Hello ! This guide would explan in depth on how to run the game on normal pace . Many users have been reportng that the game runs twice as fast rather than its meant to be and this guide would fix this issue for them! (it helped me too)

*Edit : the guide has now been updated to be more accurate with newer versionn

Just Follow These Steps !

1 : download dgVoodoo from here : http://dege.freeweb.hu/

2 : After downloading the latest version , browse to the "3Dfx" and "MS" folders and copy the contents from x86 folders within both (contents in x64 aren`t of any use to us) to the folder where the game executable is under Steam`s folder ( NOTE : copy the files , not folders)

4 : you are almost done , just run dgVoodo after following above instructions and set the path to the game folder where the .exe file is . Go to the DirectX subsection and and tick "Force vSync" under the miscellanneous heading

5 : run the game ! hopefully it would have fixed the thing

You can also simply lock the framerate to 60 using something like Nvidia Control Panel (if you have an Nvidia GPU), or Rivatuner Statistics Server.

@swamp_roo™ good for you i guess. IDK but i have had to update this guide twice in order to be accurate cause for some reasons something always breaks everytime i tried patching the game with newer installations. I am pretty sure there is again something missing here. Its good if there`s another fix for it.

Ya, so your method didn't work properly for me.
I did this instead, saw a review on the storepage with a fix that worked;}

2. unzip both files in the "system" folder of the game
3. open the direct3d8.ini and set the FPS limit to 60 FPS"

Works fine now. In case anyone has the same issue where the game chugs using DG :)
