[CW2.0] RPD

The RPD is a 7.62mm light machine gun developed in the Soviet Union by Vasily Degtyaryov for the 7.62×39mm M43 intermediate cartridge. It was created as a replacement for the DP machine gun chambered for the 7.62×54mmR round. It is a precursor of most squad automatic weapons. It was succeeded in Soviet service by the RPK. During the Vietnam War, the RPD served the Viet Cong as their standard light machine gun. Originally proposed in 1943 for use in WWII, and produced in 1944, it did not see mass production until 1953. After it was introduced into the Soviet army, it quickly gained recognition from across the world, as it became the precursor to what would be known as a “squad automatic weapon”. Chambered in 7.62x39, it was a semi stout cartridge; however due to firing from the open bolt, it lost some of it’s potential energy. Production ceased in 1960 with the introduction of the RPK taking it’s spot as a “SAW".

To start off, this RPD was not actually ported by me. It was ported by Rinic from the game MW2. I came across his pack a long while ago, and wanted to make them more realistic. While his RPD goes off with a style similar to the actual game, mine will try and stray off into specifics. I know that last sentence doesn't make sense, but I mean this: His RPD focuses more on being a COD gun, while mine focuses on staying specific to the era. How so you may ask? Well, removed some sights I feel weren't appropriate for the environment, removed a lot of unnecessary content to make the pack smaller, and made some changes to damage and recoil. If the recoil feels a bit too easy, I'll change it up a bit. I will also try and keep this pack updated regularly if any issues come up.

Will try and add some more realistic statistics in later updates.

I do not claim to have made the entirety of this, I have simply removed some extra content as well as made some changes to make the weapon more specific and realistic. I don't make content for money and simply do this for fun or to help some of my friends who wants specific guns w/o having to download so much.
