We've made a modification to the long-fall boots based on some technology we found lying around in-between universes. This seems to interfere with the operation of the portal gun, but it's early days yet - I'm sure we'll have the problems ironed out shortly.

Just a note of caution: apparently there are some slight risks associated with the use of technology which was never designed to be operated within a universe. There's a minor, 85% chance the boots will pick up resonating signals from topographically similar universes, causing paranoia and hallucinations. On the positive side, there's only a 15% chance that what you're seeing isn't a hallucination.
