Fix for 144mhz displays:
Press Alt + Enter
Game will reset to 60hz no need to change monitor settings.

Currently running in Aspect Ratios other than 16:9 will make the text overlap and give you graphical glitches. Set a resolution that matches 16:9 ratio before starting game.

The first time you start the game the controls will feel slow and laggy.
Quit game restart and choose win 7-8 or win10 start. Controls will now be precise.

Boot up quicker (plus possible fix if game won't start).
Delete or Rename the Atari.mp4 video in the Steam\steamapps\common\Tempest 4000\Win10\Assets (Or Win7-8) folder

The keyboard mappings aren't shown in game and you can't currently change them, they are:

Keyboard mappings :

A,B,X,Y as by Xbox controller
Return/Enter as the 'A' key
P - acts as 'Left shoulder Button' ( pause and quits from the main screen )
S - jump
F - Superzapper
Cursor keys : joystick movements ( left stick )

Secret Xbox controller button:
Left Trigger: = Lean
You can hold still but fire to the lane left or right of you using Left Trigger.

To customize gamepad controls:
Use Big Picture Mode - Controller Settings.
You can enable PS4 pad here or change button mappings.

Spinner Support:
Tempest4000 utilises the Xinput library so works with any controller that is compatible with it, be sure the controller is attached to the PC before starting the game.
Use Big Picture Mode - Controller settings to configure it.

Change Music:
Press Y on the level select screen.

Skip Multiple Levels:
Press Up/Down on d-pad.

Gameplay Tips:
Skip up/down levels looking for where you had more lifes then restart from there.

Replay/Restart from the level before you lost a lot of lives.
Keep quick restarting level using LB and Y until you finish the level with a better life tally.
It will save this updated amount of lives only if its a better score.

Remember you dont get points while jumping. (Unless in Pleasure mode)

Your invincible in Beauty mode and KLF MooMoo mode.

Your also invincible for a fraction of a second after landing a jump.

You can tell when your invincible as your ship is hollow outline only not filled in yellow.

Your also invincible as you re-enter the grid after dieing.

Save the super zapper for when you have been caught by an enemy and are being dragged down the web.

Always use your super zapper each level it gives x2 points so use if you need a score boost to beat that levels best score.

You start from where you die with everything in the same position. Make note of where any powerups or 1ups are and get back to them while your reentering the grid after dieing.

Learn to love your AI buddy. Try to survive till he appears. Then let him do all the work and concentrate on keeping safe and completing the level. (Use jump a lot)

Grab a powerup just as you complete the level and are warping off. Yes Yes Yes. You will then start next level with an AI buddy or better weapons on 1st powerup you collect.
