No, it's totally cool. Nobody starts off perfectly, I'd work a bit on adding more detail and with anatomy. The DeviantArt insult is most likely from the toxic history that the website carries, for every good artwork, you'll find a plethora of toxicity.

It's like pixel art, to me at least. If anything seems blocky, my bad. It's my first artwork anyway.
But I don't get the deviant art bit. Why does it look like deviant art minecraft?
