Demopan
Ah, Demopan. The second-most feared subclass from snipers on 2fort.

Loadout

Most Demopans have a loadout with the following:

Any Primary, Mostly Bootlegger or Loose Cannon

Sticky Jumper

The Frying Pan

Some other Demopan variants include the following:

The Base Jumper

Sticky Jumper

Scottman's Skullcutter

That loadout of sometimes used in alternative, since the melee range is greater, and the skullcutter is considered "the competetive meta" for some people.

Strategy

Most demopan place two stickies on the ground, like so:

[Map on tr_walkway]

Then, they jump over the stickies, and detonate them at the right time. Your timing could be different, since you may want to go farther or higher.

If you need additional help with sticky jumping, Nate Fox made an excellent tutorial on this.

Approaching the Enemy

When near the enemy, (probably a sniper), he will either:

1. Not Notice You
2. Run towards spawn

If he doesn't notice, it's OK to toy with them. Shout "spy", "thanks", and "nice shot". Eventually, he'll hear you and most likely get that random crit that you should've gotten hitting him...

If he does notice you, he'll most likely run towards spawn or into cover. Try jumping and strafing by hitting SPACEBAR, A, and D often, and when he misses, attempt to run faster by sticky jumping. If he does go into spawn, bait him out by juking him. You could try:

1. Fake jumping (placing stickies and detonating).
2. Wait for him to pop out, and "run away".
3. Hide in a corner.

However, if you are on the other side, like from far spawn and barricade on ctf_2fort, then your best options are:

1. Sneak on the ledge by the windows.
2. Jumping around the battlements to surprise him.
3. Jump away. If he jarate'd you, then run.

Otherwise, go for him!

Not Getting Airshot

To avoid being headshot, be unpredictable:

1. Strafe in the air.
2. Crouch and jump frequently.

There are other alternative methods, but these are the basics.
Trolldier
The Trolldier, the most fun and either the most loved or hated subclass.

Loadout

Most Trolldier Loadouts Use the Following:

Rocket Jumper

Mantreads or Bison

Market Gardener

Another variant of the loadout:

Rocket Jumper

Shotgun

Market Gardener or Equalizer

This loadout is used only when an enemy is hiding from you, or you want to taunt kill. This is not recommended to use normally.

Strategy

A Trolldier's Strategy can be different depending on your team. If your team has plenty of defense, it may be wise for you to take out all enemy medics, demomen, snipers, and spies. Also, DO NOT GO AFTER SCOUTS OR ENGINEERS UNLESS EITHER NECESSARY OR DEFENSLESS.. Most Scouts can easily meatshot you and then taunt after kill, and engineers will have sentries. If your team is offensive, go for snipers and soldiers. The Market Gardener can kill 7 of the 9 classes, (Soldier and Heavy). The Crit from the Garden does 195 damage, so soldiers will have 5 health left. It is wise to go for them when the jump, in a fight, or take fall damage. Heavies are only for the cleanup, when they are low or running in a straight line with the melee.

Rocket Jumping

Rocket Jumping has a very high skill ceiling. I recommend starting with the jumper, and as you become better, if you wish, switch to stock, the Air Strike, or the Liberty Launcher. These are good bombers, backups, or damage dealers when you can't Market Garden.

Nate Fox also made a great Rocket Jumping tutorial.

The Mantreads

These are useful for air control and goomba-stomping enemies. If they are low, sometimes your mantreads will kill them, or put them low for a non-crit swing with your melee. Mantreads are amazing at countering pyro's airblast and scout's Force-A-Nature.

The Market Gardener

Probably what you came for. The Market Gardener only deals crits in the air. The time it takes for the Market Gardener to swing is about 0.25 seconds, so when you are about to kill someone, take the shovel out, and swing about that much earlier. You'll be guarenteed the crit, unless hitreg has something to say about it. This takes plenty of skill to learn, and practice. I recommend the map tr_walkway, since it offers bots that you can customize to practice with.

Alternative Strategies

1. Bunny-Hopping. (Bind +jump to MWHEELDOWN or MWHEELUP.)
2. Shotgun. Most trolldiers who use this, can't honestly hit anyone with the Market Gardener.
3. Bison. Respectable secondary volvo pls buff.

Approaching the Enemy

This part is crucial, so read.

1. Strafing is key. Nate Fox covers it in his video.
2. Be unpredictable. Soundsmith also makes great content for it.
Here you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_4Mn9g870A
3. Try flanking. It may work on some maps, but definetly not CTF.

Not getting airshot

Try counter-strafing and using complex jumps to your advantage. Sync jumps are excellent at this.
Snipers aren't your main concern while rocket jumping...

1. Scouts like hitting you for 48 or 3 damage, and will chase you relentlessly. Scouts are nice...
2. Heavies will mow you like summer grass.
3. Good Direct Hit Soldiers can airshot you before you say "oof".
4. A Good Sniper has a chance of hitting you, but not really... unless you are Snow or a hacker.
5. Sentries and Mini-Sentries. The bane of trolldier existence. Whatever you do, don't yell at their Engineer, he'll make it hell for you.

Memes

After Gardening your friend, kill bind. To do this, enable Developer's Console in Advanced Options.

Next, Click "Enable Developer's Console".

Press ~ or ` on your keyboard. (next to "1" and above "tab").

Type this: bind k "kill". or bind k "explode".

This can be fun or a waste of time, depending on the setting.
Nah, just kidding, kill binds are always nice.

After missing a garden, it may be wise to kill bind, you may not live.

Sometimes, an enemy will do something hilarious, and saying "lol", "lmao", or "XD" is always something OK.

Generally it's a bad idea to use W or S while strafing. This significantly decreases your speed. Use the A and D keys to strafe with non-aggressive mouse movements (moving your mouse wildly will halt most of your movement). Though using W+S and flailing your mouse can be a real tactic, especially against a competent sniper or projectile class.

Good guide. Some additional table of contents sections would be nice so you could click to the Demopan or Trollgier loadouts. Very nice guide with many details though. Would love to see more overtime but that is up to you.
