Even novice adventurers quickly learn to spot the dormant mimic's telltales: no particle effects, a blatantly oversized banner, and a strange inability to directly target or otherwise interact with them. The result: a dwindling population of mimics being exploited for their goodies by well prepared fortune seekers.

Well, they've adapted, and reclaimed their raison d'être: the element of surprise. You might have to start looking at every treasure chest a bit differently now...
