@Two - That's why i said there should be no issues. I almost always start a new save when i start RimWorld, since i'm always adding or removing mods.

But removing/having a mod removed from an existing save-game will create some issues, and most are game-breaking, depending on how much that mod changes.

@Fenerium - If he removes the mod then the next time a player starts RW they won't have the mod and the game will throw a warning that their mod list is different. The biggest issue is that for decently size lists and bigger it can become really hard to figure out which mod was removed. I had that happen with the 140% version of the Tilled Soil mod; the author just removed the mod and broke my save.

@Linkolas - Pretty sure there's no issues with deleting/unsubscribing from a mod, even while in-game. (Personal experience)

What about instead of straight deleting it, swap the code so that on main menu load a pop up appears saying that the official version is out and that a link to it can be found in the about section of your mod in the modlist?
