Spycrabs are most commonly found using all-stock or F2P gear. They are completely harmless and will not attack anyone, yet there is a rare occurrence that spies will be passive-aggressive, meaning they will only attack if they are scared or attacked themselves.

Spycrabs, even though they seem to be looking forward, are actually looking up; they will look down every-so-often to get a good look at their surroundings. This is the only time that they can look down, as it takes up most of their energy and default looking up.

Once every few minutes, spycrabs will proceed to taunt constantly until they get the spycrab taunt. This has a 1/3 chance of happening, meaning it will be a bit rare to see this. This taunt was added when VALVe noticed the large feedback coming from spycrabs.

To play spycrab, it is recommended to use all stock, however it is not necessary. Change your profile picture to the stock TF2 spy, if possible. Only use the disguise kit; do not do anything with it. Default to permanently crouching (done with toggle_duck) and looking up. Only look down every five seconds, for two seconds. Never, ever, ever, EVER attack, even if absolutely necessary. Do not say any voice lines. Do not get up from crouching, except for jumping.
