How to
You want to see more than 2thousand troops fighting the field of battle. Even when you're using the most elite of elite troops your army has to offer.

But...I hear you stumble. I don't want to use any mods! Them modders are pesky filth that need to be strung up to their toes and their scalps should be cut off and left to dry in the scorching sun while peeing over it continuously!

Before you proceed with diving into the files I implore you to FULLY read this post before commencing.

Well then...Look no further.

But wait! That’s not Swedish flag! You’re a liar, you’re using mods! You’re correct. It’s not Swedish flags. It’s the flag of the Republic of Sweden!

As you can see. All units have a larger amount of soldiers but the guns for artillery remain the same. Only the crew get’s larger.

So. What do you have to?
It’s simple;
*You will need to open a file called preferences.script. > Use Notepad
The file can be found at {Your Computer's Name}/AppData/Roaming/The Creative Assembly/Empire/scripts

Please note that AppData is set as a hidden folder. So you may need to make hidden files viewable, which can be done through Folder Options in the Control Panel. The Preferences file may also be set to 'Read Only,' if so you will have to change this.

*Look for a line entitled campaign_unit_multiplier > Use ctrl+f to open search; copy paste bold text into search hit enter

Unedited, the line should read, I believe,

campaign_unit_multiplier 1; # campaign_unit_multiplier <float>, Set default unit multiplier for campaign #

*Change the '1' to 2.5, and you will get units that are 2.5 times larger. So a 160 man unit is now a 400 man unit.

***All numbers up to 4 work except for 1.1, 1.3, 1.4, and 2. Artillery batteries will remain with only 4 guns of strength. This only effects the number of 'bodies' in a unit.

*You will next need to change a line gfx_unit_scale > Use ctrl+f to open search

Make sure your line looks like this,

gfx_unit_scale 3; # gfx_unit_scale <int>, Set unit scale. 0 - lowest, 3 - ultra #

What this does is set the scale of units when your unit scale is set on 'Ultra.'

That's it!

You’re a noob! Putting your troops outside the fort!!!! Just so happens that it entices the AI to send their cavalry towards the fort so you can easily kill them :steamhappy:

https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1449713968

Large amount of soldiers on the fort walls can get a bit difficult to position them. Keep this in mind! The fort pathfinding is already really finicky and will become even more so with larger troop numbers per regiment.
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1449714003

As you can see; 1 generals bodyguard + 4 units of militia almost hitting the 2thousand troops that you usually get from a 20 unit army. As previously mentioned the flag is Republic of Sweden as noted by the Conscripts which are only available to Republican nations. Don’t worry though. Those filthy scum have been killed and our monarchy has been re-established!

PS
*Should after you’ve fiddled with the numbers your game inadvertedly crash upon loading. Go back to the appdata/roaming/creative assembly and DELETE your Empire folder.
This should allow you to start up your game while having every setting lost and try again.

*Should you do this with a current existing save It works but is far from recommended You might get discrepancies in unit sizes. Existing units may be smaller than units that are freshly recruited after the change.

*Start a new campaign to ensure the best integrity of gameplay.

*USE AT YOUR OWN RISK

@Mr. Rigs did you use notepad++ to make the changes? And did you check if the changes were still there after you put it on read-only?

I have edited the number as directed, saved the script and opened a new campaign and I absolutely cannot get my unit size to increase.

Everything is edited properly and I went back to the comments to see that i apparently needed to apply "read only to the script

gfx_unit_scale 3; # gfx_unit_scale <int>, Set unit scale. 0 - lowest, 3 - ultra #

campaign_unit_multiplier 2.5; # campaign_unit_multiplier <float>, Set default unit multiplier for campaign #

I understand that initial units are stuck at 160 but further recruitment is also staying at 160 unit size. I am not sure what I am doing wrong here

The only issue is that you need to start a new game in order to be applied.

@Vlad Draculea; ***All numbers up to 4 work except for 1.1, 1.3, 1.4, and 2. Artillery batteries will remain with only 4 guns of strength. This only effects the number of 'bodies' in a unit.

So no. 2 does not work. Why, don't ask me.

is it true that just 2 for campaign unit multiplier doesnt work? so u have to pick 2.1 to 2.5?
