Black Mesa is released! In this video series I play through the game (as far as has been released so far), trying my best to pay attention to all detail, hence "longplay". I also try to do some additional research and provide informative bulletins on various details within the game, whenever possible.
It is my first playthrough, hence "blind". I know the original Half-Life pretty well (from playing it long time ago), but this is not exactly the same game; so I may sometimes get lost and miss things.
No voiceover, sorry. But I provide hopefully much interesting reading in annotations.

The development of Black Mesa began in 2004, after Valve had released a Source port of the original game, now called "Half-Life: Source". The port was really a lackluster compared to what it could have been, which spawned several community projects to do the port properly. That is how Black Mesa was born.
Black Mesa is not just a port or a clone of Half-Life. While it is a faithful reproduction of the original game, from scratch, with ramped up graphics and audio, many scenes were greatly expanded upon, improved, and even changed where the original made no sense. There are thousands of new models, hours of new voice talents, all very professionally constructed.
If you have watched mr. Ross's "Freeman's Mind" series, you might count how many times he says "doesn't make any sense" about some aspect of the original game's world. Some of those were fixed in this game.
