Powerup basics

In Witch-bot Meglilo, Meglilo has two drones on either side of her, which can be upgraded with powerups. Which drone recieves the powerup depends on whether Meglilo grabs it with her right or left side.

The drones' basic attack is shooting diagonally forward.

Powerups for Meglilo's drones and her shield appear when killing a particular type of enemy, this one.

There is also the nuke powerup which kills enemies and destroys bullets in a wide area, which is dropped by this enemy.

Meglilo is equipped with a forcefield/shield which is charged by collecting S powerups. With one charge, it appears red. With two, it appears blue. A third shield can be collected, but it does not provide additional protection, only adds to your score.

When Meglilo is killed, her drones are knocked back to the previous set of powerups they had, so collecting powerups is still useful even when you have good powerups already.

Double Shot: Fires shots forward and diagonally forward.

Triple Shot: fires forward, sideways, and backward.

Bomb Launcher: fires a bomb diagonally forward which explodes when either it hits something or gets a bit away from Meglilo.

Double Lazer: Lazers fire continuously forward and diagonally forward.

Bouncing Shot: fires shots diagonally forward that bounce off walls.

Spread Shot: fires bullets in every 22.5 degree increment from forward to backward on the side it is equipped.

Lazer Sword: a massive lazer sword is held diagonally forward for close-range damage.

Homing Rockets: fires rockets which initially go sideways but turn to home in on the nearest enemy. It should be noted that only a limited number of rockets can be onscreen at once and therefore if they end up "orbiting" an enemy the weapon becomes useless temporarily.
