Customising your workspace.
By MagicalGirlBeth
The default workspace for OpenCanvas 7 is a bit..."cluttered", don't you think?

Don't worry, we're here to resolve that. In this guide I'm going to show you how to customise your workspace to look tidier and cleaner.

Default: Untidy.
One of the best things I like about OpenCanvas 7 is that the windows are all seperated and you can move them around as you wish. This means YOU can choose how OpenCanvas looks.

In the first screenshot, you can see the default setup for OpenCanvas 7.

Not very ideal, is it? The windows are everywhere and it gets in the way of what you're trying to draw.
Let's try to resolve that.
Hand Control and Shortcut Control.
First off, let's get rid of the "Hand Control" and the "Shortcut Control". I'm talking about these little pesky things:

They can be turned off with these two buttons in the corner.

There we go. Now we're set to reorganise all of those windows around our workspace.

Windows.
What you're going to want to do is click on "Window" in the toolbar above. See all of those ticks? Those are the windows you currently have on. Let's try to get rid of some we most likely won't need. I'm going to turn off the Shortcut window and the Brush size window.

As you can see, they're now gone.

You're going to want to note that some window options are joined together in one window, such as the Reference, Magnifier and Event logs windows. Feel free to deselect whatever ones you feel you won't need, and reselect them if you do need them. And if you want them seperated, you can click on the title of them and drag them apart. Now you they should be separated.

Alright, our workspace is looking much tidier already.

Now it's time to move them about. Make sure you don't have the "Lock Window Operation" on in the tool window or you won't be able to move anything.

Oh I almost forgot! Remember that you can stretch and make your windows bigger if needed. Just hold left click on the corner of the window and pull the window to resize it as you wish.

Now hold left click on the top of any window you would like to move and drag it where ever you need.
Finished Workspace.
Right now OpenCanvas should be looking much more tidier and easy to work with enough space and such. This is my finished, desired workspace.

Once you have everything the way you want, make sure to save your workspace so you don't have to do all this over again. Go to the toolbar > Window > Workspace > Save Workspace. Give it a cute name, click OK, and you're ready to rock and roll!

Remember our friend 'Lock Window Operation'? If you run into the habit of moving your windows by accident, turning this on will prevent your windows from moving while you work :3
Background Colour.
We're not done just yet. Time for one last tip: Changing your background colour. If for some reason you don't like all of that black, you can change the background colour. Go to the toolbar > Edit > Change Background colour. Then choose whatever colour you need!

Now that's the end of this guide! I hope this was helpful to someone! (✿◠‿◠)

@Mommy Hey, hey. I would like to sincerely apologise for only now getting back to your comment, due to other matters. I don't want to leave your question unanswered either.

For blending I see two options: 1) Menu > Filter. There are a variety of settings you can use to adjust colouring and general image quality. 2) Menu > Layer > New Layer > Mode. The drop menu also has a variety of options and modes to use, depending on what you're looking for.

I'm not too familiar with blending options so hopefully everything you need is there. If you have any other queries, just let me know ^_^ You can also leave a comment on my profile if you wish.

By blending, do you mean the blur tool or in regards to layers/filters?

I have one question :| does this application have any sort of blending to it if it does I'm completely lost about how it works or if there even is a blending tool
