Introduction
In 2018, where the average player has a few hundred wins, Silver I and II are very common rank to get placed in. Most of my friends take hundreds, or even thousands of hours to get to Silver II and a few hundred/thousand more to get to silver III. But, by then, they understand how to get better and quickly reach SE in a few weeks. Here is a few tips on how to get from silver I or II to high silver from someone who spent 1000+ hours in silver I and is currently global (although i wrote this guide as a nova).

Accept That You're bad
A lot of people who are stuck at this rank think they are actually around SE-Nova but, are stuck here because, of hackers and smurfs. There are practically no hackers and smurfs in Silver I because, the hackers would already be out of silver I and it is a pain to keep a smurf at Silver I. Work on making yourself better instead of whining about how that shot was impossible.

Don't buy the Bizon against armored opponents, ever
A mistake that is also found in silver 2-4, the bizon has very low damage and armor penetration and thus, takes 7-9 shots to the body or 3 to the head to kill an armored opponent, for a cheaper price, the UMP is available, which is a 2 shot headshot and 5-6 shots for the body. Also, if you can afford it, the AK-47/M4 is a much better option than any SMG (if your opponent has armor)
Understand the Economy
A huge mistake among silver 1s is their lack of economy knowledge, here are some quick economy tips
- A save round is when you spend no more than $500, if you spend $1000 for armor+helm on saves, you will not save much money at all.
- Always buy armor before your weapon, and if money is tight on ct side, aks and awps can 1-shot headshot you anyway and you only need a vest
- Never buy the Auto on T-Side except on round 15 and 30
- If the other team is buying autos and winning rounds, use an AWP to counter it.
- If you have >$10K and your teammates have <$2000 , instead of buying an awp/auto, armor, full nades and a kit, make everybody buy armor and buy everyone a UMP/ MP9/ Mac-10.
- If you lose pistol round, force on round 2 and save on round 3 if you lose and full buy on round 4
Warm Up
Spend 15-30 minutes before each match warming up, and there is no person who "doesn't need to warm up." Here are a couple methods you can warm up with, don't just use one, use all of them.
- HS (Headshot) only Deathmatch : This helps with your aim and crosshair placement (as a lot of silvers aim for the body/legs), they are found in the community servers, don't worry if you get wrecked really hard, the average skill group here is somewhere in nova, unlike normal DM which seems to be filled with Silver 1-2s.
-Retake Servers : Retake servers are where the bomb is already planted and the CTs are scattered across the map with random weapons near the site and have to kill the terrorists and defuse the bomb. The Ts have to of course, prevent the defuse and protect the bomb, the average skill group here is GN3-MG1, that means you can learn a lot from how these people behave.
- Jump practice/kz : This helps with your movement which can help you get into positions which require air strafing, you can find these maps in the workshop.
- Aim_botz : A map where bots spawn all around you and you have to shoot them as fast as you can. There are other maps like this but, this is the most popular one. Also found on the workshop
Focus on the AK-47/M4A4
Although weapons like the P90 and AWP/SSG/Deagle have their uses, the weapons you want to become the most familiar with are the M4A4 and AK-47, the AK-47 is the cheapest one shot headshot rifle on T-side and the M4A4 can't one shot headshot but, has very high DPS at any range and an easily controllable recoil pattern. The M4A1-S, although having its advantages, lacks in ammo and firerate.
Queue up
If you and your team perform well on a game, add them all to a lobby and play a few games together, if you enjoy playing with them, add them on steam for later. Or start a clan with them if you want to. It is also good to queue with people 2-5 ranks higher than you to learn boost spots, smoke spots, strats, and how much of a scrub you are.
Stop when you shoot
A lot of guns have high movement innacuracy so, if you move and shoot, your shots will fly all over the place. Use a dynamic crosshair until you have a good idea on how to counter-strafe.
Fatigue is a thing
As you play more matches, you do worse, 2-5 matches a day is the ideal amount of matches you should be playing (depends on the person), fatigue is a thing and if you have done 4 or 5 matches and have more spare time, try training on aim_botz or play some DM.
Adjust your setup
You need to adjust your setup to gain an advantage, here are some tips
- Your sensitivity should be equal to One 360º spin for a swipe from one edge to another of your mousepad. Anything else is wasted space.
- You want to be getting preferably a few hundred FPS, adjust your settings/computer until you reach this (if you can).
- The Top of your monitor should be at eye-height
-Don't Slouch, focus on the screen, keep your eyes about 1-2 feet from your monitor depending on the size.
Don't expect instant results
Following these tips for a week and complaining about being still silver I is the same as doing 25 push ups and complaining on how you don't have a six-pack. You have to be doing this for a few weeks or months before seeing results, don't let a loss or a bad game discourage you, there's always next game.
Don't Tilt, Have Fun
CS:GO can cause tilting, if you get tilted, tell your team you have to pee and call a time out, close your eyes, and breathe until the time out is over. Don't enter a game tilted, if you want to re-queue while you're tilted, don't, go outside, take a walk, don't let the game control you.
Conclusion
Those are my tips, sorry this was short but, GLHF.
