You click W for forwards, S for backwards, A for left, D for right.
To add to that, you can jump with space.

After months of searching, I found no-one with a guide about this, then I spotted a book in my hand while playing. I read it, and threw it away. I learned nothing. So then I clicked W, then S, then A, then D. Then I clicked space. Minecraft taught me.

Shift + W = Super speed.

As far as non-movement type functions go, you can:
Press E to use stuff. (Buttons, switches, opening controllers, ect.)
Left click to place blocks and parts OR touse the hammer.
Right click to break blocks OR to "block" attacks with your hammer.
Press I to open your inventory, this is where you get blocks.
Press Ctrl to crouch.
Press one of the number key to pull out the item in that slot OR when in a seat press buttons attached to the seat.
Press Esc to get a menu to exit the game.
