).
  • Capturing all nodes will give you a bonus of 1000 pts. In many cases this bonus is higher than the loss of time-bonus.

Grumpf if you like friend me and I would be happy to collaborate with you on the guide I was working on. You seem to know the game well and happy to work with you.
