With this tutorial you will be able to pass / fix firewall error that appears after doing anything related to internet connection (Join, Host, Community buttoms). In other words you will be finally able to play with your friends and / or other people over internet / LAN just like on retail version.

Whitelisting Unreal Tournament 2004 in Firewall

Just like title says, we have to whitlelist our target on Firewall's list. Give it both rights for private and public network.

Fixing Firewall error message in UT2004.ini

To do it, you have to head to your Unreal Tournament 2004's sytem directory. It usually looks like that :

X : \ Program Files \Steam \ SteamApps \ Common \ Unreal Tournament 2004 \ System

In that folder look for UT2004.ini and open it. You will see a lot of stuff there and it's highly adviced to not edit it without proper knowledge. Now you have to copy two lines of text that will solve your problem :

[FireWall]
IgnoreSP2=1

Paste it before any header like [Core.System] for example. If you are having problems with understanding it then just refer to my screen shot below. Just remember to save changes!
