I saw my dad playing his way through a Portal 2 single-player level (Chapter 7, Ascension) and got the idea to create this chamber.

@Chariot_Rider Thanks for the dedication to follow up on solving the fixed map, and for contributing another blind-run video to help me see how people solve it. I very much appreciate it! To answer your question, the orange gel is there to simply give the player access to doing a closer inspection in the bottleneck area of the chamber, and to more accurately shoot portals on the surfaces there . Hope that clears up the confusion :)
