  • There's a few major sory choices, such as which mafia family you side with or what politician you support. Depending on what you pick, this guide may differ.

  • RNG is pretty crappy sometimes in this game, so some things may not always work right away. I've made it to the end of Act 1 without any officers dying but there's plenty of opportunities to get them killed. If an officer dies, you can restart the day by going back to the main menu (the game autosaves at the start of each day).

  • Timings for each event may be a little off since I suck at paying attention sometimes. Whoops.
Act 1
The first part of the game starts on Day 1 with a short cutscene. You can skip individual lines of the cutscene by right clicking, or you can skip the whole thing by holding down enter or left click.

This is followed by a press conference where you have to select your answers. Make sure to choose neutral answers and avoid giving away details- getting into this habit will be useful for later press conferences.

Another cutscene, then onto Day 2, where you finally start the game.
Days 2-4
Day 2.

There's a short cutscene at the start of the day, but afterwards, the game begins for real. If you've never played before, going through the tutorial is a good idea- it's short, so it won't take too long.

You start with Shift B. You can recruit more officers and detectives later, so don't worry about Price's 5 professionalism.

Let's get into the events now.

10:10- Hit and Run, EveryDay Mall. This is an easy mission, so you can get away with sending a single experienced cop (Kochi, Yancey or Purdy). Also, if you want to raise the professionalism scores of your officers, you can send one of them along even if you don't think they're needed. I recommend sending a low-scoring cop (Austin or Price).

10:50- Fight, The Last Picture Show Theater. Again, one experienced cop can handle this but it won't hurt to send another.

14:15- Armed Robbery, Suburb. In this situation, the officer(s) you sent will ask for advice. In this situation, the best choice is to turn on the loudspeaker and sirens and shout that the house is surrounded.

14:30- Fight, Johnson, Juergen and Katz Law Firm. The cop(s) you sent to the first event should be back at the station by now, so you can use them again for this.

16:30- Assault, Ghetto. Since there's 3 slots, sending two or three cops is a better idea than just sending one. Sending one experienced officer and 2 average officers (Tsubaki and Asano) is a good idea.

20:00- End of Day 2.

There's another cutscene at the end of the day. Here you'll learn that your goal is to earn $500,000 by the end of the game and from tomorrow onwards, you'll get opportunities to earn money in exchange for help from your officers.


Day 3.

Some of your staff members may ask for a day off today. It's not recommended since they're not tired, and letting them go home means you'll have to work with less staff. The excuses they give don't affect anything.

Today you get 2 stripe badges to hand out to your staff members. Drag and drop them onto the person you choose. It's recommended to use one for shift A, then save the other for shift B on Day 4. Stripes can be given to detectives as well- a good idea, since they are going to be useful tomorrow.

This time you work with Shift A. You may notice that you have one more cop that you do on shift B instead of a third detective.

When you start the day, you'll learn how to hire and fire cops. Click the Affairs button in the bottom right of the screen, select the police station and look at the labor market tab. Choosing the cop with the highest professionalism score is a good idea. You also get taught how to fire officers- select any officer under personnel and click fire. It's not recommended to actually fire them though- just close it after this part of the tutorial ends since you may need them later.

Events for today:

10:05- Vandalism, St. John's Cathedral. Stovall can easily do this alone, but keeping him for the next event is a better idea. Instead send 2 average cops (Van Dahl and Robbins).

11:10- Vandalism, Atticus Tower. If you saved Stovall, send him along with one or two others since the offender here has a chance of escaping.

13:20- Suspicious Individual, Eddie's Burgers. This is a false alarm. Sending an officer to this is a bad idea since you may need them for later. False alarms don't award professionalism points. Simply let this call sit until it times out- once it goes away, you'll learn that it was a false alarm even if you didn't send anyone.

15:50- Sam Sorkin, King Lewis Night Club. He will ask for the help of an officer. If you send an officer, he will quit the job. However, you will also get $4,500 for completing this request. If you want the money, send a low-scoring officer like Roy. There are other chances to get money later, and there's no consequences if you don't choose to do this event.

17:50- Drug Sales, Christopher G. Sand's Ice Arena. The patrol will ask for advice; choose to take the clown onto the ice and round up any witnesses.

18:45- Suicide Threat, Fleet Street. This event has a short reaction time, so don't let it sit for too long.

The shift ends 20:00, but since the events run over, you can't leave until they've all been responded to.


Day 4.

Make sure to look at the newspapers when the day starts since they're linked to events that will happen soon. A cutscene will play after this, then you'll head to work. If you saved a stripe badge from yesterday, award it to one of your team members today.

When you start the day, you get given a request from City Hall to fire all of your black staff members. This is not recommended. You can't legally fire the black detectives, and firing them illegally can get you into trouble later. Firing Stovall also means getting rid of your best officer, so it's a good idea to just ignore this quest.

10:15- Destruction of Property, City Hall (Parking Lot).

10:30- Homicide, Ghetto. This is a case for your detectives. Send them out as you would with your officers. Once they arrive at the scene, you get a new screen showing the details of the case. Spend some time looking through the clues so you can figure out what went down. Towards the end of each day, you'll get new frames that you have to put in a certain order to find the culprit. This may take several days, especially if you only have one detective or you only have detectives from the same shift, since detectives who aren't working won't get new frames. You can add detectives to the case by clicking the Investigations button on the bottom right and selecting the case.

12:20- Carjacking, Suburb. The patrol asks for advice here; choose to wait at a safe distance until the suspect arrives.

14:45- Suspicious Individual, Desire Park.

16:30- Kazuki Tamura, Dragon's Lair Club. Sending an officer gives them an extra 100 professionalism, however they will go home for the rest of the day afterwards. Send a low-scoring cop in order to balance out your team.

18:25- Fight, Kevin's Throat Bar. The patrol asks for advice again. This time there are two phases; first shut off the music and turn up the lights, then ask the bartender for a bucket of cold water to throw on the combatants.

19:00- Fight, Octopus Restaurant.
Days 5-10
Day 5.

Look at the headlines today since they're going to be important. A cutscene will play and you'll have to make a choice- you'll have to work for Sand no matter what option you pick, however if you refuse to help Kendrick, he and his family will die.

When you start the working day, you can send a request to city hall. You can pick all 4 if you want to, however some of the requests can be rejected. You should make improving the SWAT team your top priority since they will be needed soon.

You get your weekly salary today.

10:10- Disorderly Conduct, Eddie's Burgers. Make sure to send two good cops as the offender has a high chance of escaping.

10:50- Robbery, Touch of Dionysus Liquor Store. You can send the SWAT team to this call, which is recommended if you didn't send cops with high professionalism. The patrol will ask for advice and this time there are three phases. First sneak up to the back door, then take aim at the robber, and finally you can either threaten him or shoot him.

11:50- Fight, Residential Area.

13:40- Robbery, City Center. Send your detectives to this case. It's likely that you will get all 3 correct frames the same day, and solving this case allows you to take down a gang called The Red Masks. Correct sequence under spoiler:

13:40- Ernest Fitzgerald, Countryside. He will ask for two officers. If you send them, the officers will gain 55 professionalism, but they will go home afterwards. Send low-scoring cops to balance out your team.

14:10- A task from the City Hall. They will ask for one officer. You cannot delay this call and if you refuse it, City Hall will be angry.

14:45- Destruction of Property, Gallery of Modern Art. Send at least 2 good officers.

18:30- Vandalism, Atticus Tower.


Day 6.

The headlines are important again. A cutscene plays.

If you fired all of your black staff members, you will be informed about action being taken against you. If you kept your black staff members, City Hall will be angry with you. Also, if you arrested Kuan-Yin Lin yesterday, you can work on taking down The Red Masks. The working days get longer starting today.

07:00- You can start to investigate Ning He. It's possible to get all 3 frames the same day. Correct sequence under spoiler:

08:30- Attempted Murder, Sugar Dream Confectionary.

11:25- Carjacking, Suburb. The patrol asks for advice; tell them to overtake the car and take the offender into custody.

14:25- Hostage Situation, Suburb. False alarm.

16:50- Theft, Rubinovich Casino.

17:15- A task from Sand. He will ask for one of your officers to help him. The officer will return after.

20:10- Assault with a Deadly Weapon, City Center. The patrol will ask for advice; first shoot out the tires, then order the offender to let go of the man.


Day 7.

A cutscene plays. Starting today, Martin Stett is your deputy, and you can get help from him in exchange for money. Access this by clicking Deputy in the bottom right. You can now also get favours from the Sands for money.

07:00- If you arrested Ning He yesterday, you can start to investigate Jin Yang, the leader of The Red Masks. Arresting her eliminates the gang and you will be awarded $20,000. Correct sequence under spoiler:

07:50- Theft, Bigfoot Athletic Shoes Shop. Send cops with high professionalism since the offenders have a high chance of escaping. The patrol will ask for advice; tell them to return the shoes.

10:20- Attempted Murder, Suburb. Short reaction time.

12:00- Task from City Hall, they will ask for one cop. They will be busy until the end of the day.

14:15- Assault, Freeburg Elementary School.

15:00- Ulrich Bieber, City Center. He will ask for 3 cops and you'll get $3000. One cop will go home afterwards.

16:35- Disorderly Conduct, Gallery of Modern Art. The officers will ask for advice; tell the man to come out, then ask him about his work.

22:09- Theft, Engineering Plant. This is Sand's mission. If you send officers then Sand will be angry, but if you don't send anyone you will receive $4000.


Day 8.

You have to take a psychological test. Choose sensible answers- picking randomly has consequences. You don't work today.


Day 9.

07:30- Feminist Protest, Desire Park. You have to send 4 officers and SWAT. If you agree, you will be interrogated on Day 11. Fabricating evidence is a good idea, but it comes at a price. Evidence against the mafia is a better option. If you refuse, the mayor will be angry.

08:15- Hostage Situation, Johnson, Juergen and Katz Law Firm. Save the SWAT team for the next event.

10:50- Arson, The Last Picture Show Theater. Correct sequence under spoiler:

12:40- Robbery, Rubinovich Casino. This is Sand's mission, and if you send officers then Sand will be angry. If you don't send anyone then you will get $8000, however civilians will die and damage the police's reputation.
If you send officers, they will ask for backup and will want more officers.

15:00- Demi Grenier, Coinstitution 2000 Arcade. She asks for 2 officers. They will return fully rested and you will earn $2000.

17:15- Suspicious Individual, St. John's Hospital. The patrol asks for advice; taser the man.

19:05- Disorderly Conduct, Ghetto. The patrol will ask for backup.

21:10- A task from Sand. He will ask for 2 officers.

22:35- R*pe, Hotel. The patrol will ask for advice; first threaten the man, use the pepper spray, then jump out after the criminal.

At the end of the day, one of your best staff members will quit. This cannot be avoided.


Day 10.

You receive a task from City Hall. A random staff member is selected for this and you have to ensure that nothing bad happens to them for three days.

08:20- Attempted Murder, Suburb. The patrol will ask for backup.

10:40- A task from Sand. He will ask for 3 officers.

13:10- Noise Complaint, Sawmill. The patrol will ask for advice; break the gate open, then order the offender to release the boy.

14:25- Henry Sand, Road. He will ask for 3 officers and you will receive the paddy wagon. This will be useful later. The cops will go home afterwards.

16:10- Robbery, Drugstore.

18:40- Homicide, Courthouse. This is Sand's mission, sending officers will make him angry. If you ignore the event, you will get $6000 but civilians will die.
If you send officers, they will ask for backup.

21:10- Assault, Residential Area. The patrol asks for advice; break down the door, say you're on his side, then say you can talk at the station.
Days 11-18
Day 11.

If you suppressed the feminist protest on Day 9, you will be interrogated today and won't be able to work. Give neutral answers because any information you give away can possibly get you in trouble. If you fabricated evidence, make sure to bring it up during the interrogation.

If you didn't suppress the protest, you will work as normal.

08:10- Trespassing, Farm. The patrol asks for advice; go to the back door.

10:50- Theft, EveryDay Mall.

13:20- A task from Sand. He will want one officer.

16:00- Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Parking Lot. The patrol will ask for backup.

18:39- Attempted Murder, City Center. This is Sand's mission, and sending officers makes him angry. If you ignore it, you will get $1000 but civilians will die.
If you send officers, they will ask for advice; rush the skyscraper to the left.

21:20- Attempted Robbery, Suburb. The patrol will ask for backup.

A cutscene plays at the end of the day.


Day 12.

A cutscene plays at the start of the day. Here you'll have to choose whether you want to help Sand or Varga. I chose to help Sand, so if you choose to help Varga then you may receive different events.

09:00- Massive Fight, King Lewis Night Club. Sending the paddy wagon is a good idea. The patrol will ask for backup.

11:40- Assault, Suburb. The patrol will ask for advice; pull on the dog's collar, then borrow the bike.

14:10- Homicide, Church. You will get a non-automatic weapon if you succeed, and you can choose to take it back to the station or sell it to the mafia. Guns don't sell for much, so it's recommended to take them to the station.

17:00- Attempted Murder, St. John's Hospital. False alarm.

21:30- Terrorism, Christopher G. Sand's Ice Arena. The patrol asks for advice; open the bag.

Day 13.

The mafia war starts today.

07:30- Attempted Murder, Residential Area.

08:55- The Sands need help. 2 officers.

20:25- Fight, Dump. The patrol will ask for backup.


Day 14.

07:40- The Sands need help. 3 officers.

08:50- Destruction of Property, Coinstitution 2000 Arcade.

10:30- Task from City Hall. 2 officers needed. They will be unavailable for the rest of the day.

12:20- Illegal Arms Sales, Ghetto. The patrol will ask for backup. You get a non-automatic weapon.

16:25- Firefight, Port. The patrols asks for advice; tell them to freeze, then tell the criminals to give up. You will find cocaine, which can be sold to the mafia for a good price.

18:00- The Sands need help. 1 officer.

19:30- Ulrich Bieber, City Center. He asks for 3 officers and you get $4000.

20:00- Suspicious Individual, EveryDay Mall. False alarm.


Day 15.

You get a task from the city hall saying you need half of your staff members to be women. This is an easy task and there are two ways to go about it; you can either recruit more female cops from the labor market or fire some of the male cops who are giving you trouble.

07:55- Suicide Threat, Bridge. The patrol asks for advice; ask about his husband, stay back, then convince the man that people still care about him.

09:00- Breaking and Entering, Suburb. False alarm.

10:45- Disorderly Conduct, Business Center. You will find cocaine.

11:45- A random investigation triggers.

17:10- Hostage Situation with a Fatal Casualty, Bank of Freeburg. The patrol will ask for backup.

19:50- The Sands need help. 2 officers.


Day 16.

08:05- The Sands need help. 2 officers.

09:40- Fight, Freeburg Elementary School.

10:45- Theft, Museum of Feelings and Fine Art. Correct sequence under spoiler:

14:00- Reckless Endangerment, City Center.

16:10- The Sands need help. 1 officer.

20:15- Noise Complaint, Ghetto. Take the paddy wagon.

22:40- The Sands need help. 3 officers. You will find an automatic weapon.


Day 18.

Days 19-25
Day 19.

You will get a quest from City Hall telling you to have 3 Asian cops on a shift when a Japanese businessman visits. He visits when shift B is working, so if you've kept Kochi, Tsubaki and Asano alive then you don't need to do anything. If one of them has died or been fired, hire another Asian cop from the labor market or transfer one over if you have one on shift A.

07:20- Bomb Threat, St. John's Cathedral. The patrol asks for advice; evacuate the cathedral, then make sure everyone has evacuated.

11:40- Public Indecency, EveryDay Mall.

12:00- Tibetan monk arrives. If you accept, 2 officers will quit on Day 21.

12:30- The Sands need help. 2 officers.

16:00- The Sands need help. 1 officer.

18:10- Assault, Suburb. False alarm.

21:55- Attempted Murder, Bridge.


Day 20.

A cutscene plays.

07:55- Disorderly Conduct, Playground.

11:45- Bomb Threat, Ghetto. The patrol will ask for backup. You will find explosives.

13:00- Intern detectives. They can be used temporarily to work on your investigations. After they leave on Day 22, you will have 2 empty detective slots.

16:20- Assault, Road. The patrol asks for advice; use the fire extinguisher.

18:00- The Sands need help. 1 officer.

20:15- Armed Robbery, Pawnshop. You will find jewelry.

22:10- The Sands need help. 2 officers.


Day 21.

If you let the Tibetan monk into the police station on Day 19, two of your staff members will quit the job.

07:30- Robbery, Port Warehouses. False alarm.

08:50- The Sands need help. 1 officer.

12:10- R*pe, Ghetto. The patrol asks for help; tell the woman you have a witness.

13:30- Another randomised investigation.

14:00- Carjacking, Suburb.

16:20- Task from City Hall. They need 3 officers and they will be busy until the end of the day.

18:10- The Sands need help. 1 officer.

20:15- Assault, Vegetable Shop.


Day 22.

The businessman comes today. If one of your Asian cops asks for a day off today, don't let them since you need them for today.

09:10- Destruction of Property, Chinatown Dormitory. The patrol will ask for backup.

11:30- Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Johnson, Juergen and Katz Law Firm. The patrol asks for advice; take the keys, then order the woman to drop her weapon.

14:00- The Sands need help. 2 officers.

15:10- Derek Allen, Sophocles Theatre of Drama. He asks for one cop. You will receive $3000, however the cop will quit the job.

16:00- Bomb Threat, Bank of Freeburg.

19:50- The Sands need help. 2 officers.

22:10- Destruction of Property, Mrs. Sofa Furniture Store. You will find money; ask the mafia to sell it or you will not receive the money.


Day 23.

07:30- Attempted Murder, Suburb. The patrol asks for advice; find another way in, then check if the woman is still alive.

9:05- Fight, City Center. Take the paddy wagon.

13:10- The Sands need help. 1 officer.

15:20- Suspicious Individual, Touch of Dionysus Liquor Store. False alarm.

19:15- Theft, River Bank. The patrol will ask for backup.

22:00- The Sands need help. 2 officers.


Day 24.

You get a request from city hall telling you to fire all old cops. This is easy to do since you can legally fire them, however if it means firing some of your best men (like Stovall) then you may want to think twice.

09:10- Assault, Ghetto.

11:20- Disorderly Conduct, Desire Park. Take the paddy wagon.

13:45- Fabrice Souplet, Sophocles Theater of Drama. He will ask for 3 officers. You will receive $15,000 but one of the three cops will quit the job.

16:15- Theft, Debbie's Special Cafe. The patrol asks for advice; check the fridge.

18:00- The Sands need help. 3 officers.

20:10- Reckless Endangerment, Veterans House. You will find a non-automatic weapon.

22:15- The Sands need help. 1 officer.


Day 25.

08:00- Fight, Kevin's Throat Bar. The patrol asks for help; watch and wait until they exhaust themselves.

09:10- The Sands need help. 2 officers.

11:50- Suicide Threat, St. John's Cathedral. False alarm.

12:00- Chef Mastroianni. If you give him $300 for the food, all of your officers will regain their energy.

13:20- Robbery, Octopus Restaurant.

17:50- The Sands need help. 2 officers.

19:50- Noise Complaint, Suburb. The patrol will ask for backup. You will find an automatic weapon.
Days 26-30
Day 26.

07:30- Black protest, City Hall (Parking Lot). You have to send 4 officers, SWAT and the paddy wagon. If you send them, you will be interrogated on Day 28 and fabricating evidence is more expensive than last time (once again it's recommended to make evidence against the mafia). If you refuse, the mayor will be angry.

09:10- Domestic Disturbance, Suburb. The patrol will ask for backup.

11:00- Mass Riot, Moonlight Soccer Stadium. The patrol asks for advice; use tear gas.

15:40- Carjacking, City Center.

17:50- The Sands need help. 2 officers.

19:50- Vandalism, Suburb.

21:55- The Sands need help. 2 officers.


Day 27.

2 random staff members will have food poisoning and will be unable to work for 5 days.

08:00- Vandalism, Corn Monument.

08:15- Suicide Threat, Atticus Tower.

08:50- Suicide Threat, Bridge.

11:40- Hit and Run, City Center. The patrol will ask for backup.

12:30- Animal Assault, Suburb. False alarm.

13:20- Disorderly Conduct, Fleet Street.

18:00- The Sands need help. 3 officers.

19:40- The Sands need help. 3 officers.

22:00- Unlawful Assembly, City Hall. The patrol will ask for backup. You will find a non-automatic weapon.

22:15- Destruction of Property, LiveGood Minimarket.

The mafia war ends after you finish working.


Day 28.

If you suppressed the black protest by force on Day 26, you will be interrogated today. Only give neutral answers and don't say anything that can be used against you. If you fabricated evidence, make sure to bring it up here.

Otherwise, you will work as normal.

07:40- Attempted Carjacking, City Center. The patrol will ask for backup.

10:00- Hostage Situation, City Center.

12:20- Abduction, True Color Hotel. The patrol asks for advice; break down the door, then cut the red wire.

14:40- Armed Robbery, Gas Station.

16:50- Disorderly Conduct, Octopus Restaurant. The patrol asks for advice; go through the main entrance, then pounce on the criminal.

Day 29.

07:10- If the Sands won the mafia war, you'll be able to begin investigating them.

07:30- Robbery, Bank of Freeburg. The patrol asks for advice; sneak up to the window, then wait for the robbers to leave.

09:45- Assault, Trade Union. The patrol will ask for backup.

11:30- Armed Robbery, Sardius Jewelry Store. The patrol will ask for backup.

13:10- Assault, Sophocles Theatre of Drama.

15:45- Fight, Sawmill Neighborhood.

17:10- Task from City Hall. 2 officers.

21:45- Homicide, Gas Station. You will find an automatic weapon.

At the end of the day, a cutscene plays.


Day 30.

07:50- Fight, Desire Park.

09:40- Unlawful Assembly, City Hall. Send the paddy wagon.

11:30- Robbery, City Center. The patrol asks for advice; run after him, then use the pepper spray.

13:10- Counterfeiting, Desire Park. The patrol will ask for backup. You will find money.

15:40- Theft, Bus Stop.

17:25- Disorderly Conduct, St. John's Hospital.

19:10- Mass Riot, Corn Monument. The patrol asks for advice; attempt to detain the hooligans.

21:50- Assault, LiveGood Minimarket.

At the end of the day a cutscene plays, bringing you to the end of Act 1.

Hey, just wanted to say thanks for this guide - don't know why it's not 5-star rated yet as it's easily the best guide for this game, and the only one that actually sets things out day by day. So useful when you're replaying days and you want to remind yourself what's coming up!
