How to Install -

1. Download the Max Payne 3 Cutscene Skipper [www.speedrun.com]
(It's under 'Tools' in the middle of the URL I linked)

It may be flagged as a Virus/Trojan under your Anti-Virus, but it is a false positive. DO NOT WORRY! Author of the mod is a very well known speedrunner in the Max Payne community. Allow it and download the files :)

2. Extract ALL of the files into the Max Payne 3 installation folder.
Usually located here - C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Max Payne 3\Max Payne 3)

Important To Know!

SKIPPING CERTAIN CUTSCENES CAN CRASH THE GAME OR CAUSE GLITCHES. Read below & check comments section.

CHAPTER 1: After saving Fabiana - Max will be stuck in the elevator and unable to move.
SOLUTION: Don't skip this cutscene until it transitions to Max running down a hallway.
CHAPTER 7: Where Max investigates the warehouse, before jumping on the chain, skipping
causes the game to crash or Max to die instantly offscreen.
SOLUTION: Don't skip this cutscene until after Max says the 'testosterone fest' line.
CHAPTER 8: Transition cutscene from the morgue to chapel, skipping will make the level
load improperly and the enemies and some scenery will be invisible.
SOLUTION: Don't skip this cutscene until after Max and Passos come through the door and
enter the chapel.
CHAPTER 9: When crossing the gate through the alleyway showing a couple of choppers,
skipping causes the game to crash to desktop.
SOLUTION: Do not skip this cutscene at all.
CHAPTER 9: The loooooong cutscene before the end of the chapter can be skipped right away
but the QTE at the end will be silent.
SOLUTION: Harmless, there's no reason to be bothered by it.
CHAPTER 12: Cutscene featuring Max, the doctor, and Serrano MIGHT crash the game to
desktop if it is skipped.
SOLUTION: Do not skip this cutscene at all. Instead, enjoy Max's voice acting!

Cool, I literally quit playing this game because I had to keep watching this same cutscene over and over at a really hard checkpoint.

even though its a false positive, it still gets deleted whether or not i click "Allow on device" or not. how do i fix this?

jedijosh has a billion other mods on all rockstar games so the download is fine

False positives are thing. The cutscene skipper is a ScriptHook plugin, which is something people use to mod other Rockstar games to cheat online and can get flagged as malware. You'll notice pretty much all of the AVs that flagged it in the dude below me's post said something like "GenericTrojan". That means it just thinks it looks like it might do things similar to trojans, but isn't necessarily a trojan itself. The guide author is right. Enough people have downloaded this and the download on the link in the guide is the same one it's been for 5 years. If it was a virus, you would have heard for certain.

consider this. I find it harder and harder to interpret virus total reporting. But I would not relay on one vendor, as there may be some inertia about fixing false positive for small user case software.

one the other hand, rare offer for highly sought solution to long standing annoyance for some, might make a kind of lower risk avoidance behavior pressure to use the only thing that works.

I have no conclusion.

Hello everyone, I'm sure Virus/Trojan is just a false positive guys. Unless anyone can prove otherwise?

The mod author of the mod on Speedrun.com is a well known speedrunner, + the website themselves likely vet any uploaded files.
