How to friend "Current Players" in AOE via Steam

Steam doesn't show players from the "Current Game" on AOE...?
Fear not, here's a guide to work around it...

#1: Go to your Steam Profile / Steam Community
You can do this by pressing SHIFT + TAB and clicking your avatar on the bottom right.

#2: On the top menu, go to [Your name] > Friends
Mouse over your Steam username at the top (pictured name is Yal), until the community menu appears. Then, click Friends.

#3: Finally, click on the Players tab
Click the "Players" tab on the page below.
This will show all players connected to the AOE game you're in, including the lobby and ingame.


This is also a handy way to know if someone has truly disconnected from your game, or is still lingering around after defeat.

Don't forget... keep exploring the map...

real lifesaver. searching for ppl on steam is pure cancer since every username has 1000 results

An easier way to see if someone is lingering around after the game is to check the chat. If they are still there you will be able to enable or disable chat with them.
