First things first

You will have to progress through the story all the way to Misty Passages.

Now the part where you rake in the gold

You will have access to a side-quest called An Overwhelming Presence, where you'll have to survive for a number of rounds.

Make sure to set the game mode to "Explorer", so that no encounters happen. Then play the subquest on horrific difficulty and keep hitting the space bar. After 18 rounds of doing nothing you'll be awarded with 1K-1.5K gold and 3 legendary chests. Make sure to buy Singing Wind for Birdsong ASAP in order to maximize the cash earned.

But wait, there's more...

You can use this AutoHotkey script to automate the whole thing:

#MaxThreadsPerHotkey 3 F8:: Toggle := !Toggle Loop { If (!Toggle) Break Click Click, right Send, {Space} Sleep 250 } Return

Next, place the mouse roughly where the red X is in the image below and press F8. If done right, you'll end up auto-clicking through all of the end-of-mission screens and then "Restart".

Just press F8 again when you're done.

Thanks for the tip,it was very helpful.
A couple of things you didn't mention:this quest is useful at lower difficulties also to farm blue(normsl) and purple(hard) mats if you're going for the "Legendary Crafter" achievement and to speed things up you should go in with only Birdsong with the upgraded lute.

Script works for me only in desktop, but not in the game...

@KT Chong Nope, end turn is done by simulating a space bar press. The mouse is placed there strictly for the end-of-mission buttons. Clicking the first ability is an unavoidable side-effect, but that is worked around by following up with a right-click.

I think your second screen capture (the one of the dungeon) marks the red X in the wrong location. The red X should be on the the "NEXT PHASE [SPACE]" to skip turns, not to activate/press the first at-will skills.

Automate it seems a bit too much, but the for the insane farming this game needs, I'm in for the first advice on your guide. TYVM.
