Misc
Potions that hold more than one charge will refill after you finish the Dungeon(as long as there's one charge left).

You can walk back down/up throughout the Dungeon levels(use this to go back and grab potions you left behind, buy from stores or pray at shrines)

Holding the Attack Key will have the follow effects on each class:
- The Crusader will Heal
- The Witch replenishes Mana
- The Mercenary will double his Damage

Stats are Capped at the Following Values:
- Attack and Agility, 20
- Health and Mana, 60(20 levels)

Key Items allow you to unlock gear and secrets, keep them in your stash:
- Red Keycard
- Mineral Ore
- Power Berry
- Vampire Heart
- Hot Spring Water

You can read about how to unlock secrets and extra gear from this guide.
Achievements
Money Achievements: You don't have to accumulate the set amounts. The game will calculate all the gold you've collected in general, regardless of whether you spend it or not.

Merciful Blow/It's not Safe Here/Dead by Dawn: You should be able to get all these achievements at once by drinking Poison on the first Dungeon Floor with HP reduction skills, items or shrines. Poison is an uncommon drop.

Lucky Strike: This is extremely easy but somewhat time consuming to achieve. Use the Witch during Endless, max your Attack and have both Magic Amp skills active. To reach the damage threshold you will have to parry an enemy's attack.

Barely a Scratch: Simply allow yourself to get hit until you arrive at one HP, I suggest going to the first dungeon as it's the easiest to do this in. Make sure you have no miracle heals and don't use any altars nor potions.

Undying: Earning this achievement is extremely easy if you own a Bubbly Potion - 5 charges of the potion will heal a total of 20HP.
Bosses and Enemies
Tips for Bosses(SPOILERS):

Frostbitten: For some this boss seems impossible, until they realise that all they have to do is block his attacks and hit him once he reloads. This will take off his frost aura and allow you to hit him.

Hynx: An easy yet time consuming fight. Hit him whenever he charges a "kamehameha" (makes a ball of energy and lowers his barrier). If you don't cancel his first shot he will keep shooting energy waves. He does a similar charge to create a gust of wind/poison, but it can also be cancelled. During the fight there will be a snake of energy balls going up and down, similar to Drosera's vines. It doesn't deal much damage so keep blocking unless you get a chance to hit Hynx.

Azathoth: Another simple fight if you know what you're doing. When he glows Red he will bombard the area, dealing moderate damage. Most of these explosions won't hit, but in some cases all of them might hit you as they're completely random. When he glows Blue you should block at all costs as he will poison you, this is where you usually end up dying. After the poison/song a worm will come out of the top and when you hit him he will fall - you will also receive a few free shots at the boss.

The Devil: His first phase is rather simple and you get enough time to block all his spells. The second phase is much more difficult due to very brief attack animations. He will be using various attacks including shots(like Red Demons), bombs and fire breathing. He also comes equipped with a simple healing spell.

The following are some of the enemies you should definitely be more careful about and pay attention when fighting:

- Evil Fairies (very brief attack animations make her a menace, make sure to block again if you fail to defend against her first hit)
- Coal Golems (fire breath requires you to block for three constant attacks)
- Disembodied Heads (a pest, not too hard but it deals heavy damage, if you fail to block once it will keep shooting)
- Red Demons (attacks often, sometimes it bugs and start firing a barrage without stopping)
- Cockatrices (petrify and quick attacks, similar to the Gargoyle)
- Possessed Armours (heavy damage, high armor)
- Ancile Guards (patience is key, the first time they block will reflect any of your attacks, the next time they will attack after their shield shines)

Effective Skills and Items
Miracle Heal is truly a miracle as it is one of the most useful skills to have, however most classes cannot unlock a high % for it to trigger, with the exception of the Mercenary. This is why rare items such as Airmid's Dirk are key to your survival as they come with a Miracle Heal bonus.

Any level can be rendered easier with the use of a constant heal throughout the level, meaning any item with a percentage of Miracle Heal helps. A Bubbly Potion is also a good way to guarantee your survival during tough Boss Fights.

I tend to mostly use only the Crusader as he has very balanced stats and he is easy to use. I tend to add 2 extra points into Agility, and then depending on the run I might add a point or so in Health. The rest I always put into Attack.

Once you have enough money to level up your Witch and also own a Healing Wand as well as Hynx's Staff you should have no problem clearing any kind of levels as long as you have some mana regen and put a few points into Health.

To have a successful build you must think of all the pros and cons. A class with high base stats might want some additional resistances or Miracle/Torrent. This also depends a lot on what you're going to play. If you're playing Endless, some damage reduction and Miracles are key to increase your odds of surviving. The 1HP/2HP per floor skills are not at all worth it, and those that reduce your health each floor are negligible if you have Miracle Heal. Bear in mind that during Endless you will encounter Shrines which will boost your Stats. I recommend leveling Skills that include Dodging, Crits, Torrent or Miracle as flat Stats lose their effectiveness in Endless(due to the cap being set at 20).

Make sure to synergise your skills and items in such way that any item you own covers any faults that some of your skills might inflict and viceversa.
Before Ending the Game
The game has three endings and each of them has a different requirement to get it, as well as earn the achievement. The first ending is unlocked by beating the last dungeon with having EITHER the Zakkum Tree of Mage's Tower. The second ending unlocks once you've beaten both the Tree and Tower. To earn the third ending as well as receive the Achievement you will have to beat the dugeon a third time with after unlocking all of the secrets. (keep in mind you have to beat the dungeon, which is right next to the endless one which will always glow red)

Well, I'd argue there's plenty of basic gameplay information mixed in with the more in-depth stuff. But to refer to your main point, unfortunately I can't recall anything about scrolls. It's been 5 years since I've created this guide so my memory is quite vague, sorry.

Drosera (Zakkum Tree): Attack it only when it's trying to attack you, and vines won't appear. It's an incredibly easy boss fight if you do this.

I'm not sure if vines are triggered by attacking when it's idle, or by attacking when it's in hitstun.
