You need to download some tools to change the game language to English.

Keep in mind that it's a fan translation and in very early stages so the quality may still vary.

3.Unreal Engine 4 .locres (Text tool by swuforce)

Download the attachment called "Unreal Engine 4 .locres (Text tool by swuforce).rar" of the first post.

You will need to decompress the files to use them.

Start the tool quickbms.exe

Please select "unreal_tournament_4.bms" when this screen is displayed.


When this screen is displayed, please select "steam\steamapps\common\NOSTALGIC_TRAIN\NostalgicTrain\Content\Paks\NostalgicTrain-WindowsNoEditor.pak" in the steam game folder.


When this screen is displayed, please select "steam\steamapps\common\NOSTALGIC_TRAIN" in the steam game folder.


After waiting for a while, this screen will appear, press Enter.
Delete NostalgicTrain-WindowsNoEditor.pak after it finishes.

Please start the game.

If it is displayed like this, please proceed to the next section.

If this font and the font are different, please do what is written in this section.

Please display "steam\steamapps\common\NOSTALGIC_TRAIN\NostalgicTrain\Content\_TetdudouMokei\Data" in Explorer.

Please rename 3 files and 1 folder like this:

繝輔か繝ｳ繝・HuiFontP29.uasset → HuiFontP29.uasset
繝輔か繝ｳ繝・HuiFontP29.ufont → HuiFontP29.ufont
繝輔か繝ｳ繝・HuiFontP29_Font.uasset → HuiFontP29_Font.uasset

Please move these files to the folder you just renamed.
HuiFontP29.uasset → フォント\HuiFontP29.uasset
HuiFontP29.ufont → フォント\HuiFontP29.ufont
HuiFontP29_Font.uasset → フォント\HuiFontP29_Font.uasset

Copy "steam\steamapps\common\NOSTALGIC_TRAIN\NostalgicTrain\Content\Localization\Game\ja-JP\Game.locres" to the folder of "Unreal Engine 4 .locres (Text tool by swuforce)".
(It is the same place as the exe file.)

Start the "UE4_.locres_export.exe".

When this window appears, select "Game.locres".

Change the contents of the created text file.
Access the file of the translation project.

Please select everything but the first line from the second column (B2 to B3166) and copy (CTRL + C) it to the clipboard.
Replace with the contents of the original "Game.locres.txt".

Save all changes when done.
Delete "Unreal Engine 4 .locres (Text tool by swuforce)\Game.locres".

Start the "UE4_.locres_import.exe".
When the window appears, select "Game.locres.txt".
"Game.locres" is created.

Replace "Unreal Engine 4 .locres (Text tool by swuforce)\Game.locres" with "steam\steamapps\common\NOSTALGIC_TRAIN\NostalgicTrain\Content\Localization\Game\ja-JP\Game.locres".


Last but not least you will also need to replace 3 files to change the Japanese Resources to use your new English locres:

You'll have to Copy 3 files:


Go to the folder NOSTALGIC_TRAIN\NostalgicTrain\Content\_TetdudouMokei\Data\

Now copy these files:

NostaglicTrainDiagolue.uasset
NostaglicTrainNatsugiriMemo.uasset
StoryTipsDataTable.uasset

and paste (overwrite!!!) them into this folder:

NOSTALGIC_TRAIN\NostalgicTrain\Content\L10N\ja-JP\_TetdudouMokei\Data


Now it's finished! Congratulations, the game is now using English instead of Japanese.
