How it's done.
In Cubemen 2, you host a multi-player game the same way you start a non network game.

  • 1. Click Play on main menu
  • 2. Select a level to play on
  • 3. In game setup panel, Make sure you are on the advanced tab
  • 4. Choose one of the Multi-Player game mode
  • 5. Select either [ Humans & Bots ] or [ Just Humans ]
  • 6. Setup other game settings (number of players, game rules )
  • 7. Click [ Host Private ] or [ Host Public ]

if you select [ Host Private ] you will be asked to enter a password for the game that others wil need to enter to join the game.

The Lobby will then load and you wait for players to join.

As the Host, you can switch between [ Humans & Bots ] or [ Just Humans ] in the lobby, to add in BOTs to fill the empty slots that Humans dont fill.

If it is a teams game, you will also be able to assign players to teams in the lobby and AI will auto fill correct teams to keep them even when the game starts.

Once you are ready and have all of your players in the lobby, click [ Start ] to get the game going.

They'd scroll through the games until they see the one hosted by you. Your steam name is shown on the game card.

Thanks for the responses, still don't understand the process though.

1. Chat, "hey want to play Cubemen 2?"
2. One person creates lobby, private game with password.
3. Other person presses "Join Network Game"

Right now there are no games listed.
So when the other person comes they will see my game listed here.
They will know it's my game because... it's the only one heh.
And join from there. ok I guess that works. If there were a lot of games listed then...?

Steam chat? Skype? Sms? Phone? Same way you'd normally chat with your friends.

Well then, how do you invite another person or join another person's game (once you have a lobby up)???

There is no friends list support in CM2, as friends lists are not cross platform.
