How to Install -
1. Download the Max Payne 3 Cutscene Skipper [www.speedrun.com]
(It's under 'Tools' in the middle of the URL I linked)

It may be flagged as a Virus/Trojan under your Anti-Virus, but it is a false positive. DO NOT WORRY! Author of the mod is a very well known speedrunner in the Max Payne community. Allow it and download the files :)

2. Extract ALL of the files into the Max Payne 3 installation folder.
Usually located here - C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Max Payne 3\Max Payne 3)
Important To Know!
SKIPPING CERTAIN CUTSCENES CAN CRASH THE GAME OR CAUSE GLITCHES. Read below & check comments section.

  • CHAPTER 1: After saving Fabiana - Max will be stuck in the elevator and unable to move.
    SOLUTION: Don't skip this cutscene until it transitions to Max running down a hallway.

  • CHAPTER 7: Where Max investigates the warehouse, before jumping on the chain, skipping
    causes the game to crash or Max to die instantly offscreen.
    SOLUTION: Don't skip this cutscene until after Max says the 'testosterone fest' line.

  • CHAPTER 8: Transition cutscene from the morgue to chapel, skipping will make the level
    load improperly and the enemies and some scenery will be invisible.
    SOLUTION: Don't skip this cutscene until after Max and Passos come through the door and
    enter the chapel.

  • CHAPTER 9: When crossing the gate through the alleyway showing a couple of choppers,
    skipping causes the game to crash to desktop.
    SOLUTION: Do not skip this cutscene at all.

  • CHAPTER 9: The loooooong cutscene before the end of the chapter can be skipped right away
    but the QTE at the end will be silent.
    SOLUTION: Harmless, there's no reason to be bothered by it.

  • CHAPTER 12: Cutscene featuring Max, the doctor, and Serrano MIGHT crash the game to
    desktop if it is skipped.
    SOLUTION: Do not skip this cutscene at all. Instead, enjoy Max's voice acting!

im not a mod creator so idk if its impossible or not but it would be nice if they made it so that you cant skip the game breaking cutscences cause my impatient ass keeps forgetting to not skip on certain cutscenes

for anyone asking. no its not a trojin. if it was why would it still be up six years later? plus the downloads are on the official speedrun.com site. other places recommend this site so its not a fishing site. and he literally says it might be marked as a false positive.

I just wanna say thank you so much dude. this genuinely fixes most of my problems with the game. it is so frustrating how many cutscenes there are in this fuckin game.

or u can skip it if it's okay to die here

or u can skip it (and reload checkpoint) if it's okay to die here



CHAPTER 13: DO NOT DIE ON BECKER FIGHT or game crash if u skip scene before becker fight

Never saw anyone whos got issue with that scene

It is, indeed, a trojan virus... it does work, because I tested it, but is a trojan virus and will mess up your machine
