@Ⲥⲏⲧ Yes, the earliest version of Civ3 released in CN called China "Jiu Ding Guo" and the leader was Tang Taizong. That's true when I purchased game discs more than ten years ago. :) But the steam version remains Chairman Mao.
Our government is always sensitive with entertainment products. The game is no exception. Game developers will make some compromises and changes if they want to publish their games in CN. We gamers feel funny about those modifications. ))

At least I’ve seen his model from Civ 3, Civ 4 and Civ Rev 2, circulating amongst modders on the web with such an origin claimed.
